Common practise for forced upgrades. Every update slows down the device to a point where a user gets triggered to upgrade. If the upgrade curve does not go as planned, they introduce updates that remove, decrease or distort hardware functionality. (Airpods Max ANC, iPhone camera improvements on last gen iPhones and green tint lcd on devices. Just to bame a few.
Ah, this one again. No, they don't do this, there's no proof they've ever done this. Sometimes a tin foil can be just a touch too tight. Do updates slow things down sometimes? Sure. Is Apple doing it on purpose? No.

Do people actually believe this? Is there any legitimate documentation (not AI) to back up this accusation? If this were true and the public/government found out about it, I'd wonder if Apple could survive.

That’s definitely why, but they will let iPhones, iPads, and Macs update on battery as long as it’s above 50%. And they already have the above 50% requirement, it seems excessive that that’s in addition to requiring the charger.
I’d say it’s because the Watch holds much less battery charge, even the Ultra. If any unexpected intense cleanup needs to happen or installation goes unexpectedly slow, the Watch will quickly drain its battery.

View attachment 2209809For f sake… please make it so that the watch hands stop covering up the complications. The hand should go opaque or something… or just let me shut off the watch hands. I can’t be the only one who like digital time. How stupid is it that I can’t even see how much time is left on my timer in the attached example.
Yes, I reported this to Apple multiple times.

Just wait a minute and the hand will be out of the way. 😉

Good point about just taping it and yeah my complaint can definitely be classified as first world problems 🥲

Would be cool though if they designed that part of the arm to thin out as it passed a complication.

Who knows though, maybe they did and though it looked tacky.
If they did that, I'm sure we would find people who would complain about it not being realistic)))

Apple today released watchOS 9.5.1, a minor bug fix update designed for the Apple Watch. watchOS 9.5.1 is a free download that comes two weeks after the launch of watchOS 9.5.

watchOS 9.5.1 can be downloaded for free through the Apple Watch app on the iPhone by opening it up and going to General > Software Update. To install the new software, the Apple Watch needs to have at least 50 percent battery, it needs to be placed on a charger, and it needs to be in range of the ‌‌‌‌‌‌iPhone‌‌‌‌‌‌.

According to Apple's release notes for the update, it includes "improvements and bug fixes" for the Apple Watch, with no details on which bugs have been addressed.

What's with the tinting business?
I haven't had this problem, on either my 6 series or the new 8 series, mid you they are the Stainless Steel versions, maybe that's why they don't have these issues 😊
Is it specific to the US? or just people that like to complain?

I'm hoping it fixes the washed-out green color on my Series 7. After reading about other Apple Watch users on here still experiencing the green tint, I can't believe Apple hasn't fixed this issue yet. Waiting for mine to finish updating, this should have been fixed with this update. C'mon Apple!

Yeah better safe than sorry. Just seems a little overly cautious. Theoretically the same could happen to the iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Maybe they weren’t comfortable the Watch was mature enough yet but I think it’s probably there now.

Hope it improves the battery life on the Ultra. Battery was fantastic at launch, then got killed by updates.
Decreased battery life after updating WatchOS is not uncommon. When it happens, I typically fix it by resetting the watch and setting it up like new again. I’ve had to do this after several WatchOS updates on my S4. This usually fixes the issue for me, and is an acceptable fix for me as I’m in no way attached to any of the data that might be lost by doing so. Of course, YMMV.

I normally fix this by completely shutting down my Apple Watch a few days after an update and if there was a battery hit, it usually fixes it. Same with my iPhones and iPads after an update.

I say it’s much less likely to happen to the iPhone and iPad because their batteries hold a lot more charge even at 50%.
