Villagers lynch five men in India over child kidnap gang claims spread on WhatsApp

The attacks, which took place in Dhule in the western region of Maharashtra on Sunday, saw five people bludgeoned to death.
It was the latest in a string of such attacks across the country in recent months blamed on WhatsApp messages spreading rumours about groups of child kidnappers.

Meanwhile, the MSM has run articles likening Trump supporters to Nazis / “fascists”, advocating for violent terorrist group Antifa as being “peace through violence”, and directly attributed everything wrong in the world to Trump and people who support him.
Conservatives love that learned a new word ("Antifa") after Charlottesville to trot out in yet another case of false equivalence. While ignoring that almost all political violence against people in the last 50 years in the US has been right wing.

Update for the “conspiracy theory” guys (who know nothing of conspiracies or theories). Yesterday:

Mailchimp de-platformed Jones.
Disqus de-platformed Jones.

But there’s no conspiracy here, right? There’s no organized effort from Alt-Left dominated tech companies here, right?

The lawsuits battles are going to be amazing. The payouts, hopefully more so.

Correct. It's just companies deciding the potential lawsuits aren't worth putting up with Jones's special brand of dumb racist lunacy.

I don't care which way Alex Jones swings on the political spectrum. I'd be just up in arms if this was done to a left wing independant news source as well, or any news sorce regardless of which way they swing. Both sides should have the right to say their piece without being unfairly censored.

That’s what’s really interesting here.

Why are so many self-identifying liberals, who claim “tolerance” and “acceptance” and “for the little guy” in full-support of censorship of people they dislike? They’ve cloaked themselves in feel-good sound-good terms they know nothing of and certainly don’t live by.

What happened to their supposed ethics? What happened to their supposed principles? They’ve lost all the moral high ground they pretended to have.

This thread is illuminating in that it exposes all the supposed “liberals” who claim to be for these things vs those who actually support them. The authoritarian leftist vs the classical liberal.

Free speech laws aren’t written for “polite” speech, they’re written for “offensive” speech, for controversial speech.

Look at the number of justifications so many hard-core “liberals” stated to support censorship of a little guy. It’s interesting to me to see the classical liberals and independents and conservatives so much more tolerant and principled than the self-described “liberals” and that such tolerance bothers them.

There is no alt-left as you describe it. I think all the media attention this is getting is making people realize what a POS Jones is and they are running away from at full speed. It’s a good thing. The system is working. Jones will go back to being the fringe nut-job he is.

1. Free speech laws don't apply to this situation at all.
2. Infowars isn't being de-listed for controversial speech or conservative speech or speech that is disliked. They are being de-listed for hate speech.

I wonder how many more times someone on the right is going have the vapors over this? It's not surprising that these companies don't want to be in business with him, it's just surprising it took this long.

“Free speech laws” are irrelevant here. Apple is a private company that acts to aggregate links to podcast feeds. They have no obligation under any law to include anyone’s podcast. They could legally decide tomorrow that Marc Maron is no longer worth listing. That is entirely their right.

I know this has been posted on this thread before, but it deserves a second post.

Counterexample: The KKK are Democrats.
Counterexample: Most of the crazed shooters who become the posterchildren for Democrat gun confiscation efforts voted Democrat.
Counterexample: The Republican baseball shooter was another Democrat.

You've listed one guy, in one instance, who was very mentally deranged, and you're pretending that one instance somehow dwarfs everything else. You act like every free speech event and every Trump rally is Charlottesville reincarnated, and you still fail to point out the side that instigated the violence in Charlottesville -- ANTIFA.

I can tell where you are going with this one! You should try to be a little more subtle when you are setting people up for this rant. Alternative facts for the win! :D

No really, tell me what sources I am allowed to use against you that you consider "legitimate".

Also tell me why you consider Breitbart not legitimate.

Hahaha!!!! You lost all credibility there. Your info is about 60-100 years out of date. When the KKK voted in the last election they didn’t vote for Hillary, they voted for Trump. The KKK votes GOP across the board. Maybe there is an independent or two here and there, but they vote for the party with all the white people. It’s kinda their thing.

Lincoln was a Republican!

I didn't describe it. Thousands of people on Urban Dictionary did when they noticed the common bond among authoritarian leftists to control language (like promoting Antifa as "peace through violence"), censor (like shadowbans against conservatives and now de-platforming of InfoWars), and promote violence ("punch a nazi* *guy wearing a MAGA hat").

The Alt-Left is the leftist version of the Alt-Right, the censor-happy, Antifa-supporting, country-hating view that a lot of people even here seem to have.

Anyway, why are you trying to control definitions that others have already specified, comrade?

What hate speech?

Did Apple release the hate speech that is to be avoided?

Or is "hate speech" the left-euphemism for "political speech we dislike" as it increasingly seems, given all the Alt-Left-dominated Tech companies colluded to ban a guy they dislike within 24 hours from virtually every service of theirs he ever signed up for.

Collusion is not a crime. ;)

Lawsuits based upon what? Private tech companies are under no obligation to offer anyone's content.

You are correct, but what happens if Jones can demonstrate a pattern of collusion between these companies with intent to harm and libel?
What happens to the money Jones spent on ads on socials and other services for terminations without notice?
What do shareholders and investors do if the socials keep reporting millions of fewer users than projected?

Lincoln was a Republican!
Lincoln died over 150 years ago! The republicans and the democrats switched ideologies in the first half of the last century.

They would have to prove not only that these companies promoted false claims against Jones, which they haven’t, and that it has done him some kind of harm, on top of that they need to prove that they were working in a coordinated way... which they aren’t. So it would be fun to watch, mostly because they would subpoena all Jones records, but also because Jones would lose his shirt.
