Apple is finally getting a taste of what analysts do to Samsung

How the heck were they ever going to sell 70 million gs6s when all of apples phones barely broke 50 million.

Just a heads up, Samsung still outsold apple, they just didn't hit there analysts projected numbers and don't have the same margins as apple for pure profits.I think Samsung hit just over 6 billion in pure profits last quarter

That's true. Samsung sold more units than Apple.

But you also need to remember that Samsung is a full-line smartphone manufacturer.

Samsung sells smartphones from $100 all the way up to $800 and beyond. They cater to markets and demographics that Apple doesn't. Samsung is also in more countries and on more carriers than Apple.

So yeah... Samsung outsold Apple... but the two companies aren't exactly playing the same game.

Apple's phones start at $450 and go up from there. And looking at their ASP... the bulk of Apple's sales are well above $600.

Meanwhile... Samsung sells plenty of phones below $450. In fact... those make up the bulk of their sales.

In other words... Samsung's units and Apple's units are very different.

I know they sell many low end phones and sub 400 dollar phones.Samsung sold 300 million phones last year.

I guess you missed the part where analysts predicted 70million GS6 sales not 40 million so far

Samsung sells just as much flagships phones as apple does but nearly half the profit margins.apple is getting away with 1gb ddr2 ram while Samsung is using 3gb of ddr4 and dual core cpus vs 8 core etc and Samsung said it didn't hit or break out of its negative profits from 2 years ago was because they could not fill the demand of the gs6 edge and didn't make enough of them.

I'm still to this day waiting for an emerald green to come in stock and I've been waiting for months.

I didn't miss the part about the GS6.

I was more focused on you saying "Samsung outsold Apple"

Yes... they absolutely did.

But I was saying that there's not much of a story after that.

Samsung has a different product mix than Apple. Samsung tends to move more units than Apple because of that.

It's kinda difficult to compare a full-line phone manufacturer to one who only sells expensive phones.

That's all I was saying.

But yes... the analysts screwed up the GS6 predictions. They suck.

You edited your comment after I had already replied... I guess I will have to get back to you later. Or not.
