$84-87 billion projected for Q1 2018?

Ridiculous numbers. That’s a full $6-9 billion MORE than their best ever Q1. :(

And people are still going to yap about production difficulties with the iPhone X? Or complain about the price and predicting nobody will buy it? People hate the notch? People are mad they’ve dropped TouchID?

How does it feel to be so utterly wrong?

Anybody else find it disturbing that Apple's services are bringing so much revenue given the very high costs of their hardware?
No, that’s a good thing for the company and shareholders. Everyone is concerned Apple is just an iPhone company and won’t be able to keep increasing revenues, this is why services gets everyone excited.

Very impressive with strong results in services. Hardware continues to lag, particularly the iPhone. Predicting a $10 billion increase in revenue year-over-year in the 4th quarter. That may not be a good omen for the iPhone X given the way services is growing. iPhone revenue needs to increase substantially now that the demand for a redesigned phone will be satisfied.

Next quarter will tell the tale. Fairly flat unit sales in the iPhone for three straight years now. If iPhone unit sales don't show a supercycle and increase quite a bit in the next quarter because of pent up demand for the redesign I think it will show the market has reached a saturation point and future growth will have to come from other areas.

You're probably right, this could be the peak for iPhone....at least once iPhone X numbers start coming in.

That is such a old, boring and overused comment.

Not as old, boring, and overused as the people that actually, seriously keep trying to predict Apple's demise.

I suppose it depends on what one wants to pay for ownership or rent*. I prefer the former because it is cheaper. I see Apple's services being targeted toward recurring fees (e.g., Apple Music), like rent.
It should be pretty obvious that you are becoming increasingly a minority in that regard. The subscription model and it's evil step sister, in-app purchases are the model of the present and the future. Ownership isn't automatically cheaper, btw. Circumstances determine which is better for each person.

And that's with a 13-week quarter as compared to a 14-week quarter.

Tim still on defense with AR.. sorry Tim but not everyone cares about it yet. It takes a while, not just 1 ios update.

Cook said "[Through carriers in the US,] you could buy an iPhone X for as low as $33/month. So, less than the cost of a cup of coffee at those nice coffee places."..

Uhmm... is it that expensive to buy coffee in the US?:D

I didn’t even bother to check the number of weeks.

What I DO remember is people using that as an excuse last year to try and diminish Apples record earnings because there was an extra week. Always gotta find some lame excuse to hammer Apple with.

the newest models instantly become most popular models. Nothing new or to see here. Says nothing about their sales compared to a year ago. Something tells me that the X becomes most popular model this week.

There were rumors that the 7 was outselling the 8. Cook quashed that with his statement. One of the analysts on MarketWatch also thinks that his comment about being surprised by 8 Plus sales is that the 8 Plus is outselling the 8.

Most importantly.

Why is anyone who doesnt hold shares in appl celebrating this?

Because people are sick of all the trolls and haters constantly bashing Apple. Seeing Apple post wildly successful numbers (and predicting more for next quarter) is like a huge slap in the face to them. And there’s no way they can argue against it because we’re dealing with facts, not rumors.

How does it feel to be so utterly right? Both matter about as much as a picked booger.:D

Not nearly as old, boring and overused as all the naysayers repeating it (and similar comments) while actually being serious.
Inevitably the inb4 and i told you so DOOMED "Apple fanatics" typically outnumber the actual DOOMED "Apple detractors" by about 500 to 1. It's like you guys can't wait to inundate a thread with ironic "DOOMED" quips... as if they're pithy observations. They're not.

Not as old, boring, and overused as the people that actually, seriously keep trying to predict Apple's demise.
Continued from above: 98% of people think all DOOMED posts should be doomed. This was confirmed by a stringent scientific poll survey conducted 15-20 minutes ago. Poll was sponsored by Leningrad Polytechnika... Go Polar Bears.

It shows the customers that the company is doing really well, and reassures them that Apple products will be around for a long long time. When you love a company as much as people love apple, you enjoy seeing them succeed whenever they can.

DOOMED, I say !!!….Apple is DOOMED, DOOMED DOOMED !!!!

SELL SELL SELL. …get out NOW, while you can !!!! /s

from an Apple Stock Holder. …..hahahahahahahahHahhahahhAhhhhaaaaa!!!

Well at least the iOS 11 adoption rate will surprisingly jump Nov 3, they're not sure why but they don't care why.
