Before long, no one will be able to visually distinguish Samsung phones from Apple phones. No notch, no dynamic island, no physical buttons, and everything will be perfect so you won't be able to tell if the phone is upside-down or not. Just dreamy.

It does present a problem for adequate case protection.Don't you need one or two millimeters of bezel so that the rounded edge of a case is not covering pixels?
The iPad is a tough one, because yes that would look very cool but there needs to be someplace to hold it since that it how the iPad is designed to be used, and I would hate to accidentally tap things on the edges, which would happen if there were no bezels, so I just don't know about that one.I would love them to do that to my next iPad Pro (have latest now 6 gen 12.9). There is a quarter inch on all edges that could be used 🙃🙃![]()
The answer to all my problems within my grasp!!!Here you are.

I would love that as well, I might be alone in this but I would even prefer the notch on a bezelless iMac, I like how the notch works on my MacBook ProIMac... 32" and the look of an Ipad pro.
Probably not but i have my iPad Pro 12.9 in apple Magic Keyboard case so seldom hold it that way, always prefered a real keyboard rather than screen. So not sure how typical I am but would love the extra screenThe iPad is a tough one, because yes that would look very cool but there needs to be someplace to hold it since that it how the iPad is designed to be used, and I would hate to accidentally tap things on the edges, which would happen if there were no bezels, so I just don't know about that one.
There will be phantom touches but only from phantom limbs.I hope they get it worked out that there won't be phantom touches and whatnot.
It doesn’t have FaceID. And according to Gurman, Apple doesn’t have the technology nor plans to implement FaceID on the MacBook. My God, how hard is it to reach a finger to the power button a few times per day? They are on the MacBooks so the top bezel can be as thin as the side bezels.
This is why the MBP notch is the size it is; the FaceID components are twice as thick as the entire lid, they wont fit. It's a non issue since there are several ways to hide the notch.

iOS actually already handles phantom touches very well. You may not realize it, but even with the “wide” bezels we have right now we are still giving a lot of phantom touches with our palms or thumbs. I remember there was a iOS beta years ago that disabled it on my XS and I was triggering the bottom of the screen so frequently I had to switch how I held the phone until the next beta fixed it. iPads have also had this since at least the first iPad mini. You could hold the screen with a thumb or two partially on the display without any additional inputs.I hope they get it worked out that there won't be phantom touches and whatnot.

Now get rid of the island. 😍
Look at those ultra slim bezels on the sides by the Phone an iPod icons. We never got those slim bezels ever since.I prefer a bezel-less Display over a foldable Display for the iPhone.
Huge bezels to almost thin line bezels. We have come a long way!

Dynamic island does not bother me at all unless I am watching a video which I rarely seem to do anymore on an iPhone or any smartphone. But yeah, I agree that display would look better without any of these things. They should try notch-less and dynamic island-less first.
Now we can use iPhone in all directions like iPadNo notch, no dynamic island, no physical buttons, and everything will be perfect so you won't be able to tell if the phone is upside-down or not. Just dreamy.
One Huawei phone had no earspeaker and the whole screen used to vibrate and function as an earpiece, I bet this idea will get recycled as wellNow we can use iPhone in all directions like iPad
If the tolerances between the two screens were that tight, any grit would stress and crack the screen while opening/closing them. This is probably so that they can develop their folding phone with a durable glass display that perfectly meets in the center with no bezel.
