Amid continued healthy sales for the iPhone 13 lineup, Apple's iPhone 14 models are forecasted to sell even better, Sina Finance reports.

The report claims that Apple has begun trial production of the iPhone 14 lineup and plans to begin mass production in August ahead of launch in September. Apple is said to have informed suppliers than the initial sales of the iPhone 14 will be higher than those of the iPhone 13.

iPhone sales normally slow down in the July-August period as customers anticipate the launch of new models in September, but iPhone 13 shipments were reportedly one-third higher this July than at the same time last year, suggesting that the device has ongoing demand.

Meanwhile, ETNews reports that Samsung is expecting to ship as many as 80 million displays for the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max in the third quarter of this year. In 2021, all four iPhone 13 models were announced on September 14, became available to pre-order on September 17, and launched on September 24 in the United States and more than 30 other countries, and the iPhone 14 lineup is expected to launch in a similar timeframe this year.

They must be referring to the entire lineup of iPhone 14s as I can't see how the standard 6.1" iPhone 14 can be a big seller without a new SoC(A16).

Maybe because it's going to come in at a lot less than $799, or keeps last year's price but isn't actually as under-spec'ed as all the analysts claim?

A new "iPhone 13" with 6GB RAM for $699 could still be popular despite sticking with A15.

I expect the Pros to sell in big numbers and maybe the 6.7" 14 Plus because of the Pro Max sized display, especially if it stays below the $999 mark($899?).

Apple seems to be very confident the 14 Max will be a success;
I'm not sure...I think when people approach that price range, they'd rather jump to the pro max.
I guess we'll see...
Based on what's been rumoured, I can't see the regular iPhone 14 being more succesful than the 13.

I think the iPhone 14 is going to be 1st fail for an iPhone.

Reasons: Old SOC, no latest display cutouts, no 120hz refresh rate which even low end androids have, no USB-C. Apple can’t keep the carrot dangling forever. Something’s gotta give in.

iPhone Pro is a fake product line created to drum up prices.

I don't doubt that the 14 Pro could outsell the 13 Pro, but I'm dying to know how the 14 will outsell the 13 on the same CPU.

Like… what is it even going to offer? More RAM? Consumers barely understand what that is. No pro-motion, no always-on display… sure the 14 Plus/Max/whatever will fill a void, but I am not aware of a single distinguishing feature of the basic 14.

The iPhone 14 lineup may outsell the iPhone 13 lineup, but the iPhone 14 specifically will most definitely not outsell the iPhone 13.

iPhone is so far ahead of all smartphones that to own anything else for the most important product in your life is stupid. Obviously people are starting to realizing this. In addition, the latest and greatest(pro max) is becoming the must have. It’s now a consumer staple containing all your life’s vitals.
I tend to agree on the pro models but the 14 sounds like a complete dud if rumors are true.

Selling a 60HZ smartphone in 2022 at that price point is questionable at best. I hope this will change.

Whenever my 13 Pro goes into power saver mode it feels sluggish and bad to use, same for my GFs iPhone 12 (all the time).

I also believe Apple is underestimating the effects of the economic crisis. New FED numbers put inflation at above 9% which is quite honestly insane.

I think iPhone 14 line will be off to a great start but than taper down significantly as more people feel the effects of 14 years of misguided monetary policy.

Im sure the 14 plus will help with sales. A bigger screen without paying the premium for the Pro Max model. I’m not sure most people care or know about RAM and SOC and other internals.

iPhone 14 or, as I call it, iPhone 11 V4, a bit bigger, a bit heavier and a lot more expensive.

Did they mean both iPhone 14 and 14 Max (meaning they'll count the 14 Max as part of the "14" sales)? If that's the case, then well, duh. I've been telling this for some time already. The 14 Max will be like the second coming, selling like hotcakes like the iPhone 6/6Plus. People wants larger phones for less, period. A Max iPhone for less than $1000 will be a huge hit, no matter the spec.

I do hope it will come in more bolder colors. The color selections of the 12 and 13 are a bit drab. Miss the colorful 5c/XR.

i'm itching for an upgrade but my 12 Pro Max hasn't let me down. the only thing concerning me is the battery which is at 93%. it seems to be going down much faster but even if it gets really bad i can just pay £70 for apple to put a new one in.

my AppleCare expires in November so i'm thinking maybe i should just get a 14 and keep that for 2 years. but at the same time i'm thinking i should just wait for the 15 lmao.

Y’all are overthinking this. The reason the iPhone 14 will outsell the iPhone 13 is simple…most people are on a 2 year replacement schedule. The iPhone 12 was a blockbuster product because of the inclusion of 5G and those phones are nearing replacement.

I want to agree with you but I have to wonder how many average iPhone buyers could name the SoC in their phone, or even that it has one. For most people it goes price, then size, and that's about it.

Sadly this is the answer. Sad because network operators still have a strangehold on the phone market. This isn't the 60s, you don't have to buy the phone from AT&T any more than you have to buy your lights from the power company, I wish more people knew that.

My 13 Pro is at 93%. A nearly 2 year old phone [12] at 93% is extraordinarily good.
