Just going to leave this here for all the people who sympathize with the violent far-right and complain about not having "free speech"

Of course I did, but I'm still trying to find proof of this violent content. Without proof, it seems like Apple just hates people who, dare I say, think different.
Is "thinking different" what you call actively planning violent acts inside of the next two weeks, open discussion about murdering politicians, etc.? Because THAT IS LITERALLY what is going on on Parler.

I'm so glad that the GOP is toast. No more power. No more Mitch in charge of the Senate. No more Twitter for Trump. The garbage, it is getting THROWN AWAY.

It’s funny how liberal lefties didn’t say a word all summer long when the democrats was causing a race divide that’s what they do best they want everything to be about race to cause riots and they all stayed very quiet while 300 people died and cities burnt down but now they wanna pipe up over a few people walking into the capital and taking selfie’s with police

Blm and the rioters spent all summer burning cities to the ground and looting and they all used social media like twitter and Facebook to spread the word so why wasn’t that banned of yeah it’s because they are the left, the right are peaceful apart from a few fools that was let in the capital and had selfies with officers and now all hell broke loose all the democrats that didn’t stop talking about how bad it was at the capital was fine all summer long cities being burnt to the group they called them peaceful protests, this is an attack of speech from people they don’t agree with

This is exactly the problem. No consistency from big tech.

It's funny how you call multi-racial groups coming together to demand equality for all people "causing a race divide," but the folks who were involved with the coup attempt wearing swastikas and other garments of racist white power fascism are... what? Believers in equal rights and racial unity? LOL!

Give it up. The GOP is now officially, for the record, the party of racists. Some of them have begun to embrace it much more openly, and I assume this trend will continue. Get with the times!

Thank you for calling half of this country "garbage". Thank you for demonstrating that the self-proclaimed "party of tolerance" is actually the most intolerant bunch around.

Hi. There was no race divide. I’m a liberal, pinko, commie, lefty scumbag, and I did criticize the rioting and looting, though. But I also understand nuance.

Can you criticize the Nazis, actual Nazis, that have latched onto your party and its leader?

We weren’t causing a race divide, we were protesting a race divide. A divide caused by white people that feel it’s okay for the police to murder black and brown people.

Oh yeah blm burning cities down with antifa and looting TVs is doing it for racial equality lol all this over a policeman killing a man that there’s no prove it was my because he was black, it’s always a race issue when it’s white on black there was no prove it was race related the policeman was a bad man and deserved to be done for murder but blm don’t care about it they burnt black businesses are many black people don’t support the Marxist group

I do believe Big Tech is much more sympathetic to BLM rioting, but it's a difficult comparison because they had no leader calling for it. Or if they did, I'm upset they weren't de-platformed but not upset that Parler and Trump were.

Apple is demanding that Parler be responsible for the content posted by its users.

So basically Apple is demanding that Parler waive its Section 230 protections while lobbying to retain their own 230 privileges.
These are lies, dirty lies. Apple has told Parler that they need to make an attempt at moderating content that Apple does not allow on any app they distribute through the app store, period. They need to have a moderation policy. They need to TRY.

The problem with that is, Parler is literally a place that was set up to give white power neo nazi fascists who were getting kicked off of mainstream social media a place to go. It's the BUSINESS PLAN.

But please, keep trying to convince us that the racist fascists who are still trying to overthrow our democracy, via platforms like Parler, are the good guys. I'm not going to hold my breathe while I wait for you to convince me.

While perhaps a good idea in theory, the EU being able to do anything effectively seems to be kind of a joke at this point. I mean geez, they couldn't even hold on to Britain (England -- seems other Brits want to stay in the EU).
You obviously never had to deal with the English directly - even in a corporate environment they tend to want the opposite of what they want even if you let them pick for themselves what they want (yea: makes no sense but that's what it always feels like).
As to the EU we're FAR better off without the likes of Farage. Good riddance.
This is one area where American values of "private property" really do differ from European sensitivities. Allowing one government to decide what speech is allowed on private platforms and what is not strikes me as much more dangerous a slippery slope, than leaving it up to a plurality of private organizations to make their own decisions about what speech is allowed on the platforms they own.
Freedom of speech is not a right to have a platform to broadcast your words, nor the right to have an audience.
It's "merely" the right to think and say what you want (within limits - no yelling fire in a crowded theater!) without the government coming after you for it.

The only difference between the typical European freedom of speech rules/laws and the 1st amendment in the US is that we allow a bit more restrictions in Europe. Those restrictions in Europe typically come and go depending on how society as a whole evolves vs. the rigidity in the US. But in daily life it typically has no impact whatsoever unless you're e.g. a neo-nazi : then it's better to apply for a green card as out in Europe you'll run into major trouble with the law.

But big up on all the environmental stuff EU, we could definitely learn a thing or two in that regard here in the States, this is for sure. (I mean this, not intended to be sarcastic.)
The US had for a while more strict rules than the EU (e.g. the anit-smog rules in California were way ahead of what we had back then in Europe - smog as a word was even unknown out here). It's a dynamic thing who's ahead of whom. The Paris climate accord should have aligned it all a bit more, and likely will again sometime after Jan 20th.
