I didn’t enjoy it very much, light and watchable. It is just a question of taste, but instead For All Mankind is a masterpiece for me.

I enjoyed For All Mankind too, but the second half of the season was weaker than the first in my opinion. It got a bit bogged down in some dull sub-plots, while also moving so quickly through "history" that it's in danger of becoming alternate present day rather than alternate history! Still, I look forward to the second season - hopefully it'll be at least as good as the first.

My favourite Apple TV shows so far are Mythic Quest and Long Way Up.

Tangentially, has the also excellent Mythic Quest been renewed for season 2 as well?
Another lovely show with legs and growth potential. And the lockdown special was a minor masterpiece of the Covid era.

I've quite enjoyed it. A very nice show to spend an hour with on a Saturday afternoon and get through a couple of episodes.

I started watching Ted Lasso one night when my wife was doing something else, and knew she too would love. So I ended up re-watching a handful of episodes with her. We both really liked it. It’s an easy to watch show, with both humor and some relatable emotional hooks that pull you in.

Great news, great show. Maybe they could do an American spin off where Nate leaves Richmond to become head trainer for the Boston Red sox, using Ted's team philosophy. Ted could even make guest appearances to pitch in after a few strikes.

I started watching it and instantly disliked the Ted Lasso character.

I persevered with a few more episodes.

Yesterday we finished the season and I’m missing Ted Lasso 😢
It’s exactly that character arc that surprised a lot of initially sceptical viewers IMO. I mean he’s still a bit cringey and annoying (as are some of the tired English stereotypes) but you just can’t help warm to and eventually root for him.

Which funnily enough is basically the same viewpoint as Hannah Waddingham’s character, who incidentally stood out a mile for me. She completely transformed what could have been a clichéd backstory about the jilted bitter ex, into a compelling performance. That scene where Rupert drops the baby news.

The trailer didn't really hook me at first (and lots of competing shows for eyeballs these days...), but after some people I follow on Twitter started raving about it, I gave it a shot. Watched it over the last week or so, ~2 episodes per night after the kids went to sleep.

Loved it - echo what many have said above, it's a great light-hearted comedy with surprising depth and character development, and Ted Lasso himself is a refreshing kind of guy to get to know in this 2020 pandemic/political climate!

Great show. really did not expect much. But the character development and humor is great. Funny heart warming. Show cases human emotions of love, hurt, challenges and humor. We will all grow stronger when covid is over!

Unless something changed, season 2 is happening. It’s delayed by covid but is in production. The teaser trailer for it is out.
Sudeikis said in a recent interview that they are busy writing and that season 2 will most likely be available August of 2021. GREAT news in that they are working on it, sad news release isn't until August next year.

So NBC hired Hunt & Sudeikis to create the promos which gave us Ted Lasso, that NBC owned the rights for. Apple bought the rights to the characters from NBC and then hired the original writers/actors to turn it into a show. That’s why it feels so true to the original promos.

It's definitely close (and some jokes were even recycled from the sketches), but they made some big changes to Ted's character that absolutely work for the series. Series Ted is much kinder and smarter than Sketches Ted. The former contributes to the show's surprising amount of heart. Cheers to Hunt and Goldstein for making alterations to the original character and fleshing them out brilliantly.

Same exact thing happened to me. Watched the first two episodes and thought it was silly but continued on. Excellent show.

Hands down easily my favorite show of the last 5 years. What a revelation. Apple TV+ is worth it just to support this show, let alone the many many other incredible series and movies. Good on Apple for giving this out of the box idea strong backing.

Go read this thread for a little bit of fun...

I stand by my posts. I haven't been this proud (and relieved) in a while.

I didn't realize that the creator of Scrubs was on the show, too, so that kind of explains the richer character development to me. The comedy/heart of that show is all over Ted Lasso.

Is Scrubs, in your opinion, as good as Ted Lasso? I have heard of the show but before now had no interest. If it's even half as good as Ted Lasso and has the same feel good comedy I would binge it while I wait for Ted Lasso S2.

Love the show and am a huge English Premier watcher. Anyone else find some of the English accent hard to follow at times?

As someone with several friends from Great Britain, no. To my ear, English accents are very easy to understand, regardless of region. I have a harder time with certain regional Irish and Scottish male accents.

I went to the US with a guy I worked with (for a training course) back in about 1999/2000 and it was really funny to discover that if I (with a Derbyshire accent) spoke quickly and he (with a Black Country accent) spoke slower none of the Americans (from Rhode Island) could understand a word of what we said. The distance from where I grew up to the other guy is less than 50 miles while we could understand each other the Americans just sat there utterly bemused.

We spent a week in the US in Rhode Island and it was a time I still remember fondly, every American we met was polite and friendly - even the Policeman whose car in stepped in front of on the first day of being there ! ( I looked the wrong way when stepping off the kerb).

We then flew to Chicago for a conference, met another bunch of great Americans, the only bit of grief we got was from a Canadian! Strange world.
