Not for me. I prefer reality.
Well, it's a start. I think wearing something like a scuba mask is the nerdiest thing ever. But eventually, this tech will become almost invisible like in normal glasses or even contact lenses. Watching the presentation, the tech of this thing is quite amazing. Brave new world.

Apple could save all these money and donate them to poor people all over the world. Instead they are entering a market where people don’t even care for VR devices under just 500 bucks. They are trying so hard to offer a new big hit but the cold truth is that it’s main source of profits is still their smartphones….. an iPhone company.
It's a corporation bro, not a charity.

You're venting. I get it.

That said, just don't buy it and keep stepping. I've observed for decades critics on messageboards of varying stripes say this or that product would be a total failure and bla bla bla...just observe and see, okay?

It's a long term project, unlike the iPhone or iPad the core technology to deliver this in an effective and useful manner doesn't actually exist. We see a similar path with foldable devices at the moment and that's with technology that's less ambitious. If Apple stick with this you'd hope to see cheaper and lighter subsequent versions appear over several years.

Despite the advancement of technology I don't believe this is a 4-5 years advancement, we're probably looking at more like a decade. The question is whether Apple will stick with it or quietly shelve this in 18 months time?

Even the ad model looks unimpressed. This is going to flop. no one wants this. Only 5-10 businesses use this. This is not worth the money or the time. This isn't life changing like the iPhone was. This is just a sad attempt to catch up to meta and hololens. Embarrassing. Steve Jobs is rolling in his grave.... if he hasn't been the past how many years.

Soooo...where's the killer app?

Disney3d+ isn't it.
Apple Arcade games aren't it.

If you ever see me walking around in public wearing one of these, remind me of the glasshole comments I've made in the past.
The killer apps are movie watching at home, attending sports events, and concerts. It’s revolutionary because they nailed it and totally killed the competition.

Remember, just like the mp3 player, you don’t have to be the first company to release something to win the “race”. Just learn from everyone else, do better than competitors, and endeavor to be the best.

One more comment and then I'll be quiet. This is a tech demo product. It's highly polished but this is just the first step. Don't count this and the future versions out. It's possible it will fail but we won't know that until at least 2030. Be patient. Let the early adopters and Apple's engineers work out the issues.

Idk but I don’t really see it being interesting to me 🤷‍♂️. Idk not really into VR headsets. Looks annoying.

this is going to flop so hard, it'll wrap around and be a success!

This is a shocking amount of technology. The patents around this are going to be insane, but that's going to make Apple the only player with this level of capability. And each one is customized?

It's dystopian and it's going to have to have thousands of niche applications to be successful.

Like others have said- this is gen1... lets watch it mature and then come back to this thread in 7 years.

"Adult content"

Seriously. This is an amazing device. I think I don't need an Apple TV any more for watching movies and stuff.

But this isn't just 3D.
Right, but like I said, I thought the other examples go without saying, but most every case they showed, who really wants to do that?

The Dad and has kid? The guy in the office?

People aren't going to do any of those things at any of the scale a successful Apple product has. Like I say, at most 1% of iPhone users will add this, unless it changes dramatically.

This is a new revolution. There is nothing like this on the market. It's an extension of our iPhone, Ipad, and Mac.
Being able to bring your Laptop app in Vision Pro is amazing. Full immersion or not, controlling how much you want to be immerse, detect people next to you and fade. Amazing what they have been able to accomplish.
So much technology, research, and love has been put in this product.
Can't wait to try it. It's going to change a lot of things.
Yeah the naysayers have completely missed the breadth and depth of content this has on day 1 before anyone starts making unique content
