And how do we get our hands on one?
(Besides the obvious, getting a job there)

Make it yourself, or have someone else make one for you? I know plenty of people who can screenprint shirts, and I've done iron-ons before (but going the iron-on route sucks. Just find someone with a screenprinter and ask them to do it for you.) Or there's probably no shortage of online services that can do this for you for a small fee.

I'm not sure about this. I like how they wear brighter colors so they are easier to see. This is helpful in the local Apple Store which is usually pretty crowded.

My thoughts exactly. When I look for an employee, I look for blue shirt.

I worked at Apple retail, circa 2001-2003. Black shirts were very common then. Biggest problem was that black tends to: 1) fade as it's washed 2) show lots of hair and dust (if you have a cat or dog, you're screwed). They also used to be in more of a stretch material, not just a cotton t-shirt.

Many Apple employees also suffer from psoriasis and dandruff, which also don't jive well with black shirts.

I don't understand why this is considered news.

It's not, it's rumors! ;)

T-Shirts are what is appropriate for serving high end customers.

Do they have to avoid making eye contact when they serve the elite too?

oh ....... no one will notice Apple employers... They can wear a kilt and users will still come to get one...

Besides, it looks no different than the one i already have..

Change for the sake of change. Shows that's Angela is just tossing out various changes hoping that something makes a difference.

ah - so you work in apple head quarters and attend staff meetings, sit between her and Cook, etc...?

otherwise i dont think you have any idea what youre talking about.

Follow the Concierge process and you won't have an issue.

Are we sure that Joni didn't design these? They're awfully flat and plain looking.

Also, if the move to a classier black look is all about trying to sell the classy (cough, expensive) Watch accessory, does that mean that they're going to fire all of the employees with tattoos, nose piercings, and ear gauges, or are they just going to hide them in the back room?

Sometimes they end up on Ebay after the fact. That's how I got my Apple hockey jersey from the OS X launch in Canada.

that's freakin' awesome!! as if you couldn't tell i'm a huge hockey fan... a lil bit jealous :p

I was expecting something more. like a sketch of the watch or something..

Surprised they aren't black shirts. Most of my clients are in the high-end salon hair products and almost all of them wear black. Black (dark) clothing is the typical style for high end fashion stores so I guess Apple is splitting the difference with friendly t-shirts/polos in the intimidating fashion color.

That was my first thought too. If this is supposed to convey a higher class look, not sure it works all that well

I bet that the new shirt is for Apple Watch "experts" only, not for all the store employees. Black(*) is a fashionable color, plus people would keep asking to blue shirts (which are more vulnerable than redshirts) the first questions about Apple products.

(*) ok ok, it's navy blue... looks like black.

Gotta go to an Apple Store this Saturday to take my girlfriend's iPad in for a Genius appointment and also to pick a lightning - SD connector up, probably gonna try to bag an Apple Watch appointment for that day. Probably gonna have to be quick though. Do we know if we'll be able to set up an appointment via the Apple Store app the minute the pre-order goes live?

can't wait until the apple shirts go back to the classic skeuomorphic style, these new flat shirts look like they belong in kindergarten :apple:
