Warren Buffett always does this short term; The same person buys major Japanese trading house stocks and then sells them every few years. There is no real value in this story, especially being from CNN.
From the CNN report there's this quote "The sharp selloff is notable for Buffett, who is known for holding onto stocks for long periods of time." The opposite of your claim that he buys and sells every few years.

The days of companies existing purely for profit is over.

Apple is about privacy, the environment and sustainability.

If Apple was polluting the planet would you still buy their phones? If Apple used your private data to make money would you buy their phones?

You could argue they do these things to make money.

But making money is a result of being good at business. Not the reason to go into business.
If Apple had to dump toxic waste in river or fund murderous paramilitaries to make their phones, that's exactly what they would do. And people would keep buying their stuff, because, well, nobody has clean hands. There's no difference between Apple and Dow or Chiquita. They just happen to be in a business that don't require them to do those things

Except, you know, use exploitative labor, export the environmental pollution elsewhere, appease authoritarians while thumbing their nose at democratically elected governments, etc.

But they do. Lithium mining and processing is a terribly polluting industry.

Apple can hide it under layers upon layers of suppliers and market it as "sustainably sourced" but it's indisputable that the devices contain metals that at some stage were dug out of the ground and caused some level of environmental impact.

Or…it’s not weird and your statements are just wrong. Others see plenty of value or Apple would not make said profit.
People like myself who own stock in Apple know it’s a stock to hold to, some people are bashing it for obvious reasons. I said this before with the dividends I get from Apple I can replace my Apple devices. It’s our choice what we buy not those that try to persuade us not to. Your reply was extremely informative.

I understand how Apple stock works, along with how Warren Buffett has conducted business in the past. If you want to go around and spread or cry like a friar tuck Pronouncing “Don’t buy Apple shares “so, be it. But those are know and understand the stock are very happy with it; you’re entitled to an opinion, so be happy. I’m happy........because I am making good dividends from Apple stock.
