Not really relative at all.

Google Pixel 3 is a sales disappointment, sells less than the Pixel 2

Elaborate. Alphabet clearly performed much better during the past year and the past quarter. The uptick in the aftermarket (even if it survives the night) simply reflects the fact that the investor were concerned that Apple perforrance might be even worse than it actually was.

No idea what at your trying say.

Impressive, as always. They are making the right shifts in their business model by focusing on wearables and services. iPhone will always be a driver, but diversifying is never a bad idea.

So basically all of Apple’s services are products.

Ah so that why their stock was down nearly 8% today.

Beat again guys. $58B was on the higher end of their guidance and they beat EPS handily.

Hate on.

all that money & they still can't fix a god damn butterfly keyboard after 3 tries..

I'm supposed to be impressed the biggest company in the world made a big load of money, well DUH! You know who else used to be the biggest company in the world & make a ton of money, General Motors. They also started to make $hitty cars & looked what happened to them. If you took your head out of Tim's butt you'll see Apple is making some really flawed products lately. You point to billions of dollars & clap, I point to it ask how can company make this kind of money & still make crap.

It's all relative. Alphabet reported 17% y-o-y revenue growth. Apple reported material drop in revenues. Impressive?

Based on what was expected, yes Apple did well and Google didn't. This is why Apple stock is up and Google is down.

Besides, it's silly to compare a hardware/tech company to an advertising company. Completely different markets.

Services are double the revenue of the Mac. Yet, we still have people here telling them to ditch services and focus on the Mac...

(I've love it if the Mac lineup got more attention, but this is how things are.)
And this is why you don’t take business advice from random strangers on Internet forums.

On a side note, i always get a little thrill when I see good iPad sales. IMO, wearables and iPad are the future.

Peak iPhone has already happened.

You’re two years too late to realize that doesn’t matter to investors or traders anymore. The shock factor already happened and AAPL tanked back then. We’re passed that. Now we care more about them not being so dependent upon the iPhone, and they have been increasingly showing that they can grow in other areas.

Your opinion doesn’t matter. It’s not crap, clearly.

Not only does it sell incredibly well, it has industry leading reliability and usable lives. Look at the secondary market.

Hate on.

I guess I'm a half empty kind of guy. I expected these results and I'm worried. Apple is fundamentally a hardware business, where customers are locked in by the network effects of its services. If their hardware ecosystem is shrinking, immensely, that means Apple's going to be milking an increasingly smaller population of customers through services.

And... with fewer customers being bilked more, those customers have increasing incentives across services to switch and take that apple margin back.
[doublepost=1556668930][/doublepost]Edit... Ya, I can't help noticing that Huawei murdered Apple's cash cow. I believe in the opportunities of the services businesses, but the facts show that the iPhone is not at all competitive with what Huawei is bringing and the financial hit to Apple is enormous. Has Tim Cook brought on Apple's "Gerstner" era? Gasp!

The stock went up so it doesn't matter. Apple could stop making computers and start selling oranges. All the shareholder cares about is if it goes up or not. Make any argument you want but anybody that holds Apple is richer than yesterday.

You are just glad that you bought in at a bad time when Baymowe told you too. Glad you’re up though but don’t get too comfy

And for the record I believe you were bragging when you got in at 190, sad when it dropped to 140, then needed consolation from Baymowe that it was going to go up.

:D

I own plenty of AAPL but that’s irrelevant. Cook increasing the dividend means he’s run out of ideas. He should resign immediately.
Again, hilarious take. How many shares you own?

You should sell if you want Tim out because the next guy won’t be as good.
