Yeah the leader of Iran calls for israel
To be wiped of the map and he is still allowed on Twitter, while trump is banned for telling people to go how and respect law and order
But in Jack Dorsey’s mind, Donald Trump saying he wouldn’t attend the inauguration (which Joe Biden said is a “good thing” today) is somehow inciting people to violence.

They are acting like trump supporters are dangerous people are they forgetting Kamala telling the rioters at blm to carry on and all summer liberals spread hatred also on Twitter when trump had covid they all said hope he died, when joe Biden won not one trump supporter started anything at any rallies nothing at all just good people loving their country it was only a few idiots the other day which isn’t trumps fault and how dare they act like it’s dangerous for trump to speak, he didn’t tell anyone to do this he is all about law and order, facebook and twitter is full of radical lefties that helped cause a summer of rage and nothing was done, I’m sick of this and I will still love and use apple products but the company can do one, they are just as bad as all the elites
She drummed up donations to get violent protestors out on bail.
We’re talking about violent protestors, attacking innocent people on the street, not people staying inside velvet ropes and taking pictures of the statues as the police literally stepped aside from them.

Kamala Harris is the terrorist supporter. And, despite essentially no Democrats supporting her in the primary (because she is frightening and repellant), you now can’t wait to be ruled by her and her totalitarian hive. Not being allowed to leave your house, run your business, see your family, see anyone’s smiles has just not been enough. Your birthright was liberty, and you hate it. Madness.

No matter how strongly you believe that this will only get those awful people who don’t support totalitarianism, the totalitarians will come for you next. History guarantees it. It will be small comfort to know that the same people cheering this frightening censorship today will look back on this day with tearful regret... but hey, it’ll be something. 🤷‍♂️

“But free speech!”

Nothing stopping Trump from standing on a street corner spouting crazy with a bullhorn - unless he’s inciting violence or engaging in hate speech.

Apple and Twitter can do whatever they want when banning people. You ever walked into a restaurant and seen this sign?

“No shoes, no shirt, no service.”

I don't know, and when I say this, I'm not a fan of Trump (or Biden for that matter). When the vast majority of media is extremely liberally biased its a tough call to ban an app like this. The only reason Twitter banned Trump is because the media bows to the Obama's every whim, and Michelle decreed that they ban him. If the Democratic party had not asked the Obamas to do so you can bet that this discussion wouldn't even be happening.

People forget that there were an insane number of violent protests when Trump took office. Some were peaceful, but others definitely were not. I don't recall the media stepping in and doing anything like this except supporting all of that protesting, even when violent. The Capitol Building breech was awful and no one should condone it. But the media/corporations in my opinion have far to much of a reach on what people say and think these days and for the most part is absolutely awful in their attempts to appear woke.

Let's be honest here. Facebook is one of the absolute worst companies in the world. They take and abuse people's personal privacy and sell your information like you are a piece of meat. But, all good, leave them alone.

But in Jack Dorsey’s mind, Donald Trump saying he wouldn’t attend the inauguration (which Joe Biden said is a “good thing” today) is somehow inciting people to violence.
Maybe they got sick of him when he, his son, and his farty lawyer literally incited the crowd to violence and a failed Duck Dynasty coup attempt this past Wednesday, which all of us with eyes and brains around the world saw live on television. Did you... miss it?

No application should allow threats of violence and sedition, PERIOD. I don't know a whole lot of reasonable people who disagree with this. But I do see some people complaining that Parler, an app specifically set up to give neo nazis a home online, which was and continues to be actively used to plot violent overthrow of our democracy (you know, that little coup thing that was televised this past Wednesday that the whole world saw?)

And please, saying you've seen violent posts on Twitter just doesn't make it true. Maybe, maybe not. Report them, and yes, let's hope anyone, from any stripe, planning violence on these platforms is banned. Again, nobody of any reason disagrees with this, certainly not on the left.

No but please, keep defending the Proud Boys and the other scum who used Parler from day 1 as their tool to plot violence, totally out in the open, with zero moderation at all. It's a great look for you.

And yet I wonder if you were preaching your words of wisdom to the organizations like BLM and Antifa when they were clearly expressing their intentions on Twitter right? I'll be standing by with your response..........

Well, for starters, this guy still has a Twitter account.

While we're on the topic, can you provide proof of calls for violence on Parler? Or did you just come here to celebrate the suppression of ideas that run counter to your ideology?
Twitter has specific exemptions for world leaders. Same reason Trump wasn't banned when he told Assad he was firing missiles at Syria, but a random guy could get banned for making death threats. Not saying it's right, it's just the reason they gave.

Back for Round 2

Good thing Apple wasn’t an Egyptian company, I guess, as Facebook and Twitter were used as tools in the Egyptian revolution to commit sedition and insurrection. I guess it’s up to 5 tech companies to work out the goodies and the baddies and not law enforcement, due process and the courts

Good start. Silence their voices. Apple should look at banning Facebook as well.

These people are the real enemies of America. Remember, they don't believe in your right to vote, because they do not believe in Democracy: the idea that your vote should be allowed to determine your government. Democracy is the central idea of the US government.

They have yet to explain why your vote is supposed to be erased.

MAGA violence is going to increase, not decrease. Trump never actually disavowed his "incitement of insurrection". Expect more attacks from these terrorists.

It's extremely important to control these people's speech. They are under the mistaken impression that they have unlimited free speech.

You do not have a right to unlimited free speech. There are a hundred limits on speech, from copyright to sedition. People need to understand that, and Apple is well within their right to limit speech. Twitter did a great post analyzing his language and his incitement of insurrection, when they banned him.
How does seeking an audit hinder someone’s right to vote?

since the web version still works it’s not a big deal either way. Just a marketing decision since obviously Apple has no legal liability for what happens on the app.

Supporting the EU in getting it opened.
While perhaps a good idea in theory, the EU being able to do anything effectively seems to be kind of a joke at this point. I mean geez, they couldn't even hold on to Britain (England -- seems other Brits want to stay in the EU).

This is one area where American values of "private property" really do differ from European sensitivities. Allowing one government to decide what speech is allowed on private platforms and what is not strikes me as much more dangerous a slippery slope, than leaving it up to a plurality of private organizations to make their own decisions about what speech is allowed on the platforms they own.

But big up on all the environmental stuff EU, we could definitely learn a thing or two in that regard here in the States, this is for sure. (I mean this, not intended to be sarcastic.)

Due process? Hyperbolic much?

I didn’t realize Apple was imprisoning Matze, Bongino, and Nunes.

Just want to say the way you patronized that poster didn't contribute anything to the discussion and makes it seem like you have no argument against them.

I'm glad the people who vandalized the Capitol Building are getting arrested, but I am also extremely disappointed in how many Americans have been brainwashed by partisan politics into happily giving away their rights.

The ACLU, no fan of Trump, disagrees.
I, for one, do not want Jeff Bezos, Tim Cook, and Sundar Pichai to be the arbiters of what speech we are “allowed” to see.

Brandenburg vs. Ohio establishes a very high threshold for governmental banning of speech. As private companies, Apple, Twitter, etc. have more flexibility but they should exercise good judgment.

Twitter continuing to allow Ayatollah Khamenei to advocate the “extermination” of Israel, and the Chinese Foreign Minister to falsely claim Muslim Uighurs are better off in concentration camps is not a sign of good judgment. Apple giving Parler 1 day to implement unrealistic changes is not good judgment.
******** <--- see censored by MacRumors ... oh nos.

You do know that all sites censor what we say online. This is nothing new.
