I can get a used iPhone X for the same price. Makes one think...

I don't know about that. Given its size, I think it replaces the 8+It's "cheaper than the 8 Plus" says Phil... yes, but more expensive than the iPhone 8 it really replaces. So once again, Apple hikes the prices across the board...
"Haptic Touch" is a really stupid name if you think about it. It's exactly like "Visual Sight", i.e completely redundant
iPhone XS:
Some Unknowns: Wifi speeds (2x2 vs 4x4 MIMO), RAM.
Tim Cook lost it way as well as Apple. It truly shows with the current prices, that the only thing he cares is about performing for the investors and charge outrageous prices rather than for users that actually purchase the Apple products. You can see all along the Apple line up with the iMac Pro, and the Macbook Pro both ridiculously expensive.

Ugly notch coupled with ugly flat UI.
But they are adding hapic touch as trackpads, which is almost the same, 3d touch detects different pressure which in real world means just 1 push, I dont know any app beyond some games which detect different pressures, or am I wrong?Well, google's new Chrome update has extensive 3d touch support...
I think 3D touch is EXCELLENT - adding tactility to a touch experience is excellent, they just are price gating the feature.
Apple can use all their fancy terminology "liquid retina", it still is 720p.
Guys, in the keynote they say 120Hz touch-sensing, is that an 120Hz display or 120Hz touch input as this article refers to https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-iPhone-X-screen-refresh-rate-Is-it-120Hz-or-60Hz-Apple-hasn’t-mentioned-it-in-their-announcement
It may or may not be indicative of where they're going. They had to create a new type of LCD display for a corner to corner screen all while making a less expensive iPhone X with very few other compromises. 3D Touch was left out on this model but it's been kept in the OLED models.
The language Phil used does say something about the future of 3D Touch though: "like we do on the iPad". They probably don't have any plans to bring 3D Touch to the iPad. I wonder if the Apple Watch Series 4 has 3D Touch. It's another all new display. If they left 3D Touch out there too, then I think we can assume that 3D Touch will be killed off the next time the OLED iPhones get a newly engineered display.
It's too bad, I think it had a lot of potential and really suffered from lack of discoverability — a solvable UI challenge.
The SoC is great. It’s everything else that is the problem. Inferior resolution, no 3D Touch, inferior camera. I have to wait for the entire specs to be released before I pass final judgment of course but it is underwhelming. I don’t see why most would choose the XR instead of a discounted 8 or 8 Plus or even a discounted original NIB X over the XR unless they don’t want to be seen with the “old” design.

Wrong. It is comparable to, even bigger screen, than the 8 Plus.
Why would a phone that is supposed to be the inferior version get all the colors while the XS only has gold? You pay the highest price for the XS but cannot choose from the same colors? Totally wack.
Anyone have a clue what the "r" in iPhone Xr means? Nothing special with the liquid retina that lacks 3D Touch so any other theories?
I beg you pardon, but it always has been the tenfold, some fellow Europeans correct me if I’m wrong?
The XR (R- idiculous):
Pro Motion won't stop it looking like a 720p screen. After you stop focusing on one aspect of the display and realize it's the same resolution as phones from 2010.
