I disagree -- just by the reviews one can find hidden gems that you might want to buy. So yes, I find them useful.
You find them useful because you want to find them useful. Hop on Google and search for “buy reviews”. You can buy reviews for just about anything these days, which proves that the reviews are completely useless because you can’t tell which reviews are real and which reviews were purchased by the product/service owner. Finding reviews useful in today’s digital age, especially with AI able to mimic reality so well, is nothing more than wishful thinking and power of suggestion.

Anyone who feels that reviews/ratings are useful usually has their perception skewed by the review/ratings themselves; believing that something is useful doesn’t actually make it useful.

I will have to try this. I spent £9.99 on old movies and some go on sale for £3.99

I do too mainly for keeping a log of my library, but the only issue with Blu-ray.com is the database is updated by its own forum members so there’s no guarantees every title will be covered, no guarantees information is up to date or correct.

This library bug has plagued me for years and is Terrifying.
I’m at 5,500+ movies and also 500+ unique tv shows.
I am on my umpteenth support case to Apple and they always go stale with no resolution.
I’m so scared all my purchases will just vanish since the Library in the TV app does absolutely nothing for me in iOS or iPadOS or MacOS.

I wish I could do something in light of Apple’s inaction to fix the bug for me. I am on 17.1.1, for example, on my iPhone. No library still.

My only consistent hope has been successfully using the iTunes movies and tv shows apps and even then, only on the Apple TV box.

Whenever I got the iPhone 13 Pro and iPad 9 upon release dates, none of my titles came in on the TV app. I had to manually sign in and out of my account multiple times on the TV app. They eventually came in after doing this several times. This was with iOS/iPadOS 15. I know of at least one more person who had success with this course of action.

tvOS was a different story. It was simply broke until tvOS 17.1. They came in automatically upon installing that.

It’s likely Apple responding the content owners new licensing terms.

Interesting. This is the reason huge numbers of people either keep buying physical (and digitise it), or simply just pirate: you own the content forever (just buying a huge HDD box to store it all on).

<add company name here> promising you access to future download of past purchases is completely nebulous, as they can basically rescind future access at any time (usually covered by their T+C's, of course), or worse, they only offer stream-only access to purchases (such as Apple's 4K policy of being stream-only not downloadable), so you then cannot even download their DRM'd copy to keep.

It's ridiculous when you think about it, as the loyal buyers get potentially shafted, while the pirates get to keep everything without issue.

So with all these changes, can we still download music from the new app on a Mac? Or is this now a thing of the past?

Certainly. Add something to your library. It will end up in Your Mac User -> Music, Music, Media, Apple Music, Artist, Artist title, .m4P file heiearcy. It will be a protected MPEG-4 audio file.

Anyone knows how to access movies that were added to a wishlist from before
the update?

Thank you

A problem that has always existed with the TV app is that content that is in HD on one of your connected streaming services will not show that 4K is available for purchase. This needs to be rectified. This was not an issue with the iTunes Store.

Goes to another extreme in the UK, it shows the likes of Star Trek Strange New Worlds as being 4KDV.
We don’t even have 4K for Paramount+, let alone via Apple 🤦🏻‍♂️

Ridiculous price gouging leading companies to attaining historically high profits and the lack of option to actually own stuff these days means that some uses are going to be pushed towards other more… how can I say… Caribbean methods using apps like Transmit to obtain their shows.

And a great thing about these nautically questionable shenanigans is you’re not restricted on where and how you watch them, the types of operating system do you need or the types of displays that include HDCP et cetera And can often obtain them at a higher resolution.

Oh and don’t get me started on apps phoning home every time your kid picks their nose.
What is the Transmit method? Just curious

You need to scroll down a bit further to How To Watch and select your preferred option.

It’s absolutely pointless to have the channels if when selecting something that particular channel isn’t the priority.
Right. But for it to recommend apps I don’t have over the ones I do doesn’t make sense.

If you really think about it, user reviews and ratings have no real value to begin with because they are based on opinion. The same goes for likes and dislikes. Who exactly writes those user reviews and ratings? Are their likes and needs identical to mine? Was their review or rating skewed because they just came out of a bad relationship and now they are mad at the world? Did they have a grudge against one or more of the actors because they didn’t like the way the script was written? Were those people paid to write their review/rating? Did they register more than one account in an attempt to sway public opinion with their reviews and ratings?

It is OK to have an opinion, but expecting other people to value that opinion is a lesson in futility.
This guy is a serious Apple bootlicker. You can read all the reviews and get a general feel.

The real reason they've been removed is because some director made a crappy movie and whined and cried when people said it sucked.
