That doesn’t look like it’s happening anytime soon.It will be the day that people will stop rewarding them for being greedy.

Heh just playinButtercup ? On a positive, happy to see that Steve and I had the same opinion after one exchange![]()
Because, once you go Mac, you never look back.
Just want to mention that I am currently debating going NUC vs Mac Mini as a plex media server + other things. I don’t mind Windows but I love MacOS.
However, I am weighing the pros/cons between value (NUC) or MacOS.
So yeah unlike some people in this thread, I never discount Windows out of the picture. It’s the solution that matters.
Will you be having pumpkin pie or cherry at Thanksgiving?
[doublepost=1542724158][/doublepost]Here comes the next wave in the storm.
$749 in 2015 vs $999 in 2018 is not “almost double the price”. In fact the $250 / 33% increment over 3 years seems justified based on how the iPhone has revolved and in line with certain Samsung products. The latest iPhone, XS 64gb is almost the double price of my 6S 64gb (at the time the latest). Most people salaries haven't doubled during that time. But Tim, the executives, the board, the institutional shareholders have benefited.
maybe you can explain something to me, I am being serious,Because, once you go Mac, you never look back. In your memory Windows will always stays what it was when you left. The most frustrating moments will live on forever. Every virus you had, every toolbar that installed itself and changed your search engine setting. You fooled me once, shame on you. You’ll never get a second chance.
Me and Android that’s strictly bias. I’ll never used one and I never will. I just know in my heart it’s trash. Yes, I’m a Apple fanboy on an Apple rumors site, shoot me! Because I’ve seen Windows, I’m not willing to give another knockoff OS running on OEM hardware a try. We know how that went the last time.
For a while it might look as if the competition has caught up. Increasing processor speeds will hide performance issues and bigger batteries will mask inefficiency. The average customer will be blinded by flashy OLED colors, but not me.
I know Google, Samsung and Qualcomm have divergent interests and no overall master plan. Apple just needs to have a notch and everyone goes crazy. Keep the fingerprint sensor, put it on the back, put it in the display, no don’t keep it. Big notch, small notch, double notch, top and bottom notch. Notchless! Slide it, Fold it, Roll it.
Samsung the company that invented ‘Tent Mode’ as a way you might want to use your laptop wants to design my phone? No thanks!
Neither. I don’t have pies for thanksgiving.
And I know you’re trying to bait, but I am just pointing out there are people like me who can openly use other things outside of Apple
Could be an AdBlocker, most likely it’s an requirement of Adobe Flash. Just install a second browser like Chrome to use only for the odd misbehaving website. Unfortunately governments assume everyone uses Internet Explorer. Companies who’ve got to earn a living ought to have a mobile version of their website fully compatible with Safari. We have a MacBook 2015, my wife won't use it because she can't download docs off a state website she has to use all the time, why is this?
Who told you that? Source? Oh, that's right. Just a random person saying something doesn't make it true. The 8 is Apple's most popular model. A complete repudiation of the notch.
I, like the 218M others that bought iPhones, see the value in Apple's products, software, support, ecosystem, etc. It's not like comparable Android phones are cheap. The Note is over $1,000. Even the once "cheap" OnePlus is over $600 now. I don't need to save a few $100 on something I have in my hand hours per day. I'd rather not have Google's software spying on me 24/7, zero support, and a buggy software experience. So you’re quite happy you’re contributing to making a very rich company even richer at your expense? What a bizarre philosophy.

Yea well not for me it’s not. My latest phone has come packaged in Android wrapping paper and I’m loving the experience along with the price.
You cannot release a phone, the Xs, that really has zero meaningful advancements over the iPhone X...or this happens!
The camera is slightly better in the Xs, and it has Smart HDR and "Adjustable Depth of Field" which allows people with the Xs/Max to control the blur of the background in their Portrait Photos. I still believe that the iPhone X can do Apples version of "Adjustable Depth of Field" but they left it off the iPhone X so the Xs had one smaller "new" feature. I can do the adjustable depth of field with a third party app like Focos, which many say does it way better.
The A12 is a beast but it is nothing that you can really tell the difference in day to day apps and even with iOS 12. If they want to put these amazing chips (which are only going to get better and better) in the new iPhones, they need to have some sort of "Pro" apps that take advantage of that power or what good is it? We are all paying for something that we cannot even take 100% advantage of!
I could go on and on, but this is what Apple gets!

I went with a maxed-out NUC i7-6770HQ (Skull Canyon) just for fun and after two years of heavy use I am completely satisified with itJust want to mention that I am currently debating going NUC vs Mac Mini as a plex media server + other things. I don’t mind Windows but I love MacOS.

That must have been a keynote I slept through. Also love when people chime in on these ridiculous stories with calls to fire people. Are we not going to acknowledge some impressive technological achievements under Cook’s Apple? Exponential growth of the iPhone; a $1000 phone that actually sold very well; the UNPARALLELLED achievements of their in-house CPU team with the A-series chips (I mean, this alone makes their achievements incredible); the taptic engine (seriously, have you used competitor devices? Pathetic at best, years behind); brilliant manufacturing of LCD screens still; the AirPods (you can’t go anywhere without seeing dozens of these at a time). I can keep going, but if you don’t want to acknowledge these things that enhanced the overall experience of their product lines, you’re being willfully ignorant.
Good luckThe title of the article should be "Now is the time to buy Apple stock".
It’s the other way around, flexibility kills Android. Samsung has literally produced phones and tablets with hundreds of different resolutions and aspect ratios. As a result there is no least common denominator a developer could develop against. On the other hand every iPhone since the 5s had some form of biometric ID functionality stored in a secure enclave on Apples own silicone. That’s something a developer can take for granted.
Yes if you look at the charts you can see this happens almost predictably every year since late 2007. Here is the pattern. Before 2007 it was flat so i focused from there. Which coincidentally coincides with the first iPhone. I am editing to say every two years or so. but you can trace the dates and it was all doom and gloom for some of the more successful phones AAPl sold.

There is a middle ground Apple is missing though. Android has how many different sizes, resolutions and what not? It might be in 100s, certainly dozens. Apple is never going to come close to that problem. It wouldn't kill them to have 2 or 3 different formats. The notch present a problem in keeping all the relative screen sizes the same, as they probably can't scale down, keep all the aspect ratios the same and fit the faceID stuff in there. But there is no reason the same aspect ratio can't be used over the basic foot print of the screen.

That's four major pullbacks in 11 years? I don't think that's happening for the reasons you think its happening....
