I only use the Apple Card for Apple purchases only and nothing else. Mostly for the convenience.

I had a VISA credit card that I had never used. I went to Applebee's for dinner one night and used the card just to keep it active. The next day there four transactions from Mexico. VISA quickly blocked the card and removed the charges from my account. Someone from Applebee's stole the card number and passed it on to friend's in Mexico. Applebee's response was "not our problem".

Most impressive was Discover. My car got broken into on a Friday night and the wife's purse was stolen. I called all the credit card companies about 10:00 PM. VISA took a week to get me new credit cards. The credit union took 10 days to get me a new credit card. Discover sent me a new card via FedEx that arrived on Saturday at 9:30 AM. Less than 12 hours to get a replacement card.
 
I use the Apple Card for basically everything. I’ve had a few disputes over the years (5+), but every single one gave me a instant credit and eventually resolved the dispute in a couple of weeks, tops (usually a week).

Best card I’ve ever had. The customer service, the ease of use, sharing and managing spending for the other users, all of it. I basically keep the Apple Support iMessage chat pinned in my Messages and anything I need, from payment disputes to tech support, is all in one place.

I was frustrated that my iPhone 6S Plus developed a problem in the NFC for Apple Pay (I mean, it was an old phone), but that basically made me use my Apple Watch (S6) for all of my purchases (with the AC as the default).

Now I have a 16PM (and a S8 watch) and I’m set in my ways… why would I ever want a worse experience?

I never had a problem figuring out the payment options, I’ve financed a dozen or more products with their 0% plans. It sucks they stopped offering it for iPhones. I just paid the 16PM off all at once, I don’t carry balances over anymore (unless I finance a new device… looking at you M4 Mac Mini)…
 
The Apple Card is the best credit card I've ever owned, and it's my favorite. I love that payments show up instantly, that I get instant cash on transactions, and that I have a pretty high-interest savings account, among other card features.

But that doesn't mean that it's perfect. I haven't had any issues, but obviously others have, hence the CFPB's involvement. Apple and Goldman should stop fighting, pay the fines, stop the illegal conduct, and move on.
Maybe just like with the AVP, maybe “moving on” means Apple discontinuing the Apple Card as a niche product that was fun (for customers) as long as it lasted, but didn’t do Apple too many favors, being more trouble than it was worth. Now, that doesn’t mean it won’t influence cards from other companies in the future so I don’t think it was totally in vain.

There have been four or five times when I tried to use Apple Pay on my Apple Watch to pay with my Apple Card...my Watch restarted. Weird. But I don't blame the Apple Card for that, I blame Apple for that 😀

Apple Card is average to below average card at-best compared to what is out there and that's because Goldman Sachs can barely make money with this. That limits what they can do for new or current customers so people are just going to be trapped into "well this works, have a nice day" attitude.

No sign-up offer, or cashback after spending X amount after sign-up. That's already a dent on the credit report and not getting paid for it.

3% cashback options are small, can't be moved into what you normally buy. This is the largest one why it's mid. Not getting paid enough for giving them your business or paying off the card regularly. Unless it's Shopify vendor that has Apple Pay or a more modern one you're only getting 1% on most purchases.

Just a few days after I got the Apple card in late 2019, I got a random charge on it for near $5k at a snowboard shop in Colorado. I had never used the physical card, nor used the virtual apple pay card. I had literality never used the card in any capacity whatsoever, or entered the numbers anywhere online. Goldman Sach's did fix it, after several weeks (read nearly two months) of back and forth. They sure didn't want to side with me from the get-go and to this day, I have no idea how it happened...

I have much better cards now, and get rewards in the 5% or higher range, especially with miles and such. The Apple Card is a simple card, but pretty basic. AmEx blue, for example, is doing 3% on all online shopping, fuel and groceries and 1% on everything else, with no annual fee.
Cc#s are reused when one account closes and another opens. It was probably the previous owner of your cc#.

Lie down with dogs, wake up with fleas. What possessed Apple to partner with an organisation dedicated to defrauding even the 1%. Goldman Sachs is on deck for deliberately selling its own customers doomed securities. What made Apple think Goldman Sachs would treat Apple or Apple's customers any better than GS's own?
 
Apple Card has a great UI and I agree with your points, but its a HIGHLY average to below average card in terms of rewards. As such, I use other cards and rarely use Apple Card now.
I want to get an Apple Card but the rewards are way below average. Apple would have to give me substantial rewards to move away from Chase.

I LOVE my Apple Card, I love how it's integrated with the OS and the real time transactions etc.

That being said, I also had a similar experience to many. I purchased an item which never arrived and got the worst customer experience imaginable. I fought for over a year, continually disputing it and every time would just receive some generic printout which showed nothing. Ended up eating the cost.
 
I also do wish the Wallet app would let you tick box select line items, let you pay off that exact amount, then lightly strikethrough those transactions.
 
I dropped the Apple Card when they said I won a dispute, but kept debiting the charges back on the card every other day. I said something about it, and they gave me no proof that they weren't messing up the available credit on my card, so I closed it.

I'm going to close mine too. So many sketchy stories about this card and now this fine. I hardly use it anyway.

Exactly how I felt when this "partnership" was very first announced

I have had two separate disputes over $1,200 that Goldman Sachs’s failed to investigate. They gave me an immediate credit, put me in their dispute backlog, refused to take my documentation evidence, and then closed both of them in favor of the vendor.

After disputing a second time and waiting another three months, over six months total to be resolved, they finally took my evidence and one of them was closed in my favor. How do you finish a dispute investigation without requesting evidence that was offered months ago and never allowed to be submitted?

The second vendor, which was actually Apple, who lost my iPhone trade-in after documented confirmed delivery, finally gave me my refund so I withdrew the dispute.

Countless hours on the phone, no replies, and many months later, I prevailed. That was enough for Goldman Sachs’s to put a note on my credit report saying that I disputed charges after their investigation was complete. They didn’t mention that they were wrong and failed the consumer both times. It’s satisfying knowing that they will pay a little for their customer treatment.

Do you think now that they have received this judgement, they will go back and remove their derogatory information from my credit report? I’m not holding my breath. And I will not see anything for all of the grief and wasted hours of my time trying to get someone, anyone at Goldman Sachs’s, to do their job.

You know they are playing a little game with you when they request info while using the email address - applecard_support@post.applecard.apple

But when they quietly take the money back, they use another email address - no_reply@post-account.applecard.apple

The 2nd email went straight to my spam. If they really wanted me to see that message, then why not send it from an address which we used before, or better yet, a direct message to my phone?
