People over 15 have ringtones? Holy crap.

Heh! I'm 64 and I use ringtones. Right now my main ringtone is the Monday Night Football music...My staff love it when it goes off in the middle of my staff meetings! I change to match the seasons...

Everything gray is great.

Or maybe that's just my opinion.

Word. My phone has a stock ringer. It amuses me when people leave their ringer on in public places so we can all hear Flo-Rida's "Low" when they receive a phone call. They're so cool:rolleyes:.

People actually make fun of me because I have a "professional" ring on my phone. (It's the ring from the original iPhone ads...the one that is not actually a stock ring on the phone, strangely enough.)

No big loss. Someone at Apple probably just felt sorry for anyone ignorant enough to pay to use the feature and mercifully killed it. =)

I wish they'd stop selling the pre-rolled ringtones. But that'll never happen. It's tacky enough that people have song ringtones, even tackier how much Apple charges for them.

Songs should not be ringtones. Period. You wanna know who's calling? Use various pre-installed ringtones, download some subtle, non-obnoxious sound effects, etc. If you must, use a SHORT instrumental clip from a song that has a ring-like quality to it. But if you have 30+ seconds of "Born in the USA" or "In Da Club" playing over and over again, because you left your ringer on, are away from your desk, didn't take your cell with you, and some crazy family member is calling you over and over again, then all you are doing is making everyone in the office HATE that song.

So maybe iTunes is doing a small favor by killing the feature.

Now why can't we have the old Visializer button back?? At least as an option. That I (still) miss. /rant

Step 1: Choose the song in your library you want to turn in a ringtone, and select get info.

Step 2: Set the start time and stop time to match the section of the song you want to use as your ringtone.

Step 3: Convert selection to AAC.

Step 4. Drag the AAC version to your desktop.

Step 5: Get info, convert extension to .m4r

Step 6: Drag back into iTunes, and BAM! Custom ringtone, made for free.

my point I was going to make to! and it's easy to

When someones phone rings and its a music ringtone, their IQ drops about 20 points in my assessment.

No View Option Either

I noticed there is no view option for a ringtone in iTunes anymore guess they did away with them all together :apple:

Have you ever been around a lot of people who have the same phone as yours and everyone uses the stock ringtones?
When someone receives a call, mass confusion ensues.

I'm still waiting for Apple to make the text and Email alerts customizable. Especially Email, since you cannot change it at all.

Custom ringtones don't necessarily mean some horrible pop song blaring on someone's phone.

The condescending comments on custom ringtones get tiring.

Or...you can still make ring tones with Garage Band and export them to itunes.
