I have a 2009 white model and it has chips all over the case. I wonder why that type of plastic was so prone to that.Yeah I liked how those looked too. Way better than the white. Damn top cases wouldn't stop chipping through. One of Apple's all time worst fails was that top case.
I haven't tried to be honest. I just look at the display ones at the Apple stores, and see that the edges are all worn and you can see the shiny silver underneath. May as well start with silver then, imo.Have you found that the Space Grey Macbooks finish wears easily? I have pretty acidic skin so don't want to wear out the areas where my palms rest but always gravitate towards black/dark colours for my tech.
You must not have heard about Vantablack vs Black 3.0. It’s actually rather amusing (and infuriating). Are we really doing patents on colors now?
an absolute beauty, as long as you didn't touch it ;-)Long live this wonderful Black MacBook that I had... running Mac OS X Tiger 10.4!

If you were to believe Steve Jobs; "It's polycarbonate - the same stuff they use in bulletproof vests"I have a 2009 white model and it has chips all over the case. I wonder why that type of plastic was so prone to that.
Yes! One of these matte black machines with a matte display would be awesome—I had a matte version of the mid-2012 MacBook Pro and it was sooo much better than my current, glossy 16" MBP. I'm feeling pretty impatient about jumping onto the M1 ship, but if this rumour is real, I don't want to jump too early... I suppose first-half 2021 could be possible... maybe... Mind you, I'm definitely holding out for at 16" machine anyway. What about matte display? Wouldn't that be better?
Courageous, maybe?
