I download the update during the day, then put my watch on the charger at night and it installs. Fortunately been flawless on my series 5.
I'm getting really tired of the frequent Apple Watch updates. Updating my wife's Apple Watch 3 is painful.
Get it together Apple.
It's not a WatchOS bug, the unlock issue is coming from iOS which was fixed in iOS 14.7.1.well, no change in unlock behavior... guess have to provide that feedback straight to Apple now
Quick update , slower unlocking 😖Hopefully the delay in unlocking via iPhone is fixed or at least improved…. Guess I’ll find out later today…
It definitely wasn't fixed. Unlocking my Watch ser. 6 with my iPhone XS still doesn't work at all. Both updated. It's not a WatchOS bug, the unlock issue is coming from iOS which was fixed in iOS 14.7.1.
This update is small (58.5mb) so it shouldn't cause any space related issues for Apple Watch series 3 users. Judging by the size of the update and notes this is purely a security fix.
On my series 6, I was able to update the watch while having it charged on my dock so I'm not sure why some users say they can't update on the dock. Keep in mind your watch must have at least 50% battery and a solid bluetooth connection with your phone for the update to proceed.
Watch 3 often has an update problem, think you have to unpair it from the iPhone and re-pair it as part of the update IIRC.How is that painful?
- Place Watch on Charger.
- Go to sleep.
- Wake up to an updated watch.
They don’t update it, you complain. They do update it, you complain. There just is no pleasing some people
What do you mean "doesn't update correctly"?Got a link for me complaining if they don't update?
The real problem here is they have a currently marketed product that doesn't update correctly. So updates are painful. I'll definitely keep complaining about that. Every time.
What a joke.
You might want to provide Apple with feedback on that via apple.com/feedback. I have an older iphone, the ones with the home button so I can say for that they've fixed it in that update. Perhaps the ones with Face ID unlock is still broken. It definitely wasn't fixed. Unlocking my Watch ser. 6 with my iPhone XS still doesn't work at all. Both updated.
Two options, new wife or new Apple Watch.I'm getting really tired of the frequent Apple Watch updates. Updating my wife's Apple Watch 3 is painful.
Get it together Apple.
this update takes care of that backdoor virus...Yes, with WifeOS 0.6
and the new wife better come with a new apple watch. just saying. Two options, new wife or new Apple Watch.
My 6 updates extremely fast compared to my old 3.
Yeah, let's stop the watchOS updates so we can accommodate you.I'm getting really tired of the frequent Apple Watch updates. Updating my wife's Apple Watch 3 is painful.

The problem with instant gratification is it takes too long! 😉For those of you who are annoyed by the 4-5sec delay unlocking the watch via faceid iPhone, here is what I submitted to https://apple.com/feedback - feel free to copy/paste. The more people provide feedback the better the chances they'll fix it!
Prior to iOS 14.7/watchOS 7.6 unlocking the AW was a simple process, look at the phone, it unlocks and AW is instantaneously unlocked.
Now with iOS 14.7/watchOS 7.6 I have to swipe up on the iPhone home screen, a banner pops up “unlocking watch” and it takes 4-5sec to say “watch unlocked”, and it just does not work all the time.
What’s the purpose of this feature?
Au contraire, when wearing a face mask, looking at the iPhone, it almost instantaneously unlocks the iPhone via the watch - GREAT feature!!
Why the inconsistency? Please bring back the instantaneous unlocking feature for the watch asap!
Cons of owning a bunch of Apple products: I now have to update 4 devices each time an update comes out.
I haven't needed to reset to factory state, unpair, repair, etc the last few updates. Granted I may have reduced the number of songs and photos actually stored on the watch.Amen. What people don't get is the Apple Watch 3 is a current product. It's still being actively sold and marketed on Apple's website. I wouldn't be complaining if it was an unsupported product.
So, their fault that it doesn't put itself on your arm, or manage to be totally unnoticeable until you want to notice it.With Apple Watch series 1 it literally took like 2 hours to update and now that I gotten the Apple Watch series 6 it takes literally like 10 minutes or less.
oh, well whatever I don’t even update it to the latest version cause I just can’t get use to wearing a watch so it’s somewhere in one of my drawers. I’ll probably trade it in for an apple gift card whatever the hell it’ll be worth if it’s worth 20 bucks ok I’ll take it and put it towards the iPhone 13. **** the watch.
I think Iam done with it cause I gave it tons of chances but I just can’t get use to wearing a watch.
We have a total of 15 Apple devices in our home, I do the updating because I enjoy it. But in truth, if left alone, every Apple device will auto update on their own…they take absolutely forever to update, even my top of the line macbook pro
Good to know about the mask, going to keep the mask on forever 😄For those of you who are annoyed by the 4-5sec delay unlocking the watch via faceid iPhone, here is what I submitted to https://apple.com/feedback - feel free to copy/paste.
