it was not "created" by Elon Musk alone.
he was co founder.
Musk got out of it years ago but i think he still owns some stake in it, probably minor.
never said he created the company alone. but he did create the name on his own. technically what I said is valid.

That’s basically the same thing. The only thing Apple could semi-realistically do is to poach-hire OpenAI employees, like Microsoft threatened to do when Altman was fired. But it would take a lot of time to rebuild everything, and there’s little reason for OpenAI staff to be interested in that.
To be honest I don't feel many of these people would want to work for Apple.
Let's be honest they are probably being paid phenomenally well where they are now and these type of people want to embrace new things constantly and be open and free to expire all the possibilities.
Apple would feel, I'm sure very controlling and locked down in what they'd want them to focus on.
When they are already being paid so much I don't feel many would want to be under such controls.

Should we understand that Apple has done nothing to compete and that Apple Intelligence is just a rebranding of ChatGPT?
If ChatGPT wasn't so great, I'd call that underwhelming.

Now, I wonder why Chat GPT works on my iPhone 11 and yet Apple expects me to fork out 1200 euros on a new Pro phone just for it to make requests to the same app.

That would be a misunderstanding of Apple Intelligence. Apple is building their own suite of AI systems that power various features in the OS and apps. It is all Apple tech and none of it is ChatGPT. It all runs locally on your device or, for some heavier processing, they send it to specialize Apple-built servers that process the request but are incapable of logging or training from your data. It works with the data on your phone like your documents, email, messages, notes, etc. in a privacy protecting way.

Since Apple Intelligence runs on your local device, it requires more RAM than is found on older devices. That is why you will need a newer device when you are ready to upgrade to be able to use their AI.

There is a separate feature that sends other “world knowledge” type of requests to an external AI. ChatGPT is the only that they have have revealed so far. That works a bit like the Sir “here’s what I found on the web” feature. ChatGPT does not run its AI on your device, it is all on a server. Apple has a special contract with OpenAI that prevents OpenAI From storing any of your data or using it for training. Apple has the right to audit OpenAI’s compliance with the terms of the contract. Apple has done as much as they can to protect your privacy, even here where they are working with a third party vendor.

ChatGPT “runs” on your phone the same way that Google search runs on your phone. There is a small local app that takes your query and then sends it to a server for processing. After a while, you get a response back. It works but it’s not fast and it cannot work with any of your data on your phone.

Did you read the article? Do you know Elon quit cause he wanted to fight Google on its own since OpenAI didn‘t want to act the way Elpn wanted them to act.

But Musk has lots of money and he knows where to put its money. The last thing I know is that Elon is fascinated by german Flux.1 blackForrest company.

Btw Elon never founded Tesla or was “Mr Tesla” he just knows where to put his money.
He pays the right financial advisers, while he spends his days posting memes like a child.
