I wish that Homekit wasn't so buggy still. I use the iDevices Switch (Two of them) in my house and Siri rarely works with them correctly. Often she will act like she communicated with the device but the device didn't turn on or off. Other times she just says "Sorry I didn't hear back". If it did what it is supposed to do it would be super awesome its just not there yet.

Does anyone else think that the graph kind of looks like a dinosaur.

Would have been the same for the 6s and 6s Plus, no?

That's the point of year-on-year comparisons.

Yes, but the point is that the YoY compare for this past quarter was more so a comparison between the 6S and the 6 than it was a comparison between the 7 and 6S. So it's no surprise that there was a YoY decline in unit sales as the 6S has mostly seen declining numbers relative to the 6.

This coming quarter will give us a clearer compare between the 7 and the 6S. To be clear, this past quarter does to some degree represent a comparison between the 7 and 6S. But that comparison is difficult to suss out because the newest models were only available for a small portion of the respective quarters (i.e. Q4 2016 and Q4 2015). Most of the unit sales from those respective quarters were of the older models.

Wish I had 237.6 billion in cash and marketable securities

This is pre-tax money so the actual sum is lower. Besides, people always prefer to "forget" that Apple also has more than $80B in debt.

Still not bad for Apple but not as good as some people think.

Guidance for next quarter revenue is 76 Billion to 78 Billion - that's above Wallstreet estimates even. Big stuff wow!

Apple expects revenue to be between $76 and $68 billion in the December quarter
That's a wide gap. Is the second figure supposed to be $88 billion? Seems odd to post a lower figure second. Apple always under-sells themselves with their projections. If so, this coming quarter could break records for the company.

Sure but it is such a short period of time that it most reflects how much iPhone stock they were able to accrue. The next quarter is where you get a true indicator of iPhone demand.

and thats only because the iphone 7 have some lags and stutters in iOS. thats the reason...

Apple are so reliant on iPhone sales and with 'the cat out of the bag' about iPhone '10' being a revelation the financial results reflect this.
Folk are holding back till 2017 to upgrade plus £1000 is a lot to spend on a phone!.
apple need to try and reduce their prices for 256GB £699 MAX
apple are in danger of literally pricing themselves out of the market.

Yes, but most of the quarter was the 6s/6s Plus. Apparently those had more of a drop-off than the 6 the previous year.

What interest rate do "some people think" Apple pays on that 80B debt?

Do "some people think" Apple will pay full tax on the 237 Billion cash when they bring it back to the USA?

I think they will get a discount on the tax to repatriate that money eventually. If not, the USA loses out. As for the debt - I think it's very smart to load up debt right now with interest rates approaching zero. The Apple bond sales do just that I believe.

There has never been a company with such a balance sheet. Please compare to all other companies side by side.

Did they announce iPhone 7 sales to date after declining to announce first weekend launch sales? If not, what are the chances they announce Thursday?

I think it's very unlikely that they will announce iPhone 7 numbers on Thursday. That's for much the same reason they gave for not announcing the first weekend numbers. That is to say, they still haven't reached supply demand balance so the numbers would represent how many units they were able to build (and deliver into the channel) more so than how much demand there was. Mr. Cook indicated in the conference call that he doesn't even know if supply will catch up to demand for the iPhone 7 Plus by the end of the current quarter (i.e. by the end of the year). He did suggest that supply would probably catch up to demand for the iPhone 7 by then.
