Please refer to my other posts in this thread as to "public square," the first amendment can and has been applied to privately owned property.

As to why I would defend Alex Jones' free speech? Because free speech is precious and can be eroded by society reacting to extreme examples.

I started my posts in this thread by explaining that I detest that man but I'll restate it now. Regardless of what a repugnant person he is the concept of free speech needs to be defended and the first amendment applied to changing digital landscapes.

Wrong wrong wrong, the First Amendment does NOT cover this at all.

Because "social justice", just like "hate speech" can be defined in an infinite number of ways. And since right now ALL major social media is controlled by the left, they get to decide who gets shut down. As a thinking person I don't want someone else to tell me what is right or wrong. If a content provider is considered offensive or nuts, it is because someone else has painted them in that light. But I want to listen to both sides and decide for myself. If I think they are wrong I simply don't listen to them any more. I want that right.

I believe the earth is round but I want to hear to the flat-earthers side of it. Same with 9/11, the moon landings, and other "conspiracy theories". We all have the right to hear and decide for OURSELVES.

Today it is difficult to hear both sides because the MSM and Social Media companies are shutting down opposing ideologies via tar and feather tactics that amount to slander. Words like Nazi and a whole playbook of words that end in ism and/or ist are used to attack and shut people down. Unproven accusations have become the norm for silencing opposing opinions. Did it go to court and was he actually convicted? No, but I read on Facebook and Twitter that he was guilty.....

The left accuse the right of being fascists, yet it is THEY who are shutting down dissenting opinion everywhere. And that is EXACTLY what fascists do. And that alone, scares the h_ll out of me because that is a VERY slippery slope.
You realize you are accusing the left of what the right is doing... right? Seriously, all the right does is try to shut down the MSM as if it is all leftist propaganda, when I’m reality they are just reporting on all the Rights’s BS. All trump says these days is Fake News!!! And No collusion! Come on now. Even you used the MSM as a scapegoat. Edit: I’ll say it again, if the right doesn’t want to be called fascists or racists or nazis, they should stop hanging out with them or worse yet voting for them.

Multiple pages used by far-left militia groups to organize and call for "revolutionary violence" are still up. Why is that?

Patiently awaiting for one example of a left-wing MSM outlet being banned or censored.

You guys have turned into full-blown authoritarians and your only comeback is "I know you are,m but what am I?"

1. Note the :p
2. What would cause him to win the election is the further conservative acceptance of his corruption and lies.

Depends entirely who is floated against him by the Democrats (and what their overall platform is).

Not the identification of racism and xenophobia in his base.

I have yet to encounter a convincing argument that there is any more of this present in Trump’s base than the opposition.

Hence the snowflake virus ;) Especially in U.S. where something someone doesn't like to hear is basically hate speech for them. Rationality doesn't exist it seems.

Like it is only a liberal issue.

This objection holds no weight until defending things you don't like, or don't agree with.

Snowflake-in-chief is a fine example:

If any person running for or holding public office can silence unwanted voices on a whim, why would anybody think a for-profit company cannot?

If you don't like Apple (or any other company) doing it, then you don't like elected leaders doing it.

...Or is that too rational?

What makes them left wing? Also when did one extremist group represent the larger portion? That would go for both sides.

He hasn't silenced anyone. When CNN gets censored and banned from the tech monopoly platforms after a coordinated attack, then you can run with that spin.

If you don't like Apple (or any other company) doing it, then you don't leaders doing it.

"Leaders" aren't doing it.

...Or is that too rational?

Not in the slightest.

What makes them left-wing? LOL. The hammer and sickle might be a clue. The fact they call themselves left could also be a clue.

Such as? What fascist, racist and/or Nazi has been voted into office in the U.S. recently? I’d like to know.
I don’t know if any made it in to office but they have gotten on the ballet, and they definitely aren’t running as a Democrat. When the KKK votes, they vote GOP.
Edit: that’s the nazis, the racist who won recently would be The president.

Iv never heard of them and nothing you posted shows that they call themselves left, hence why I asked. Just going off the pics alone makes it look like some troll group. You still didnt answer the other question, how does some fringe group represent a whole?

I'll remember that when Republicans pass voting restrictions on minorities under the guise of protecting against voter fraud.

I have yet to encounter this mythical minority that is somehow incapable of obtaining a state ID card. I am open to evidence demonstrating otherwise.

Forgive me, but you’ll have to be more specific. The level of alarm that I would perceive depends entirely on how difficult it is to get on a ballot in some random jurisdiction. What does it take? A dozen loonies registering a party to get on? Another few dozen of his friends vote for him? I’m not really concerned. Something more substantial? You have my attention and there may be a problem.

In what way is he racist?

Well, I'll provide an example from my devil's advocate basket of goodies:

Here in the Bay Area we've had a problem with crime on the BART train system. Most of the crime occurs in the East Bay, particularly areas of Oakland. Most of the perpetrators of the crime are black, in particular a few instances when waves of black teenagers swarmed the trains and stole phones and tablets out of riders' hands. BART police were notably quiet about reporting this, and the race of the perpetrators was not initially mentioned (despite the fact that it's often mentioned in describing criminals). BART police have been repeatedly criticized for not publicizing the crime that occurs on the trains and at the stations. It's not racist to say that black teenagers have been committing crimes on BART. It's a fact. But fear of being labeled racist may have led to these instances being underreported.
This happens on a Michigan Avenue in Chica

talk about a conspiracy theory.

Lol. Trump is a Nazi. See, that’s where you people go completely overboard and lose all credibility. Nazi..sure. No wonder nobody takes the left seriously.

I think it’s racist to assume black people cant figure out how to get a state ID
[doublepost=1533592227][/doublepost]
Perhaps, but I do not like you or Apple making that call. And they just martyred him.[/QUOTE

They sure did

Jones strikes me at the kind of guy who will get drunk and drive his car into a building, and his followers will treat him like Elvis.
Or if a Bernie Sanders supporter shot him with an AR-15, like they did to Steve Scalise.

I have yet to encounter this mythical minority that is somehow incapable of obtaining a state ID card. I am open to evidence demonstrating otherwise.

Let's look at Texas as an example. In order to obtain a State ID you need one of the following documents: a valid U.S. passport, U.S. military ID card, driver's license, U.S. Certificate of Citizenship or Certificate of Naturalization.

- People born in the US are unable to obtain the latter two.
- Only people that go to the military have a military card.
- Poor people may not have driver's license, much less a passport.

Let's not forget that voting restrictions are not only about voters IDs. There is enough evidence that even courts are striking down these measures.
