Wrong. It was specifically replying to your post and everything to do with what you said.

The Iphone 7 comes with headphones in the box, plus thousands of Bluetooth headsets available now in every price point that work well with it. Including beats which is (arguably) apple.

If rumor is true that they are converting to Bluetooth 5, they may be the best buds out there. Worth the extra wait to fine tune a better product. If you want rushed products, go Samsung!

I'm not sure you can really say the lightning EarPods work well with the iPhone 7, they are flakey even after the software update.

Bluetooth 5 earbuds wouldn't be compatible with any Apple product either soo..

Courageous enough to remove a ubiquitous port like the 3.5MM jack, but not courageous enough to have flagship accessories ready to support the change at launch.

Apple demonstrated true courage by showing their willingness to delay a product while they ironed out the kinks. Rather than ship a product that wasn't ready. Or haven't we learnt enough lessons from a certain exploding smartphone?

People hoping for this matter to deal some sort of strategic black eye to Apple will be sorely disappointed. The Airpods will launch with ample supply when it's ready, and we will see another record launch by Apple.

Good god. :D

As Winston Churchill said “Criticism may not be agreeable, but it is necessary. It fulfills the same function as pain in the human body; it calls attention to the development of an unhealthy state of things. If it is heeded in time, danger may be averted; if it is suppressed, a fatal distemper may develop."

I am not against criticism, but against inane, pointless criticism that serves zero purpose but clutter up the threads and make it an increasingly aggravating task to sift out the quality points from the crappy ones.

The first few pages of any new thread here is always more of the same old tired rethread. I don't think I am exaggerating anything when I say you can remove 70-80% of the mindless criticism and you wouldn't have missed anything of import.

Any recommendations what to get instead?

I bought some Bose QC30 wireless earbuds. They're excellent. I'll snag some AirPods to try when the're out, but I'm done waiting for Apple to get their crap together with the BeatsX this year.

Yeah... I'm not keen on drive-by criticism. I enjoy thoughtful conversations on the topic.

I'm also not a fan of drive-by defenses. If one wishes to defend Apple's choices for this launch, I'm sure a thoughtful defense could be made.

I'm critical of it, myself, but that's not going to make me start griping about how much Apple sucks, because I don't think the whole company is worthless just because they botched this launch.

You expect me to pay $150 for these POS headphones?!

I took the plunge yesterday and bought some Powerbeats 3, have to say I'm impressed, much better than I thought they would be.

Battery life is great, connectivity instant, a bit fiddly to put on but they sound impressive. Wore them for several hours with no discomfort, this is unusual for me with in ear headphones.

Still sticking with my B&W Wireless P7s in the house, but for out and about the Powerbeats 3 are great. I think they suffer from the general bad press associated previously with the brand and version 2 which had a some glitches. W1 chipset is very good.

What about sound quality?
I use EarPods a lot for making calls, but listening to music is disappointing and that's the main reason why I won't buy the AirPods. For that price I want a good quality to listen to music or enjoying audio while watching movies.

Nice

Getting powerbeats3 and beats solo3 for Christmas. 12 hours battery life is great with one review I saw said he got 48 hours with still 15% left :)

Love how these things connect to all my devices

I wear reading glasses and the one issue I do have that seems to affect sound quality is that the arms of my glasses are pushing the headphones slightly out of my ears and the seal is broken.

I have had Jaybird (old model) and Optoma NuForce BE6i's and they are much better than both of these. Would I say the sound quality is worth £160? No, but they have other major pluses such as water resistance and great battery life. If I want to listen to music for quality I would use my P7s.

Can't comment on making calls, sound quality for music seems great across various genres, haven't watched any video yet to see if there are any lip synching issues.

Not sure how much Beats Solo3's are but I can seriously recommend the B&W P7's, I owned the wired model and cannot believe that when using them wirelessly they sound just as good. Stunning headphones.
