It took me an hour or so to download. Once that was complete, the installation began with the usual progress indicator around the clock face. The first 20% or so seemed to take forever, but then the speed started to pick up quite a bit—it jumped from about 1/4 to 3/4 in the last 10-15 minutes. Sometimes one hash mark at a time is highlighted, other times 3, 4, or more. So I hope this gets done in another 15-20 minutes or so, even though it's slowed down again since I started writing this post. I wouldn't recommend doing the update without having (pardon the pun) a lot of time on your hands.

3 plus hours so far.....still "installing." I brought my watch charger so I could update it....however, I did not bring the phone charger and there is a good chance the phone battery will exhaust itself before the watch is updated......ugh....

Finally finished and other than Mickey and Minnie remaining silent and refusing to tell me the time (no idea why not), it seems to work fine. Silent mice will be for another day.

Well guys ... I resisted so far the AW .... now that we have watchOS3 and AWN+ I can't wait til end of October.

Am so looking forward to it. *happy*

Further update on the update. The first go-around finished and was followed by a reboot with the Apple logo, then another around the clock face progress indicator. That went quickly at first, but now seems stuck at 3/4 again, even though the iPhone Watch app says that the software has been installed and is ready to use. I wonder if this last step (assuming it IS the last) has to do with re-installing apps. In any case, there should be more feedback and warning about what's happening and how long it will take.

I am stuck saying 4 hours remaining on the download. Another iPhone says the watch associated with it is up-to-date at 2.2.2. Any chance Apple has pulled WatchOS3?

For any of you who have managed to successfully upgrade , can you post the build number please (Settings/General/Ab out in Watch App), I am trying to find out if there was any change from WatchOS3 GM....

Many thanks in advance,

Adam

Well duh. I thought my girlfriend's iPhone had updated when she handed it back to me. It still has 25 minutes to go on the download. That explains the lack of the WatchOS 3 update since it needs iOS 10. As for my watch, it now says 2 hours remaining.

The 911 function starts a loud siren once the countdown begins. There's no possible way to accidentally hold it unintentionally, unless you're deaf (the siren still blares if you have your Watch on silent). Brilliant function. It's nice to know that it's there if I ever need it. In a hostile situation, the loud siren might even scare off would be assailants.
I tested it when I first installed the software, and I heard no siren. But I quickly canceled once the countdown started. My Watch is almost always on silent. I'm hesitant to try it again, but might when I get home. Can anyone else confirm this?

The siren starts after the 3 on the countdown. It's loud. There's also a hard haptic vibration. You can't miss it.

The siren still sounds if the Watch is in silent mode.

I cannot make the updates happen, guys. I have been part of the Public Beta program through all the iOS steps on my iPhone 6S 128 GB. I installed the GM last week, and it says I am on iOS 10.0.1

My Apple Watch however seems to be happily stuck on version 2.2.1....

I have deleted my iOS Beta Profile from my settings, but this did not change anything...

What am I doing wrong now....? Please help :-(

Did you restart the watch?

Updated to Watch OS3, didn't take too long about 35 minutes, was concerned when I read folks update 2+ hours. The update has the Watch running much faster, like a new Watch. The apps that I have in the dock that are tied to complications, update MUCH faster.

I saw the 3 and cancelled out. So if it starts on the 2 then you'd need pretty quick reflexes to realize what's going on and cancel it. Like I said, it happened to me 6-7 times while building a wall over the course of two hours. It's the only time I've done any manual labor since getting the GM update last week. So if you wear gloves and use it to track fitness then it's going to be either really annoying at best, or possibly end with the police showing up if you're not fast enough. Still best to enable the slide setting if you really think you'll need it. I'm thinking about turning it off altogether because it's just kind of annoying and I'm worried my toddler will still somehow set it off while she's playing in my lap. Sometimes she'll start messing with my AW and I won't even realize it because I'm talking with my wife or whatever.
