Apple consumers are surely among the most dissatisfied tech users. Every new product is subjected to complaints and predictions of market failure. Every tweak in the OS is not enough, too little too late. The most recent product release (Apple Watch Ultra) was met with Marxist claims of extortion in pricing (even after it fell to $800). Apple is “greedy” more than a few say. Oh and my fave was that the “Ultra” design was “Fugly” by juvenile posters. There is no “perfect, do it all gadget” (as I suspect you know). Apple became the most prosperous company in the world by ignoring most of their customers and their bad ideas.
I would say thats a gross exaggeration and oversimplification.

A site like MacRumors is going to draw a rather vocal yet tiny minority of complainers. But a lot of Apple users are actually quite happy with their products.

I count myself fortunate in that I have never had any serious complaints or issues with the Apple products I’ve owned. And there are a lot of other people like myself or Apple wouldn’t be doing as well as it has.

There is also a difference between griping to no end and legitimate criticism.

I don’t care for everything Apple does, but that is largely as it pertains to me subjectively. I have zero interest in owning an Apple Watch given I see it as mostly an expensive toy, a fashion accessory and a status symbol. I personally don’t see it as a device that could make my life better in any significant way. I have an old-school analog watch on my wrist and I have an iPhone—bases covered. The Apple Watch doesn’t offer me anything other than money spent pointlessly.

Laptops are a huge business and really make a lot of people’s lives easier, and yet I don’t own a laptop simply because I don’t like the laptop form. I can look at a MacBook reasonably objectively in regard to how it satisfies the market it’s intended for and where it succeeds or falls short, in my opinion.

I think the iPads are fantastic devices overall, but that doesn’t put them above fair criticism. Ditto the iPhones.

I really like the new iMac even though there are things I could nitpick they could have done differently. When affordable mainstream laptops offer multiple ports it’s bizarre that a $1500 AIO desktop doesn’t and requires you to buy dongles to connect with different devices. Seriously WTF! The same argument could be applied to the mainstream MacBooks.

You raise a valid point.

A 16in. iPad is certainly doable, but I think it would likely be a niche device that would appeal to few people. If Apple is seriously considering it then they must be convinced there is a sufficient worthwhile market for it.
Apple has the ability to make a market. (Or expand an existing one). I’m going out on a limb here— and suggest that the coming Mixed Reality Headset— will do similar. Not a “mass” market. Rather a professionals/creatives market.

Wouldn't you just buy a laptop at this point? I mean how much larger can an Ipad get before you are basically buying a laptop. An Ipad was supposed to be a tablet, a note taking and reading device. Now I'm thinking about maybe getting one to upgrade my 2015 and I'm confused on what they are offering. I don't need or want a big one. I want an actual Ipad and maybe recommendations on good books I can get back into because I don't read (Sci Fi, Action Thrillers, and maybe mysteries are probably my favorite genres).
Yes we are at the phone phablet tablet tabtop laptop choices now

EDIT: And I'd much rather have a bigger Air

Any chance this is still coming this year? Family member was asking if she should wait to buy a new ipad.
