These people are the real enemies of America. Remember, they don't believe in your right to vote, because they do not believe in Democracy: the idea that your vote should be allowed to determine your government. Democracy is the central idea of the US government.

It's extremely important to control these people's speech. They are under the mistaken impression that they have unlimited free speech.

You do not have a right to unlimited free speech. There are a hundred limits on speech, from copyright to sedition. People need to understand that, and Apple is well within their right to limit speech. Twitter did a great post analyzing his language and his incitement of insurrection, when they banned him.

So very sad that people actually argue to “silence their voices”, and then have the gall to say other people don’t believe in democracy. Some day you will hopefully understand that all voices matter, not just the ones you agree with. Democracy most definitely does not mean everyone is supposed to agree on everything.

And to try to justify this silencing of voices by saying people were ‘threatening’ is no justification at all. People of all viewpoints say things that can be taken as a threat. We just spent the last year watching parts of our cities being taken over and occupied... all of which was being coordinated and discussed on these social platforms, and I seriously doubt you or anyone saying what you are saying voiced a single word of complaint about that. Because to you that was ok, because you agreed with the message.

A small number of people took advantage of those protests to riot and loot. The second group of people are the problem, not the first.

Similarly, what happened earlier this week started out as a protest. Then a smaller group of those people, encited to violence by Trump, marched on the Capitol and began rioting and committing sedition. The second group of people are the problem, not the first.

Now as it relates to the topic at hand, Parler is being removed because they failed to implement a policy of moderating the incitements to violence and planning of acts of sedition from their platform.

The only folks encouraging totalitarianism are the people who committed sedition against our democracy and those like you who are excusing it.

That will never happen. Apple has great reasons why they don’t do that. Their privacy practices is one of biggest things that distinguishes them from the competition. Open up iOS to other app stores or side loading and you throw that out the window.

The difficult thing about this specific case is that I agree with you to an extent.

The problem is, I don't trust Apple or anyone else to be responsible about where the line is drawn. Especially when they are the sole gatekeeper of iOS apps.

Open up iOS to other app stores and Apple can ban whatever tickles their fancy.

There are good and valid technical reasons for approving whatever goes to the Apple Store. Google does a much poorer job, and as a result there is a ton of malware on the Google Store, vs almost none on the Apple Store.

If you want to install whatever you want on your iPhone, its a technical process called jail-breaking.

As for censorship, I can still open Safari on my iMac and go to Parler.com. Apple is not censoring me in any way.
