I really hope you get some capitalist counseling.
Personally i think its a disgrace that its been this long since a release. 395 days today since
the iPhone 4.
It isn't ideal, I will admit that. However I wouldn't call it a disgrace, it is a unfortunate reality.
Releasing a new phone each year was already too long between updates. Were not talking
about a new computer here. Its not as complex as that. Mostly, we get a new iOS, a few
minor hardware updates and on occasion a new case design. It could be done in three months
if required.
Actually it can't be done that quickly. Besides I suspect you don't have a clue when it comes to understanding the complexity in build new hardware from the ground up. Plus there is the software side of the equation.
I mean it couldn't have taken Apple one year to upgrade the 3G to the 3GS which
were effectively exactly the same with some internal tweaks. Its all intentional, the 3GS was
probably ready and tested soon after the 3G was released yet it was let run for a year to
maximise profits. I can understand that.
Pure speculation on your part.
Apple are one of the most profitable companies in
the world. But its at the stage now that user satisfaction is being compromised to maximise
profits.
BS! Most users are very satistfied with their iPhone 4's. The only people complaint are those like you with no clue or an emotional need to have something new.
Theres only one Mobile Phone manufacturer that could get away with it! Lucky for Apple,
its them.
Actually anybody could if they produced a quality device and kept it updated. This is a key reality of iPhone, Apple does update the software for their phones and it is easy for owners to update. Every iPhone 4 out there is a fully modern device if the owner does his part.
I cant find exact numbers but i'd say Nokia released at least 40 handsets last year without
breaking a sweat.
You can't be serious! Nokia is close to closing it's doors and demand for those phones it released this year have collapsed. In effect they broke the bank with all of those releases.
They're cheap (Cheapest is 8% of the total iPhone 4 cost and most expensive
one is still 200 cheaper than the best iPhone),come with two years warranty as standard,
are usually aesthetically pleasing enough, there is always a new one around when its time
to upgrade and best of all (unlike the iPhone 4) you could have a clear conversation on it
no matter what way you held it. All other mobile manufactures manage to give us 3 or 4
new ones a year with no problems too.
Again you don't seem to comprehend the financial issues that most of the other hand set makers are suffering from. In any event you clearly highlight your mental issues with things that are new. Most people prefer that that works well, thus an explosion in iPhone sales. Apples numbers speak for themselves, people want value for their money.
I say, firstly if Apple give us an iPhone 4S after one year and two months of waiting i'm
certainly not buying it. It doesn't take one year and two months to put an 8MP camera
and and A5 chip in an iPhone 4.
How do you know this? For example what if that A5 chip required a process shrink to keep power manageable. As to cameras Apple has pretty high standards here, I'm certain that getting the camera right for the next iPhone is no trivial matter.
If they don't give me the 64GB storage i've needed for years, i'm not buying it.
Actually I agree here.
If i even hear the word 'Antennagate' mentioned at all i'm not buying it.
Easily manipulated I see!!
I encourage you all to follow suite. If it doesn't meet your needs. Keep your iPhone 4,
3GS,3G or 2G until they make a phone which has exactly what you need.
I'd like an iPhone with lips (so it feels good in the pocket) do you think I should wait for Apple to make one?
Look it is pretty simple, by their nature mass produced items are compromises, it is highly unlikely that anyone will exactly meet your needs or my needs fir that matter. IPhone just happens to be the closest at meeting most people's needs.
We are the customer, and its about time Apple listened to us and started building phones
that we want, phones that meet our needs. Not prescribing beautiful pieces of crap that
need to be sent for Apple service 4 times a year (in my case).
Funny I haven't sent my iPhone 4 anywhere for service. Makes you wonder where the problem is here.
There was a time not so long ago that when you bought an Apple product you bought it
because you didn't mind paying extra with the peace of mind that the product was
solid and would last for years once carefully maintained. That time, looks to be disappearing
fast, and let me assure you i'll be the first to go with it.
Bye bye! Seriously Apple doesnt need customers that are so disconnected from reality. Disconnected you are because you have missed just how strongly Apples products have been accepted in the market. Further you have missed the sharp decline of Nokia and other handset manufactures. The reality is few have a need for a new phone every couple of months. With smart phones the desire is actually the opposite as they become integrated into people's lives more and more.
