Apple’s net income for 2024 was over 93 billion dollars.Innovation is very expensive. Apple needs to keep making more money to drive investments in the technologies of the future that will unlock all our potential.

He probably rolled that many times some of his bones have crumbled.Literal Steve Jobs rolling right now
Apple paid millions together with Google to have the White House demolished. They gotta pay that somehow.Paying premium prices and still getting ads, amazing!
Thank you. That’s the most sensible post I’ve seen on this topic for months."Peak Apple" is always a good way to tell people your age without telling people your age.
The best way forward is to split Apple into eras:
And honestly, I can easily give you Peak Apple for #1, #2, and #3. But I just don't know what it is for #4. I can think of times like the launch of the Apple Watch, but S0 was so flawed and took literally years to become mature. Ditto Apple Vision (if you Google it, the top results mostly involve words like "fail").
- Jobs #1.
- Wilderness.
- Jobs #2.
- Cook.
I think the Cook era has been... Chequered. A curate's egg. Certainly interesting times.
Profits wise, it's been insane. Product wise... Ah, it's not anywhere near as clear-cut. Arguably, you could say that it was Ive who did much of the heavy lifting. But I suppose kudos to Cook for keeping the boat sailing for so long, and so well. Others could've just sunk it by their arrogance, as in the Wilderness era.
Exactly. The point of using Apple Maps, for me at least, is that it is ad-free, despite being slightly inferior to alternatives. With ads, what’s differentiating it from those alternatives? May as well switch back to the superior product, since being ad-free is no longer a selling point. Both have paid ads in them. 🤣
It’s probably a necessary expense to them. Like an insurance premium. Main difference being only one of those is paid w/ hopes it gets used.I'm getting Ad'ed out. I honestly don't understand how these ads make money.
Google Maps or Waze then
