When is enough money enough?
I will stick with google maps as it's far better here in Ireland.
Used Apple Maps in Dublin last week as a test and it took me a route to get on the motorway that was absolutely nuts.
Google maps always takes me a better route from the same location.
I was amazed how bad it was.
I definitely won't be using it if I have to scroll through bs ads as well.

I'm pretty sure the number of people who use Apple Maps versus Google Maps or even Waze is very low.

And what premium? iPhones cost the same as similar Samsung phones.

Samsung similar class devices are often more expensive than Apple. Samsung increase prices basically every year now, Apple is much more determined to offer customers amazing new technology for the same price or value as before.

I've deleted this app years ago. I doubt they managed to get ahead of GMaps/Waze here in EU.
Entirely wrong for me in UK.

Google has roads which do not exist - and never have existed.
Google roads are very frequently some distance away from their real locations, often several metres.

You really are in the minority. Trusting anything but Google Maps in the UK is dumb. I use Apple Maps if, say, it's the evening and I'm trying to get back home from being out. But if I'm having to go an appointment, and need to arrive on time, then it's Google Maps each time. I have been paid back in shame for disobeying this rule so many times.

Let me get this correct. I buy a product, then pay a service fee every month to use that product (cell service). Then pay another monthly fee to use that product at home because cell service sucks inside (internet). Then pay another fee for the cool stuff that my device can do (iCloud+, streaming services, etc). Then the companies I paid money to for years decide to take that money and build massive data centers in my city claiming they will provide hundreds of jobs, only to jack up my energy bills by 200+% because they use so much energy. Then they put ads everywhere saying they need revenue to provide great products. All while bringing in more money than even oil companies. Explain to me why I should keep my devices now? How about we all just ditch our devices and go back to using cash?

They just keep doing doing things that distinguish them even less from competitors. Makes it harder to justify the premium you pay for their products.
Look around the tech world. Apple is the lesser of evils and that's what they bank on, then they sprinkle in ways to convince their users that the data will be secure and ads won't be targeted. Pretty easy to look good against companies like Microsoft and Google who rake you over the coals with analytics to the point you can't even use their products without work arounds of hours of analytics removal. Unless everyone moves to Linux or equivalent mobile OS this is what we'll have until the governments around the world improve consumer protections. Spoiler: it won't.

If they don’t make money from their users, Apple would have imploded. And Steve is deceased.

Agree that they seem to be content with being the “lesser of evils.” What some of us long-time Apple customers lament is that they used to strive to be the objectively better choice instead of making “hey, at least we are not them” their main selling point.

I would love a 3rd option outside of android and iOS that was what Apple used to be but without the stupid add and overly focused greed tactics. Sometimes making more money comes at a price that just isn’t worth it anymore. Not a popular opinion but I will be deleting Apple Maps of this does happen and find a 3rd party option. I really HATE Tim Cook for so many reasons and how he has ruined what used to be a well oiled machine delivering quality software and innovative products.
