I mean, the prices have always looked nice in US dollar but it is just insane to see that price tag in something like Euro. Yes, tax is not included in the price blablabla but it still does not come close. I remember those days when Apple only replaced the $ sign with the € sign but now it is like 200 in Euro on top! they also seem to be penny pinching with ridiculous prices like "X Euro and 41 Cent". Even Apple must know their prices are insane, since they are usually promoting the "from" price, based on a monthly financed price now instead of showing the full price straight away. Who would have ever thought you will have to finance a phone?! I know the US loves financing stuff and paying later but that usually does not fly well here.
Thankfully I am not in the market of a new iPhone. I have not even taken advantage of the 12 Pro Max camera yet thanks to going from lockdown to lockdown. Finally will be able to use it for the first time on vacation in a year next week. Also, iOS has advanced so little. What do you need to upgrade for? Only to go back using the same apps on the same Home Screen that you probably haven't been bothered to change in years![]()
edit: just realised this post is a lot about "me" lol oh well, it is a forum
Apple must love me. They are working overtime to ensure I keep more of my disposable income this fall, since I currently see no good reason to spend it on their next phone offerings. 🤣
I loved my Galaxy S20+ - it was a fantastic phone. The only reason I dipped my toe back into the Apple pool was that the iPhone 12 was one of the most compelling models Apple had produced in years.Really makes me wonder if I should take a break on iPhone and give a modern Android a try.
Because if they just don't innovate and then hike the price then I feel obligated to vote with my wallet.
Ah yes they will continue to charge top dollar for middle-of-the-road specs...
Nobody is forcing anybody to purchase an overpriced (sic) consumer item with middle of the road specs.Ah yes they will continue to charge top dollar for middle-of-the-road specs...
It depends on who you ask. Anecdotally touch id as an option would be great but not needed. I doubt the iPhone 13 has a “negligible spec” update. That may be your opinion, but it would probably be wrong.First we hear they won't be including features needed to compete in the age of COVID (i.e. Touch ID), and the "upgrades" they are adding to this model are at best negligible. Even the chip is just a slightly updated version of last year's. This is an "S" update if ever there were one, and Apple is not only labeling it a version upgrade, but now wants to price it like one as well.

Why is the fold 3 revolutionary? It’s just repacked tech from the fold 1? Every year Apple releases processors that blow away the competition. Isn’t that revolutionary? The M1? Wasn’t the ability to record from two cameras on the iPhone 12 revolutionary?Which is truly sad. Anyone from any angle who calls the Fold 3 anything less the revolutionary tech is just a fanboy of whatever they are backing in defense.
It is absolutely 100% bleeding-edge hardware no matter how you cut it. Over and above anything anyone is doing out there.
Anyone who even pretends to be a true tech fan should applaud Samsung here for this and think it is cool tech.
If it wasn't $1800 then sure; and a bit more solid of an inner display (a few generations away). I can see the appeal of a bigger screen sometimes for sure.
Thank you captain obvious...Nobody is forcing anybody to purchase an overpriced (sic) consumer item with middle of the road specs.
Lol there are low/mid range android devices with 120hz displays. What about the 13 pro makes it worth more than the 1k they already charge for the pro model devices? There’s nothing about the upcoming 13 pro phones that would be middle of the road specs. Regular non pro model maybe but not the pro models
The opinion in the quoted post was flat out incorrect.Thank you captain obvious...

This is happening with all consumer goods. This shouldn't surprise anyone. If you want to get a new phone every year, you got to pay to play.
Apple sells as many iPhones as all of the manufacturers of Android phones....COMBINED. Trust me, it holds, they just see an opportunity to profit. I suspect, though, they will be chasing some of their users to/back to Android.Which is why I said "one of". Samsung bean counters have run the modelling and concluded that the volume increase due to the price drop has a greater effect than the decrease in profit per device. This does not necessarily hold for an iPhone.

The keynote is around the corner, but I’m sure there will be a number of interesting and innovative, maybe even revolutionary as part of the iPhone 13. And it won’t be $1,800.
I don't see this as a good comparison. The iPhone 12 was much more advanced in the hardware than the 11. Nearly every feature was improved in some way from the 11 to the 12.Probably a similar reason to why you went from an iphone 11 to a 12 as per your signature.
"This is a good chance to tell Apple not to profit off of you buy buying a different model they have for sale - still at a profit."This is a good chance to give Apple a finger and buy iPhone 12 instead, which will be discounted once 13s come out. This will teach them. ✌️
