Remember when the minimum wage was raised?

Remember when any wages were raised to keep in line with inflation & the costs of living??

Remember when folks could pay off & own their homes before retirement???

Remember when folks could actually retire????

Exactly things change.

Well this stinks. According to the Verge "but we’ve confirmed that it will not support external storage over USB-C". No access to external hard drives.

I'm not sure they ever will support it. Adding support for external storage reduces the need for an iCloud storage subscription. Apple wants your recurring revenue forever...

I'm not a big photographer with my iPad, but it just seems like the new cameras are worse (?) than on the 10.5/2nd gen iPad Pros?

Counter-question: What kind of work do you regard as "serious"?

I can only speak for myself, but the limitations of iOS for me are:

The inability to have multiple documents of the same type open at the same time
The file system limitations
The lack of mouse support
Certain applications that aren't available on the iPad (including Xcode Apple!)

While I agree the OIS seems like a miss, I'm not sure what the 5- versus 6-element lens means... Maybe it's more efficient?

Smart HDR is their new HDR version they just introduced on the XS and XS Max, so I'd call that an improvement.

Hello, I had a very quick question. Will the new iPad Pro 11" be available to purchase in store Nov. 7th?

So, essentially you want a Mac in tablet form? The question then bears: why? What advantages to you hope to gain from that form factor except maybe touch (and if you have mouse support, why touch?)? Macbooks have gotten so thin and lightweight, they're essentially tablets supporting all of the above. Maybe you're just not the target group for a tablet? Which is perfectly fine, but why do you sound offended about that?

Maybe I really just don't get it.

If it weren't for my need for Endnote, I could easily do all my writing on an iPad (with a proper keyboard). I can prepare and give presentations. With LR for iOS, I can develop and edit my photos. Even PS is coming to iOS. My husband has been editing videos on his iPad. We use iPads for fieldwork (marine ecology). I know iPads are being used in the medical and educational sectors.

Which of those is not "serious" work?

Are they using the same Intel WiFi modems that they are using in the phones? My husband's WiFi iPad from last year has the absolute slowest WiFi speeds of iPad Air 2/iPhone 6/iPhone 6s and our new Xs aren't getting terrific speeds either

Oh wow...I'm really impressed by that thing! time to upgrade my 1st gen 9.7 Pro!
[doublepost=1540933239][/doublepost]is the screen still 120 Hz?

Easy, so I can consolidate devices. I currently have both the 10.5 and 12.9 iPad Pros, a 15" MBP and a high end Windows desktop PC that I use for different purposes. With the current limitations in iOS I am forced to continue using multiple devices. With some improvements in iOS I could reduce the number of devices I use. The iPad's are easily powerful enough hardware-wise to handle everything I do.

It’s those limitations that allow iOS and iPad to be what it is. I’m not looking to consolidate devices. iPad is complimentary.

I’d have preferred higher resolution since oled isn’t coming. That’s the main disappointment

This thing is a beast and kinda makes me think that it will cannibalize the Macbook Air sales. Someone tell me why the Macbook Air is better than the 12.9" model?

Well with the keyboard it’s the same price as the Air and yet you only get 64gb and yet it’s still just iOS device

I would guess that OLED would be the big thing in next years model to get people to upgrade.

Still limited by iOS. All that toast and no jelly.
If you want to live with Windows then, by no means, go get the surface or whatever and maintain the system yourself. Because you never know when an update gonna wipe out your data.

Most boring singer ever zzzzz

Well her lyrics are often x rated. “My pu**y tastes like Pepsi Cola” for instance. Lol

Agreed! 64 is manageable since most storage can just be uploaded to the cloud but I’m afraid I might kick myself if Adobe allows for better InDesign/InCopy, etc management like Photoshop so that’s what’s pushing me towards the 256 option

But def think they should’ve started @ 128 since allows all the way to 1TB smh

If Adobe brought InDesign to the iPad. I could finally retire my MacBook Pro. Here’s hoping.

Exactly things change.

especially profit margins.

because none of those other items have anything to do with the increased costs of the ipad.
[doublepost=1540942731][/doublepost]12.9" ipad pro, 256, wifi $1999
12.3" Surface pro 6, 256, wifi, $2049

yeah

Along with another $200 price increase on top of what they already did?

12.9 Ipad pro old price 1499, 256gb
12.9 ipad pro new price 1999, 256gb

woooooo

I just cancelled my 11” order from today morning. Too expensive for my usage profile, so I will stick with my Air 2 for another year. I really think they took the price increase too far, especially with the accessories, e.g. smart cover.

My wife’s Air needs to be replaced, so waiting for Back Friday deals for the normal 9.7 model.
