If that iPod is expected to run the same OS as Apple's other 64-bit products, absolutely.
Does it make sense to put a 64-bit processor into an iPad? If yes, why wouldn't it make sense to put it into an iPod touch. The iPod touch is technically nothing but smaller iPad (the WiFi-only model). Yes, the iPod touch has a smaller screen than iPads but it has the same screen size and resolution as the iPhone 5s, in which the 64-bit processor debuted.

Did anyone else pay attention to the Clock app? It could be showing when the planned announcement time is. The app face showed about 9:40, so maybe the announcement will be made at or shortly thereafter 9:40 AM PST? You have to zoom in on the image and stare at the iPod's clock app for a few seconds to see it. Does it sound plausible to anyone else that the time as well as the date could be shown in the image?

40 minutes in is always the time that Apple aims to reveal new products during the keynotes. The first 20 is normally just numbers, the next 20 is normally updates to existing products, and then new product announcements start at 40 minutes. There was an interview where Steve Jobs brought it up that they found that was optimal timing - wait any longer and people get bored and tune out - do it any sooner and you don't have a platform to talk about sales and updates on.

Anyways, I guess having the iPod Touch come out before the new iPhone probably means the new iPod Touch won't have Force Touch and Taptic Feedback. Too bad, I was hoping to get the iPod Touch so I could test out those new features without having to buy a new iPhone when I just bought the 6+.

I'm really liking my nano 7g. But it really needs a software update. The look and feel is just a bit too old looking atm.
Also, give the shuffle some more storage... still 2GB, really?

funny that they killed off the touch screen nano... I wonder why..... kinda around the same time they had plans for the watch.... o_O

Nano and Shuffle is almost useless without a firmware update that supports offline listening on Apple Music. For the love of music this should be the first device that supports such thing.

I understand the nano & shuffle getting only color updates. But the iPod touch better get more than that, otherwise it'd be pointless. Besides a 64 bit A processor, I'd like to see a significant camera update. Apple really should rebrand the iPod touch as an iPad nano. Unlike the iPod nano & shuffle, It's really always been more than just a music player. Gaming. Web surfing. These are iPad like features. It also is a great potential photography tool. Not everyone wants an iPhone and an expensive contract. If Apple beefed up the camera in the touch to iPhone like status, I'd get it just for that to use as a travel camera.

The blue actually looks pretty sharp. If they offered that on the iPone, I might consider that over the gold.

Maybe they will bring them to the 5c, not the gold, but I can see the blue. Or they could bring them the the Apple Watch Sport Bands, like the ones leaked.

Apple's iOS devices have been showing 9:41(2) since the original iPhone 8 years ago.

The clock is always at 9:41. But the date is more interesting.. normally it shows Tuesday the 9th.

why do people still bother ipod when we having iphone - everything iphone can do that ipod do

Because my iPod nano is permanently attached to my car stereo and hidden away. Only comes out when it's time to put different music on it. And you know what it can do that the iPhone can't? Crossfade. Also, it was a lot cheaper than an iPhone. That being said, I sure wouldn't mind if it was available in more than 16 GB. Color of the body? Screen size? Doesn't matter. I just need it to be flash based and small enough to tuck away.

so new ipod redesign or just same design , if resesign then iphone 7 we know a answer-

so apple now focus on music no more
appletv - hahahha that suck -

music is boring i watching youtube all days and listen music 10 minutes

The whole line of ipods has been in severe decline over the last few years. An upgrade is clearly needed to make it relevant again. However, a color change is not going to cut it. Even a spec bump is not going to turn this around anytime soon. The only thing I can see is to market it as an iphone light. basically without the cell chip, it can still text and even make calls (VoIP) when connected to wifi. For Kids this could be a great alternative. For adults, it could be a little bit more difficult, but think about it. What happens if you the touch is essentially a iphone minus the cell chip. For those that live constantly on a wifi network at home or at work, this could be a way to eliminate paying a telco. The only downside would be no connectivity when in transit - which may be acceptable given the monthly savings.
