Also bumped up the Pencil price $30.
Ouch, they needed to make it more affordable and supported more. They swung and missed on those.
If they made it in the $75 range, people would buy it without thinking twice and not really needing it.

I can only imagine they did the same thing with the folio keyboard. I'm guessing they will stretch to the $200 mark for that.

And the game demo is irrelevant if you can't control it. No one is going to play console graphic games with a touchscreen.
I was really hoping they would either announce a controller or bluetooth controller support. How hard would that be?

Anticipating the higher range prices

Nice hardware, but iOS sucks, need a real desktop class OS if they want to be a "real computer" Mobile OS won't cut it. Also mouse support needed. Price a bit high, can get a surface pro on sale for that price.

I’m really interested in the 12.9” for work, however I also like to use my iPad in the evenings for streaming video in bed. I hope that it isn’t unwieldy when using it laying down like the previous 12.9 was said to be. What do you guys think?

This thing is a beast and kinda makes me think that it will cannibalize the Macbook Air sales. Someone tell me why the Macbook Air is better than the 12.9" model?

It appears so. But there is on a MacBook Air!

There’s gonna be a lot of wires hanging out of that Pro device to connect the power, USB-C to Lightning dongles, and headphone dongles for professional music and film production.

Ironic their musical performer referenced how Apple produces products for the way they produce music, which almost certainly does not involve Bluetooth headphones...

On the plus side, docks should work with the iPad. Now to find one which supports a headphone jack for presentations...

Heads up, just ordered the baseline 11" model for $749 by going through the education section. Didn't ask for me for any details related to being a student or teacher.

Way too expensive for the storage you'd want. The starting prices don't even matter. Photoshop in 2019. You may as well wait a bit to grab one later. Have to say I was a bit disappointed they didn't go into the Pencil more. Or the USB C. I would've preferred to see a demo but assume and thought I remember them saying it'd connect to storage devices which could make the 256gb one sufficient.

I ordered the 12.9" iPad Pro with Apple Pencil 2nd gen, Smart Folio Case in charcoal, and USB-C to SD card adapter.

That was a whole lot of money I just spent. Damn. But my iPad is the personal computer that I use most. I use my Mac but mostly at work. I kind of regret buying that 10.5" in summer 2017, but at least my wife will get good use out of it. I decided against the keyboard because I have hardly used mine, and even though I barely used it, it came apart at the seams and Apple had to send me a new one. I've only used it once since Apple sent me a new one, so hopefully it lasts my wife.

Still limited by iOS. All that toast and no jelly.
It’s made leaps and bounds in the last few releases. Just wait till iOS 13 and we’ll see the true potential; iOS 12 was well rumored to be the UI change year until they were almost forced to focus on stability and optimization (speed).

If you’re waiting for it to be fully customizable that day will never come. Even macOS is going more toward secure every new major release. High security and customization don’t go together. Most people don’t want to worry about malware, etc and don’t need for it to be Linux. They want an appliance that works every time with zero maintenance.

If you’re waiting for the file system to be more accessible than it’s getting there with every release as well. Files is vastly better than it was (started with no file manager remember?). It still isn’t quite what everyone wants but they’re figuring out how to keep it secure at the same time and making progress.

They already support controllers. Just google MFi Controllers. This one is pretty popular: https://www.amazon.com/SteelSeries-Nimbus-Wireless-Gaming-Controller/dp/B01AZC3III

I’ll be ordering the 11” model. Looks amazing.

I’ll be very interested to know which USB C docks work with it.

No mention of the charging mat.

Already ordered. 12.9 in space gray, 256, Wifi+Cell. Went ahead and ordered the new keyboard and Gen 2 pencil. OUCH... But it's my first iPad since the first gen 12.9 "way" back in 2015.
