I have a photo booth company is it possible to hook up my printer through the USB-C Port on the iPad Pro

I finally got to watch the Keynote, yesterday evening, and alas...even the 11" is HUGE. I'd REALLY love all the functionality in a tad smaller form factor. I want to be able to hold it with one hand for extended periods of times. Even in their promotional videos, pretty much everyone had the tablet on their lap or a table all the time. It kinda contradicts the main advantage of a tablet.....might as well just use a laptop if I have to sit it down, anyways.

I keep hating the notion at Apple that bigger is always better.

If you want to live with Windows then, by no means, go get the surface or whatever and maintain the system yourself. Because you never know when an update gonna wipe out your data.
I used Windows since 1990. Not a single time has it wiped out my data. For about a decade now, all I need to do for OS upgrade on my desktop is to click "Yes" when asked. There were some minor hiccups with drivers when upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 8 but those seem really minor compared with the pains Mac owners have been going through with their OS updates.

I grew up on Windows in the 90s, have been a proficient Windows user until 2007. I continue having to use Windows at my job. Never even once did I have a comparable amount of problems on OSX/macOS than I have had and continue to have on Windows. OSX/macOS updates have never been a pain, for me.

I wish apple would have offered a 3rd ipad pro, same size as the old 12.9 but larger screen.

but even without that I would have liked to have seen for lack of a better term "Target Display Mode"

so i could use this a external monitor when I travel and need to work (possibly would have bought 2 if this was the case) 3rd party options like duet display make this work but a platform agnostic no app middleware option like acting like a standard usb-c monitor would be ideal.

it would also be nice to see "Target Disk Mode" even if i needed in say the files app to partition off space as a mass storage device

Exactly! The iPad pros have liberated artists. It’s the ultimate digital sketchbook. Such an amazing amazing tool that’s well worth the price. Even if that’s all it did...but it does so much more. So much.
Would love it to be watertight to finally realize Andy Kays vision of the «dynabook that you can take with you ANYWHERE» from the early 70’s.

I love all the new products, but, just to make sure I understand, I now need:

- 1 pair of 3.5-jack headphones for my Mac
- 1 pair of Lightning headphones for my iPhone
And
- 1 pair of USB-C headphones for my iPad Pro?

Geee. Thanks for great product integration Apple...

Or use Bluetooth for all devices

Or use Bluetooth for all devices

How does one share a Bluetooth connection with another person from the same device?

Bluetooth has too much lag to be used for gaming, or audio recording and editing.

I suppose if these are not issues for someone, then BT will probably work across all devices, with various degrees of complexity in pairing them and repairing them. For instance, BT headphones paired to an iPhone will have to somehow be switched to the Mac the iPhone is laying next to, or an iPad, or any combination of switching the connection back and forth as needed.

And don’t forget - 1 pair of BT headphones for your Apple Watch!

If it has a USB-C port, it should be compatible, shouldn’t it? That’s how USB works, right? I’m sure it won’t cause any confusion at all when people buy USB-C devices for the iPadPro and plug them in expecting them to work, and then they don’t.

so now you'll need a extra power bank for the extra juice the devices will use including to keep charging the headphones themselves.

if you care the audio quality still isn't as good as wired.

you'll have to deal with pairing issues because switching between devices isn't seamless, unless your talking AirPods but even can have issues and have their own downsides.

oh and you might aswell get a 2nd set of bluetooth headphones as you need a pair to use while the other ones charge.

so after all that while we are close to parity bluetooth is still the inferior option.... but your right he could use Bluetooth for all devices

My BT headset lasts days. It's really not that difficult to charge it overnight every once in a while.

Switching between devices isn't seamless? Well not more or less seamless than unplugging and plugging back in cables.

I'm never going back to cables if I at all can avoid it. I work in bioacoustics, but I'm not an audiophile, but I personally didn't notice any difference in quality or significant lag.

Why can’t I charge my Airpods off the same power bank? It uses the same lightning cable as my iPhone, and it doesn’t really consume that much power, so it’s not going to break the (power) bank.

I do care about audio quality up to a point, but there are also other factors that matter just as much to me, such as convenience and ease of use.

Having used Airpods for close to two years now, I find I can no longer tolerate the feel of wires around my neck. That’s how much Airpods have spoilt me.

Yup, never had that issue with Airpods.

Bluetooth is better in the areas that matter to me, while being inferior in the areas which I don’t really care about.

I have made my peace. Been a happy Airpods user since they were released in end 2016 and have not looked back since.

most bluetooth headphones don't last days of continuous use most are rated at between 8-12hours if you have ones that last days honestly im curious what they are.

i personally can't tell audio quality differences that well without a AB test to compare but just cause it matters little to me doesn't change the objective fact that corded is capable of higher quality.
arguing otherwise would be like me saying 4K doesn't matter because i wear glasses (while in some cases true, other cases not it still doesn't change the fact that 4k is superior to 1080p for example)

as for switching between devices its far from seamless (as stated AirPods excluded but they have their own issues)

try pairing your headphones to your mac, PC, iPad and iPhone and you will see not only do you need to do the initial pairing on each device but if you constantly switch between devices its a constant, turn off headphones, turnoff bluetooth of device they were using, make sure its on on the device you want and its off elsewhere, then turn on the headphone and then vice-versa

at least with a cable you stick it in the whole and it works, no initial setup and no audio playing on the wrong device because you didn't toggle the right one etc.

the point i was making was "wired headphones vs bluetooth headphones"

in that equation, using bluetooth headphones not only does the phone itself use more battery keeping the bluetooth radio on and running compared with wired but the headphones themselves use there own power that will need recharged at some point.

wired doesnt

so in the hypothetical scenario to give them each the same level of battery life you would need a power bank, it can be the same powerbank for the phone and headphones (im not claiming you need two powerbanks)
im saying you overall have less battery with bluetooth thus live with that downside or use a powerbank to compensate.

the part that may have confused you there was i was saying for a fair comparison you would need 2 sets of bluetooth headphones (not 2 powerbanks)to compare to wired headphones, the reason being with wired i could hypothetically listen all day whereas to match that i would need the 2nd set to use while set number one charges.

yeah you shouldnt. airpods can have their own issues but pairing issues are not one of them normally

fair enough, people can have their preferences regardless to if one is better or worse then a alternative.

Who listens to music (or whatever they're listening to) non-stop for 12+ hours? The headphones I have are rated for 20 hours wireless listening (and that is WITH noise cancelling, mind you) and they most definitely make that. Maybe if you care so much for good-quality music (see your next point), don't penurious when being headphones.

But why care, if you personally can't tell the difference or don't care? "Just because"? Like, I know a Ferrari is faster than my mid-class SUV. But I don't need and don't want a Ferrari and my car still goes fast enough (can go much faster than is even allowed). So why does it matter that the Ferrari can go faster? How does it IMPACT me?

as for switching between devices its far from seamless (as stated AirPods excluded but they have their own issues)

Oh you know, I constantly pair my headphones with multiple devices. Most of the time it pairs automatically. Sometimes I have to push the "pair" button on my headphones if the device I want isn't "next in line", which takes less than 30s, usually. You know how long it takes to only entangle my cabled headphones? So far I never even once had to go into the device's settings again because of pairing issues.

Would it be even better with Airpods and other headphones with W1? Of course (my husband has headset with W1 and zero issues). That doesn't mean it's unbearable for headphones without W1. As I said, I never even once head any of the issues people sometimes describe when it comes to BT headphones.

I feel like you're desperately cling to straws and try to find arguments to make your case against BT headsets - without even having them tried yourself.

And no, it's been shown again and again that BT does not significantly drain the battery. Besides, BT on my phone is one regardless for multiple other use cases.
