Can they get a patent for something that is basically already on the market? ie North Face iPhone gloves...
The U.S. Patent & Trademark Office today released a patent application from Apple describing research into gloves that allow the wearer to operate electronic devices. The patent application was filed on June 28th, 2007.
For all those people who ask "What will we do with 16 CPU cores?" My answer is "Gid rid of silly things like multi-touch pads and gloves. The little web cam in the LCD monitor will just look at your hands. Then you can play "air touch pad".
But how well will it work in -40 Canadian winters? the gloves look like something for spring or fall, but not winter, atleast for Canada
Warmer gloves (for those temperatures) are so bulky that using a relatively small device such as an iPhone is nearly impossible, regardless of whether they are multitouch compatible or not. My advice to -40 winter suffering Canadians is to 'go inside'.
Didn't they have those iPod socks?interesting. i don't really see apple releasing gloves for iphones though
Haha when I saw the thread title I was expecting something like what Tom Cruise uses in The Minority Report.
Not just some stupid ordinary gloves that have already been made by a bunch of other companies.
Start thinking for yourselves, Apple. You should be ashamed.
Not having been around Apple websites and such until about a year or two ago, has it always been like this? Speculation after speculation of a bunch of random crap before some big event?![]()
Yes, it's basically watching a bunch of pre-teen boys dreaming up a new gadget. In the old days, it was atomic powered rocket ships. Now it's tiny glossy computers.
Design limits and reason, outside of a sprinkling of previous Apple launch histories, are thrown out the window.
The Apple Product Cycle
Cold weather use of touch devices is a simple problem without a trivial solution.
