Apple learned nothing from the failure of the OG HomePod. Too expensive to be anything other than a very niche product.
I’d love Apple for once to use real people in their commercials and not the idealised “Apple People”.

It’s expensive for what you think it is, but it’s about the same price as a MacBook Pro with some upgrades. So it’s not TOTALLY insane. They spent the whole time justifying why its expensive and with all the tech In it, it makes sense it would hit this price point. I dont know if I’ll get the first gen though.

This is really well done. I think Apple solved a lot of issues that other VR headsets had. Again, this will be the best VR headset by far, from what I have seen. Coming next year though. Interesting.
The price completely kills it for me. I just can't justify it for myself.
I'd really love to know what some of the execs at Apple really think about this. I just can't comprehend how Craig F for example thinks this product is a good idea.
I was excited by the iPhone, iPad, Watch... this leaves me cold.
Wow, so that will be about $8000 here in New Zealand. Looks amazing and I understand how much work they have put into it, but it's not for me at that price unfortunately. Maybe in 5 years I can get the Vision air 64 GB version...

It’s really cool tech. It will be great for movies and games (if head fatigue doesn’t become a thing). Maybe interesting to use for editing photos/video and doing stuff like 3D modeling…. but until they can get it out of the “big, bulky ski goggle” form factor it has ZERO mainstream appeal at all. Like absolutely none.
Even then the movie thing is kind of suspect. Like how often are you watching a movie completely alone? If you’re in a group, you need at least $7,000 to enjoy this with someone else ha.

Way to go Apple…launch a $3500 AR headset in a recession. Even in good economic times this thing would be a failure at that price.
I've got to say... we have witnessed history. I think this will be another another iPhone moment. We are living in the future.. again!!
The production costs on this thing must be insanely high at this point. Would not surprise me if Apple plans on losing money for the first few years. Never mind the insurance costs of shipping demo models to potential users to get their specs etc. Why not have Apple stores do that?
