Why do you use so many "?" signs?

And? This does not mean, that the other 400.000+ non-gaming apps in the App Store are worthless for Apple. With over 500.000 apps in the App Store, only around 85.000 are games (< 1/5 of all apps).

Why don't you use ","s? Also, I think you are missing the point. Where did anyone say they were trying to be exclusively for gaming? I did not see that. You can't ignore the fact that they are promoting its ability as a gaming device.

A bet

Since there is no evidence as to why Apple removed the game, it is speculation only as to why and what they will do. So in keeping with the spirit of the game, I am betting that they will revise it and it will reappear as an example of how voice/Siri based implementation can be used in advancing game play (as well as business applications.) The design of the original game was to involve the user in a "social" environment. With the other characters "expressing" themselves verbally. What more logical progression could you find then to allow the consumer to enter the game on the same level. Siri understands you and so will the other players in the game.

if they are just going to get rid of it why not give it away for free??

I mean it's not like it would cost them money doing that.

I think this was the first game I purchased from the App store when the store went online.

Damn. I play this all the time and was hoping for an update soon. It's hasnt worked properly for a while now. Winning a table and taking 12BB to the final is no good to anyone.

With your total winnings, you must play at least 2 hours a day. Get Thyself to Vegas, Man! I have "only" won $60 million to date.

However, I have placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd a combined 25% of games. Perhaps your stats show what a risk taker you are with a combined 16% of 1st, 2nd or 3rd. Glad we are not business partners. :)

Texas called and threatened them with a law suite over unauthorized use of the word "Texas". It will soon reappear with a new name... Where ever you happen to be Hold'em. j/k :D

They'd best not! For one I paid them for it, two they haven't yanked VLC from me, ...

Apple would have no right to take VLC away from you. Apple removed it from the store, because one of the original developers claimed that distributing VLC through the App Store was somehow a GPL infringement. However, if you receive GPL license software, _you_ do have all the rights according to GPL, no matter whether there was or wasn't any infringement on the way to you. So once you have it, it is yours to keep.

Why would the not keep it? It was a quality game. And still is. So gad I bought it when it came out.

At least give an explanation why you killed that app.
It was the best poker game in the app store. :(

If you want to kill a useless app kill that find my friends app!

And ban angry birds :p

I have a general question regarding "delted apps":
I mean, we paid for it and withouth warning Apple pulled it so now, when I set up a new iPhone and don't have the app on my System anymore, I can't use the software that I paid for anymore?

I find this rather unacceptable. Is this case stated in the iTunes terms? You pay for something and have no idea for how long it'll be available?

It actually is stated in the terms & conditions that Apple has every right to remove an app from the app store for any reason at all. It is also stated that all sales are final.

Best Hold 'Em Games

Can anyone recommend an excellent Poker app app for the iPhone? I been looking for a while and not sure which one to get.

I don't know about poker in general, but for Texas Hold 'Em:

* THETA Poker: best AI, most configurable, and fastest play but no hi-res graphics
* World Series of Poker Hold'em Legend: excellent graphics and okay AI
* Poker Superstars III: good game with okay AI, but blinds are a bit high, forcing the action

The "Pro" sequel to THETA Poker is under development. Please email beta@thetapoker.com if you'd like to beta test (Jon Black & SB27, we'd *love* to have you on board).

+Poker picking up the pieces

Hi,

I'm sorry to hear they're leaving. They were about our only decent competition. We just wrapped up an update to +Poker, which is a single-player Hold-em game for the iPad. We're about to release the iPhone and iPod version.

Just the AI is difficult at best, for these types of games, unless the computer player cheats. There just aren't that many single player hold'em games out there, anymore. (but we're trying to fill that niche.)

This is disappointing. I had deleted the game from my phone about a year ago but was thinking recently that I'd like to play it again. While not perfect, I found it to be best of the poker games in the app store.

I have the video iPod version. I thought it was pretty special when I first downloaded it.
