This is a racist and sexist post and incredibly unconvincingly vague post without substance outside of racism and sexism. I’m not sure what to say.

Except I feel sorry for you. And I can perhaps make sense out of why you think Sarah Jeong’s tweets are no big deal. It came to me but I wont say anymore.
Please tell me where I was racist or sexist by pointing out that largely white males were dogpiling us all during the 2014 gamergate/lets just attack all the libruls/lets take down the "leftist" media cluster****?

That's absolutely not racist or sexist. That is a fact. I was there, I saw it happening. That's not a judgement on white guys. btw I am a white guy, white guys are great*. White guys also suck. Saying some white guys did a bad thing doesnt mean I think all white guys are lesser for it. That's where Sarah Jeong's tweets go too far. But it is understandable that while being absolutely bombarded by hate *by largely white males* just for covering the sorts of subjects that she does, and disagreeing with a lot of them, that she would lash out in a "humourous" badly thought out way. Pointing out a reality of demographics is not racism. Repeatedly calling someone racist doesn't make it so.

Please tell me what "came to you"? Lemme guess.. White knighting? Racial self-hatred? Haha. I'm genuinely curious. What do you think I get out of this?

*everything in moderation.

He uses transphobic slurs to score political points. What’s the expectation here? Of course you’re the one who will be called names. They all saw Trump say “No, you’re the puppet” and think this is a viable tactic that works.

The problem is hate speech is a vague term. Based on Liberals definition, some of Samantha Bee’s comments would qualify but how many on the Left shunned her and said her TV show should be off the air? Same thing with Michelle Wolf. Some in the media spoke out but most seemed uncomfortable or annoyed that her comments forced them to have to speak out.

Stating that drag queens should be burned alive and "marched to hell in reverse order" qualifies as hate speech to most people, and that's just one of MANY things he's said.

Funny enough his own website has rules against hate speech.

That is indeed I

Thank u for bringing it up!

I don’t back down

Either Michelle obama wears sex toys when she goes out dancing on the Ellen show, or that is a penis. That’s not my politics talking those are my eyes “talking”.

There’s also recorded many times obama
Mistakenly refers to his wife as Michael and quickly corrects himself. Also other times in dresses she has a bulge. This is the most prominent in action example though. Joan rivers wasn’t kidding when she spoke about Michelle being transgender. But the media feigned outrage over uncomfortable facts.
Lol I had to come back here after widgeteer's post to see what they meant. Whaaat? seriously? have you ever worn tight trousers and danced? You can see where the damn thing is hitching and causing the crease. I have creases in my jeans right now... I guess my jeans are just full of dicks!

You have the weirdest pareidolia where you just see penis where there isn't any. Anyone could make that video and get the same effect. You have bought into an alternate reality.

Also, randomly my name is Michael and even I'VE misspoken and called myself Michelle. It's a really easy mistake to make. I was recently in a freaking art show and they accidentally put Michelle on my name card. Maybe I'm trans! Oh **** no, I have a kid. Oh wait no SO DOES OBAMA. FFS. And the kids look like a mix of Barry and Michelle. I wonder how they pulled that off? Oh, I know.. You. Are. Delusional.

Oh and btw: There are photos of Michelle Obama from childhood, school and university and people who went to school with her who've spoken about it. There are interviews with people who dated and went to prom with her. How far up the internet's conspiracy buthole do you have to go to get to where you are now?

Are you ok?

InfoWars is not always right, but they are not always wrong, either. Like any source, you have to use your brain and check what they are saying to see if it makes sense. The problem is that some people think the MSM is a source of truth and take everything they say as sacrosanct.

That’s a totally facile false equivalency. You are trying to compare mistakes in news reporting to someone who knowingly inflicted unconscionable emotional damage on the parents of murdered young children by pushing false claims that they helped stage their children’s fake deaths. Alex Jones is a vile, hateful piece of crap and gets what he deserves if all mainstream outlets stop supporting his garbage. His free speech rights do not guarantee him a right to publication by third parties.

The problem is that some people think the MSM is a source of truth and take everything they say as sacrosanct. Let's take one example:

InfoWars called the 2016 election was going to be close. NYT, CNN, CBS, ABC, NBC, WashPo, HuffPo… all of them had bogus polling data and pushed it for MONTHS saying it was a blowout, Hillary will win by miles. Why did they all spew the same misinformation? Why did they all cover Hillary glowingly, despite her deep problems and hypothyroidism and fainting and seizures and no life accomplishments? Why did they fire people covering her health issues and gloss over criticism?

Remember the Madam President Newsweek cover? FAKE NEWS.

Remember this cover of lies and projection:

The reality turned out to be this:
cF7Pfz5.jpg

It's the looney left that turned out to be the "crazy nut-jobs spewing hate", with people like Maxine Waters even calling for violence against Trump supporters today.

544 Acts of Media Approved Violence and Harassment Against Trump Supporters

Show me where Alex Jones' actions led to anything similar against Obama or Hillary or Bernie supporters or even anyone. If your response is "well he hurt some feelings", we can't even have a discussion because you're not even equating properly. Alex has tons of videos for you to try to use against me here -- or he did.

Corporate censorship is so cool and trendy! What a hip company! They should release an ad to some vibrant colors and someone dancing. Maybe remove the lightning port from the next iPhone to celebrate.
There is a bunch of ******** in your post, but just two examples of Jones’ nut-job ramblings are a pizza restaurant being terrorized by some moron with a gun and parents of the victims of the sandy Hook shooting getting death threats. Jones and his nut-job followers can go back to the fringe where they belong. Or better yet go away entirely. They are a cancer on our democracy.

I get what you're doing but I wouldn't even try to argue the slur's accuracy. It's akin to arguing with a racist over whether a black person is indeed an n-word. It allows them to set the parameters of the conversation and there is no way I will ever concede to a phobic person that anything they've said out of ignorance or hatred has any validity.*

*I'm not suggesting you're doing that, fyi.

What Apple and others did by censoring Infowars is 100% wrong and very scary.
My comments and thoughts on this are below.

No speech should ever be silenced. This is 100% against the freedom of speech we all cherish.

However all speech should be held to account. This is the best way as it helps those to have better speech that helps to positively contribute more to society.

It seems the big tech companies fail to understand this and just try to remove the freedom of speech from anyone they disagree with.
There is nothing wrong with a difference of opinion. In many ways this is a good thing. It allows both sides to hold each other to account and the actual truth can be exposed for all to see.

People or companies that say “we hate your speech so we will attempt to silence you” are wrong and need to be stopped from doing this.

However those who say “I will inform you of the errors in your speech so you can stop saying them and in the future have better, more positive speech” need to be promoted everywhere.
Media and tech censorship never wins. The public always find a way to hear the information. Better to hear the speech and offer ways in which it could be improved.

Never silence.
Always evaluate and hold to account.
This is how all speech should be treated.

This is a good article explaining what happened and why it happened.

Except no speech was silenced by Apple. Infowars podcasts that did not meet their rules were just removed them from their directory. The feed is still intact. Subscriptions are still work. They still distribute his app. Not really that scary.

Not so. This was part of a larger operation. Apple removed the podcasts that did no wrong apart from not being pro left wing. Google (Youtube), Facebook and Spotify also banned/removed his content on the same day.

This is organised censorship.
You are correct that Apple did not go as far as the rest. The app is still on the app store for the time being, so I've downloaded that. All of these tech giants are making it easier for the public to find speech they agree with and harder for people to find speech they disagree with.

One could argue that a company might have the legal right to do this, if the whole idea that facebook, youtube etc are considered public spaces is not enforcable in court. However the fact they all are only attacking right wing speech really shows how biased they are. If they were purely unbiased they would be promoting people with views from both sides of the political fence. That simply is not happening.

Tech giants should be sticking to making and selling tech and leave the political lobying (that's outside helping their business get more profits) to the political lobbyist groups.

It's like none of you have ever heard of TOS before.
I've read quite a few TOS in my time. Some of them take ages to read as they are really long. Not a single one of them says "we reserve to remove all content on our platform that our company deems against the views held by the side of politics our company prefers".

If you have read any parts of any TOS that says this or similar, please do quote them here so we all can discuss them.

Except you all wouldn't be complaining if Apple was lobbying for conservative causes.
Yes I would. Apple should be sticking to making tech and profits and only lobbying where it directly potentially improves their bottom line.

[doublepost=1533749239][/doublepost]
They are being held to account. That’s why they were removed.
Holding to account and evaluating speech is getting people to have better speech that is more productive to society. In this specific case it would be people pushing for the podcasts to have better quality content. Or content that you and others feel is more truthful.

Censorship on the other hand is removing the podcasts.
Improving is always better than removing.
[doublepost=1533749392][/doublepost]Note Well - to everyone here.

I don't care which way Alex Jones swings on the political spectrum. I'd be just up in arms if this was done to a left wing independant news source as well, or any news sorce regardless of which way they swing. Both sides should have the right to say their piece without being unfairly censored.

Apple didn't say any of that though. You're just projecting because you don't like the decision.

Putting all the grand self-righteousness aside on both sides, the main reason these companies are getting out of business with Jones is because they're probably afraid they're going to be sued someday due to something amazingly stupid and dangerous that he will say/cause.

Apple has every right to decide who they want to be in business with. A guy insisting parents lied about their children being murdered and that the Democrats were going to start a new civil war on July 4th isn't a line in the sand for our rights as citizens. I don't have the right to say whatever I want using this forum. I can argue my pov within the guide lines provided by the forum. If I violate those guidelines, the mods have every right to ban me. That's not denying me speech, it's simply telling me to take my speech elsewhere. If Jones has become so odious that no one wants to be in business with him, that's on him.

Which is another point: I'm supposed to believe that suddenly these companies care more about their political standing rather than MONEY? Really? Jones was cut because he was a liability. That's also the reason why you could point to any number of other folks right or left who probably should get the same treatment but don't - they haven't become liabilities.

Do you seriously think there is any way to make Alex ***** Jones improve his content so it isn’t just BS conspiracy theories and vague threats to liberals?! Apple did the right thing here. There is no reason they should provide a platform for nut-jobs like him. He isn’t mainstream, and Apple shouldn’t legitimize his craziness. Let him go scream at passers by on some street corner or just post his stupid conspiracy theories on his own site.

Alex Jones isn’t a news source. Info Wars is a BS conspiracy site for nut-jobs. There is no legitimacy to his ramblings whatsoever. Also, a real news source shouldn’t have any swing on the political spectrum. AP and NPR are probably the best in this regard, but Fox News is some of the worst and shouldn’t even be considered news. Info Wars is 10 steps past them.

You will never know if you don't try. Such a defeatist attitude you have. Also improve his content doesn't mean make it more favourable to what you or I or anyone else like. It's about making it more factual with less spin. It's not all BS as you claim, there's a good deal of fact to what he says as well.

If YOU do not like his style of news then go find someone else you do like. Hating on him just because YOU do not like it is totally wrong. I don't like all of his content either, but that's ok, there should be a place for content I don't like either because others might just like it.

“A good deal”?... no. Even a broken clock is right twice a day, but I certainly wouldn’t consider that a good deal of fact. He is a nut-job. I’ve heard more reliable facts from muttering homeless people out in front of my local 7-11. He has his own site that he can misinform, threaten, and sell his worthless crap from. He doesn’t need Apple. His crazy followers will seek out his fecal musings.

Where is the direct attribution of either of your cited events being caused directly by Jones? Did he ever advocate threatening someone and pulling a gun on them, or sending death threats to people? You are speculating and supposing and clearly have never listened.

Meanwhile, the MSM has run articles likening Trump supporters to Nazis / “fascists”, advocating for violent terorrist group Antifa as being “peace through violence”, and directly attributed everything wrong in the world to Trump and people who support him.

Update for the “conspiracy theory” guys (who know nothing of conspiracies or theories). Yesterday:

Mailchimp de-platformed Jones.
Disqus de-platformed Jones.

But there’s no conspiracy here, right? There’s no organized effort from Alt-Left dominated tech companies here, right?

The lawsuits battles are going to be amazing. The payouts, hopefully more so.
