There's also still a very worthwhile argument to be had as to whether it's tasteful for private companies to allow apps on their platforms that are being actively used to PLAN, TO PLAN, a violent overthrow and coup of the United States, one that we saw LIVE ON TV THIS WEEK.

You realize the same folks are planning more attacks? On Parler. Right now.

People who vote Republican in modern times are generally either (a) wealthy, and benefit from Republican policies so wisely vote out of self-interest or (b) poor and too ignorant to realize that the Republican platform exists solely to benefit the super-wealthy at the expense of the poor and middle-class.

Conservatives - if they really do exist anymore - need a third party that actually represents conservatism. I'd much sooner respect a party that stuck to those ideals rather than the modern hodgepodge of elite corporatists, xenophobes, racists, and Christian evangelical nutjobs that set the modern Republican Party platform.

Yep. The good folks down in GA who just handed the Senate to the Democrats. And the violence, it was a small peripheral percentage, unlike Trump's mob that was literally assembled to cause violence and attempt a coup.

With Google’s ban, Apple had the incredible opportunity to establish itself as the free-speech alternative, along with being the privacy-minded alternative, to the fearsome and disgusting Google.

Instead, their cultural impulse towards increased censorship led them down a dark and endless path.

I’ve been a single-brand Apple loyalist for 30+ years. Now I’ll be returning the 8 Apple devices I purchased for Christmas, and seeking alternatives at every possible turn as I move away from the company forever.

You totalitarians can commence your little celebration now.

There exist myriad reasons why this hypothetical conservative party is not for me, but I’d welcome it with open arms at the expense of the disgrace that’s been made of the Republican Party at the hands of Trump and his lackeys.

I think Apple is being smart in this regard. Rather than simply take down the app outright, they issued Parler an ultimatum they knew the creators had no way of meeting. Then banned them when the deadline elapsed.

I am only surprised that Apple didn’t take action sooner, but I understand companies hesitating to do anything to antagonise Donald Trump while he was still in power.

You're saying that the BLM riots, which happened months ago, convinced people in Georgia to vote for the Democrat senatorial candidate. Out of all the factors in that election, one of them being that his opponent was a Trump puppet, and approval of Trump is pretty low now.

People need to understand that, and Apple is well within their right to limit speech. Twitter did a great post analyzing his language and his incitement of insurrection, when they banned him.

Sadly, most of that 70million voting for trump does not understand or refuse to understand that unlimited free speech was and will continue to be, not a thing.
