This did not fix wireless CarPlay with VW Tiguan 2023.

If I turn on airplane mode, it will connect via the cable.
Then I just turn airplane mode off again.

I have tried deleting the phone in the car settings, removing wifi connection and Bluetooth, restarting the phone etc.

When you repair the phone it asks if you want to use both wired and wireless CarPlay. If you choose both it does not work.

It did work flawlessly for years before 18.4

I guess it depends on the GM car. I had no issues with wireless CarPlay on 18.4 in my Bolt with two different iPhones.
While there is a GM problem, I have gone round and round in my Buick Encore GX and think existed before 18.4.0. Tried multiple times "forget this phone" on both, total shutdown and restart before setting back up as "new". Hangs on bluetooth with "waiting for message" but no message ever shows on phone. etc. Getting oil change in a few weeks and will bring up the issue with service department...updating to 18.4.1 first. At 30K miles, close to out of warranty.

It would be nice if Apple created their own wireless CarPlay adapter (for cars that only have USB CarPlay) so that we wouldn’t have to rely on unreputable third-party companies to create them
My wireless ones keep dying after a while. It's weird, like they are built to fail.

The only CarPlay issues I’ve had in my ‘25 Ford Bronco Sport is when the telematics control unit (TCU) locks up. It would randomly drop and reconnect to CarPlay. I was told by customer service I had to take my vehicle to the dealer to have them reset TCU. I used FORScan to do it myself.

I had wireless and also cable connection issues with my 2025 Honda CRV. I tried unpairing, rebooting iPhone, deleting from CarPlay list, update the iOS, etc. Then I did a reset of the infotainment system and that worked for me. You can do a reset from the settings menu. Warning- the reset will delete all your settings and preferences of the infotainment. Hope this helps.

That’s great. Now they need to fix the always on display screen glitch on the 16 pro and pro max

This "fix" did not fix my CarPlay issue. It produced the same result. This one wasn't even a phone call—it was a Teams call. It seems like any audio call. I have since removed the device from the car, rebooted it, removed it from my phone, rebooted it, and then re-paired it. The short trial worked, but the last time I had the issue, it took about 5 minutes into the call before it disconnected the CarPlay session.

What I did find was that while using CarPlay, if I used my AirPods, no issue. Only when the call was going through the CarPlay. I did submit a bug report.

I just want a fix to the audio leveling… when I connect with raw bluetooth the volume on my speakers are normal, but through CarPlay the volume needs to be set so much higher (and still never seems to be enough yet I worry about blowing out my speakers)

Have tried everything re: the iOS settings for limiting audio volume for hearing damage etc, equalizers.

Does anyone else run into this? Using a Sony XAV-AX6000 head unit.

CarPlay connect fine. Siri is what doesn’t work and broke. Hope this fixes it.
Something to look forward to…
iOS18.5b3
Messages and WhatsApp in CarPlay:
Siri reads a message
Siri, “Do you want to reply?”
Me, “No”
Siri, “Sending, ‘no’”

Add in GM, I've been having issues with it not wanting to connect since the 18.4 update. Rebooting the phone always restored the connection.

I take back all the mean things I said about my car (a 2024 Cadillac Lyriq) now that I know it's Apple's fault. 😄
Interestingly, I didn't have any issues in my new Traverse.

This "fix" did not fix my CarPlay issue.
The connection fail and on the phone it just wait, trying to connect.
