You can take on more risk if you are rich enough but most people have bills to pay and inflation is still high.

Besides, whats going on in Africa right now with Mercenaries, crypto bribery and South Africa’s alliance with Russia is going to make rare earth metals a problem in the coming years.

Go back to the late 70s/early 80s. That's when inflation was high.

I just think people are happy with what they already have and are keeping it longer. I am partly at fault for this. But, making 30 billion in this economy is impressive otherwise and people will always be upgrading. Don't read too much into this.

It's a slow process. But Apple needs to get on it and make it the top priority to move to India.
after hindenburg exposed the fraud of a company adani is and modi show what a true democracy india is by blocking the modi bbc documentary, apple need to look else where.

It’s more that Apple users are DOOMED to pay high product prices and to only get marginal software improvements.
Really? where are you getting great amazing software and/or hardware? Windows? Android? Give me a break Apple still produces the best hardware with the most optimised software out of all the tech companies.

When I read comments that imply, "I could do a better job steering Apple," I wonder how much skin the poster has in the game. How many shares?

I am v-e-r-y long AAPL, and am still pleased with the company's performance. Bravo, Mr. Cook.
I think you have been brilliant being long AAPL. However, while I think AAPL is a great company, their ‘growth’ story is over. Be careful.

This graph shows it all. For those who keep asking "where's the 27" imac?", simply look at this graph. They even have more revenue from services and wearables than mac sales.

Yes, MacBook Pros + Air are the breadwinner of the category. The thing is personal computers are just tools to help us make things fast. That’s all. If it still chugs, no need to shell money. I learned this later in life.

I hate to defend Apple's pricing but in this case indeed you can go out and buy that storage on Amazon and get a base model so you don't spend $200 on storage alone. If that doesn't suit you because it's not internal storage and it's more of a hassle, plus it'll never be as quick as the internal one - well now you see why it's more expensive. Value pricing.

Are they charging unreasonable prices for a ton of stuff when compared to competing brands? Absolutely. For some products the value is just not there - like the Studio Display, iPhone SE, and so on..
No, its not the same. And you are a sheep if you defend this kind of price gouging.

A whole NVMe SSD, Samsung 980 Pro 2TB costs $179 on Amazon. That's the PCB, controller, DRAM cache, and the nand chips, and other components. Not to mention it runs circles in terms of performance around a 512GB Apple SSD in a Mac mini.

Apple charges $200 for a single extra 256GB NAND chip to solder onto the empty pad on the logic board, since the controller is inside the Apple Silicon.

Do you see what you're defending?

It's weird to me that this is still a thing. If Google stopped paying it tomorrow, its not like Apple is going to change everyone's default search engine.

If Google stopped paying tomorrow, Apple would presumably make another search engine the pre-set default e.g., DuckDuckGo which would give DDG a nice boost.

Given that many people don't bother to change defaults, if Apple made DuckDuckGo or some other search engine the default on Safari, it could take away meaningful traffic and business from Google. That's a reason why Google has been willing to pay Apple SO MUCH money.

Decent numbers, considering the challenges — I was expecting much less. Active devices and paid subscriptions numbers were good, and India penetration looks like a big area for growth. I think Apple is careful not to be overly enthusiastic about any segments or markets, so the question about AI didn’t return much insight. My guess is that it is a priority, but they don’t want to show their cards just yet (or admit they are even holding cards!)

He’s defending Apple’s right to charge what it wants for its products. If you don’t see the value, don’t buy.

Decent numbers. It's the most profitable company in the world.

A failed quarter... expect improvements to the way they have been doing business recently. It's not working...

I am willing to bet my last dollar that these people haven't the faintest idea of what makes Apple tick.

At the same time, that's precisely why they can afford to run their mouths off with no consequences, because they are not in charge of Apple. Apple is not going to be any worse off regardless of how many people here clamour of folding iPhones or iPads running macOS or some other "flavour of the month" tech craze (fortunately). That's also what I find incredibly annoying and frustrating about these sort of comments (I am not convinced the people making them have put any thought into them whatsoever), but hey, it's a free country.
