All they need to do is integrate the features into garageBand.
Also, why does Clips still exist?
They really could discontinue that one too, and just integrate the features into either the camera app or iMovie

This is a shame, I like this app and do use it sometimes. It was a bit buggy, but they could have fixed it. Oh well.

This is a real pisser. Nothing worse than being one of the few devoted lovers of a piece of software, or a TV show, that is was never given the love it deserved and is being abandoned. Cool app, I've literally made 100's and 100's of messages in it. I feel like sometimes Apple has great initial ideas, abandons them, and then wonders why no one is using them.

Discontinuing an underused, underdeveloped app that most people have never heard of nor knew existed...sounds like Apple is having a very “Google” moment right now! 😂

This should have been more developed as it was a great app when it came out...side note, bring back Aperture!

Poor Apple. They need to understand the Steve Jobs ideal of a computer as a tool is a joke. Uncle Steve was wrong. What we want is Fortnite, not stupid artsy-fartsy apps. I can count literally zero people who use any sort of computer for artistic endeavour. Zero. None. Nada. And this proves it as it proves Apple cancelling Aperture. Hopefully next they'll cancel iMovie, GarageBand, and stupid Final Cut.

I never knew this app existed, I may have to download it just to see what it offers over voicememos, it might just have been the portable recording app I've needed not knowing it existed..... how did that happen Apple?
Exactly my thoughts. I don't know how they failed so hard on this.

The app was terrible. Super buggy and slow—often freezing or crashing. Wish Apple had put more effort into it. Voice Memos is pretty limiting for musicians who want to record something quick and spontaneously.
Interesting. My partner is a professional musician who both composes AND sings. He doesn't use Music Memos and instead prefers Voice Memos.

MusicMemos was perfect for recording my kids’ school concerts. Used it constantly, and wasn’t a huge drain on the battery like GarageBand can be.

VoiceMemos is not a viable alternative, as it records at super-low fidelity, and bit-rate can’t be adjusted.

They should have called it Garageband Express and let the interns play with it a bit. My oldest Music Memo Idea is Jan 20th, 2016.

That's a shame. I use the guitar tuning option all the time. Is there another app that can do this? Apart from GarageBand - that's too heavy-duty an app to open just to tune your guitar.

Damnit. Does anyone know if there's an alternative that figures out the key of what you're recording? That was why I used the app. Hum or sing a quick idea and then it would tell you the key and it was super useful for revisiting them.

How does he tune his guitar? Music Memos has a very good tuning feature. It's very handy if you want to grab a guitar and bash out a few ideas.

I started using it and it felt like it did everything wrong for me. Then I tried Voice Memo's and it did most of the things I wanted. Seemed like either Music Memo's wasn't for me or it had some serious flaws.
