Viva la Apple!!!With people (fools) like you, it’s no wonder Apple is the wealthiest company on the globe.
What a mug.
Hehehe.. I think you've missed the joke. With people (fools) like you, it’s no wonder Apple is the wealthiest company on the globe.

I think you missed a heaping dose of /s there.
I guess when the government hands out free money like candy...
At this point I’m thinking they should take the phone out of the box and be done with. Annual release cycle is getting tiring and converting this to biennial will have true environmental impact.. than taking essentials like chargers and earphones out.
IMHO what’s bad for the environment is not that new models come out yearly but that there seems to be many people upgrading after a short period of usage.
No one is forcing them to upgrade yearly. I really don’t understand why so many people in forums like these seem to be accustomed to upgrade phones yearly. Even if money is not an issue the devices are too similar from one year to the next to even care. There are better things out there to waste your money on.

iOS is very different than a computer, you're lucky to get app support if you're a couple versions back. An older PC on the other hand will have much less trouble running current programs. Apple has always wanted everyone on the newest OS version. In fact, only this year have they announced, for the first time, to continue supporting an older version.I bought the iPhone 6 actually 6 years ago. And iOS 12 came out in 2018, so it is 3 years old! Sorry, but supporting an OS version just for 3 years after it came out is not OK, no matter how you look at it. And I actually did use some of my computers for 10 years or more. It is all a question of how much you take care of your equipment. In the old days I could go on using my equipment by just staying on older software versions. But since all that cloud business started, everybody is just cutting loose hardware that is running on 3 years old OS versions, because they are too lazy to support legacy systems. That is completely nuts. My iPhone looks almost brand new after 6 years, even though I heavily used it during that time. Battery got replaced 2 times so far though. That is sustainability! Buying a used iPhone 11 doesn't change that my iPhone 6 will have to be scrapped long before the hardware is giving up and somebody still has to buy a new phone to replace his... So it doesn't change anything, no matter if I buy a brand new phone or a used one...

The iPhone 6 unfortunately had a shorter software support lifespan than devices released along side it, before it, as well as after it due to its specs.
Not looking to get a new iPhone this year but the £799 I paid for my iPhone 12 was more than I wanted to pay for a mobile phone.
If the prices go beyond that next year with the iPhone 14, i’ll simply do what a lot of people tend to do and buy an older model. It’s getting a bit ridiculous from a consumer point of view now and especially as Apples profits are record breaking every year. I’m happy not to have the latest phone if the costs related are ridiculous.
It was $699 paid to Apple. Then the carriers all charged you a $30 one time activation fee on your first bill.
Er, yes. I think we're in agreement. It's either $729 to Apple, SIM free, or $729 to Apple and a carrier if it's not a SIM free version. But either way the minimum amount that you need to spend is $729, not $699.That's not right, just checked my purchase. I bought the SIM free version and it was $729. I am on prepaid, so did not have an "activation fee". The carrier phones might have been $699 + activation fee, but they made the SIM free version $30 higher to compensate for that.
Just saying, I think Apple is more on the struggling side as Apple only has 200 billion dollars and if you are in a buisness standpoint especially in Apple's who is trying to muster 500 billion dollars in streaming service, and 200 billion is barely enough to let apple take huge risks as they have so much things going on unlike their competitionApple looks at its bank account with trillions of dollars: “you know what, we need more money. Let’s raise the prices, our sh eep won’t notice the price hike.
