Nope, there's no issue there, you're allowed to do that all day but Macrumors could shut you down because your speech here isn't free.

This has nothing to do with anything.

Oh, he did reference the first amendment. Maybe you need some more context? Stop trying to be difficult.

The piece you quoted: "It would seem that you really don't. You can't just support protected speech when it's convenient. It's the speech that is objectionable to the majority that specifically needs the protection."

I don't see the first amendment referenced here. If he did so elsewhere then I guess I missed it.

This is a silly reply. I am not "insisting" anything, they announced their censorship actions in plain English. The fact that I am free to criticize them on a discussion forum has no bearing on podcast censorship.

I'm sorry the impressiveness of your previous post is lost on you. :(

They also censor porn apps on the app store. Your criticism is unwarranted.

My criticism is just as warranted as your silly replies.

This guy is a full time liar who is breaking the law and hurting people.

What laws is he breaking?

I'm sorry the impressiveness of your previous post is lost on you. :(

I'm sorry you're unable to articulate a cogent point.

Please refer to my other posts in this thread as to "public square," the first amendment can and has been applied to privately owned property.

As to why I would defend Alex Jones' free speech? Because free speech is precious and can be eroded by society reacting to extreme examples.

I started my posts in this thread by explaining that I detest that man but I'll restate it now. Regardless of what a repugnant person he is the concept of free speech needs to be defended and the first amendment applied to changing digital landscapes.

It's amazing to me how many people have no idea how 1A works. Just amazing.

Then take it to court, that's what a judge is for.

Alex Jones is exactly the type of thing that will hurt free speech in the long run. Free speech, unchecked, leads to misinformation. That's why we have libel laws, and he breaks them constantly. Enough that platforms like Apple's do not want to be associated with it.

I can support what want from free speech in a digital landscape but it has to be regulated by first removing anonymity so libel laws can be upheld.

Silly replies. Ugh, done with you kid.
What laws? Do some research before you continue with the stupid comments.

Alex Jones is anonymous?

Another silly reply. It's not on me to do research for the claims *you* are making. What laws is he breaking?

Alex Jones isn’t just some right winger being “silenced”. He is a dangerous propagandist who peddles preposterous lies that have caused real-world damage. Good riddance.

lol real world damage? wow...

This is a horrible move which sets a dangerous trend.

I’m not a fan of AJ either but come on now, be a big boy about it.

What you missed was the person saying he supports the 1A, followed by "It would seem that you really don't." Then my comment.

Yes, real world damage. He's being sued left and right. He has convinced his following that Sandy Hook never happened, do you feel like telling the parents of those children to be big boys about it while they're being threatened for "faking" their child dying? How about the Pizzagate conspiracy?

He declared Democrats were going to start a new civil war on July 4 recently. Of course that's dangerous.

A private company stating they don't wish to be in business with someone like that is not censorship. The right needs to stop screaming like snowflakes when sane outlets reject this kind of ugliness.

It has gone to court. My comment about anonymity was not a reference to Alex Jones but to the number of blogs out there spreading misinformation under the guise of anonymity. Finally, this is all current news, do you really not know what's going on with Alex Jones? And if not, why do you think you know what you're talking about?

Good job Apple, the less airtime this idiot get's the better. He's a vile human being, claiming that a high school shooting was a hoax is just sick and offensive to the parents who's children were killed.
It seems you have gone with the mainstream media narrative, never listening or seeing what he said for yourself.
We can all kiss our freedom of speech, goodbye, soon. Can you please link me your video/audio proof of him saying this very thing?

More left wing companies removing freedom of speech
[doublepost=1533553428][/doublepost]Im sorry but now days hate speech is speaking out againt the main stream media, right wing youtubers dont always say hate they just speak the truth but are silenced by the left

What info Wars is doing shouldn’t even rise to the level as “speech”
They are a dangerous propaganda outlet that have caused real world damage.

Case in point: through their propaganda, parents of the Sandy Hook massacre have had to go into hiding because this nutjob stated on his show that they were a government plant. They revealed their address info online which caused the family, STILL GRIEVING FROM THE DEATH OF THEIR CHILD, to get credible death threats from infowars listeners.

**** this guy. He is a danger.

It's amazing to me how many people have no idea how 1A works. Just amazing.

so you agree with me then? Because I certainly understand the first amendment.

Then take it to court, that's what a judge is for.

Waaaaay back in my first post I suggested that is what he should be doing. If I were in his shoes I would. Further he seems like the kind of guy who wants all the attention he can get and that would certainly provide more for him.

Those who have been libeled should absolutely file suit. Again, if I were in their shoes I would. (I'm starting to sound litigious)

I can support what want from free speech in a digital landscape but it has to be regulated by first removing anonymity so libel laws can be upheld.

I don't know how I feel about removing anonymity. There are cases were the lack of anonymity itself can have chilling effects. I'd be open to the discussion though.

Maybe the government should implement some sort of credit score type rating system but based on what you say and do online and let people vote or rate you. That way companies like facebook, youtube and google could look at that score and limit access to your content to only people with similar scores or not at all.

What a stupid comment, maybe your views are the problem
Other than the grammatical typo, what makes this a stupid comment? Please elaborate, because this is is the opinion of a majority of Americans and an even larger majority of people around the world.

I think most of us are aware that Alex Jones is a massive prick. But do we need Tim Cook to be the speech police? On one hand he espouses principles like privacy and how Apple won’t compromise itself even if it means law enforcement, for example, can’t get into a terrorist’s phone after murdering a bunch of people. A stance I agree with. But when it comes to an Alex Jones podcast, suddenly, big principles go out the window, nobody can handle the world without Daddy Cook setting the tone?

Come on.

The WORST thing you can do to dumb, gross, evil, or offensive voices is attempt to silence them. It strengthens their resolve and piques the curiosity of the public as it now has the allure of being forbidden. Shine the light on it instead.
