Apple really is fixing the errors of its ways. No longer will they need to stand on the keynote stage and embarrassingly reassure their core customer base they care about the Mac. Instead, they are acting like Mac users and delivering great hardware.. Now, just get the software up to par.
I have never understood the lack of mainstream Apple display. Thousands of workers with beautiful Macs connected to cheap plastic Dell or Samsung or LG displays.
I’m not just a ”day 1” customer, I will authorize hundreds and hundreds of these to be purchased and donate all the current junk displays we’ve suffered through For far too long.
Everyone knowns these will be expensive, just don’t make them too expensive Apple.
Brand it as PRO display and Apple can charge 10x of what they want with maybe 3x or 4x better performance in some metrics over competitors.Everyone knowns these will be expensive, just don’t make them too expensive Apple.
You're supposed to buy an iMac for desktop use. That's the message being sent.I have never understood the lack of mainstream Apple display. Thousands of workers with beautiful Macs connected to cheap plastic Dell or Samsung or LG displays.
I don’t understand the question? Personally, I would not be comfortable with only 8GB RAM in any contemporary computer. Even 16GB RAM seems limited and likely to become restrictive within 3-4 years of updates. I use a 27” iMac (2013-2014) i7 Quadcore with 24GB RAM, and it’s really not enough memory to run several Adobe and Microsoft programs, and Chrome concurrently. But, 5 years ago, that was a very comfortable spec.I hate wasting money, but I can’t, and I’ve spent hours and hours thinking about this— I can’t find a reason that a iMac M1 24” 8GB RAM 256GB SSD is a waste of money.
Maybe someone could offer a different opinion?

I know that Apple claims their use of RAM is ‘optimized’…but I’ll have to see and experience it to believe it.
I want the 27” iMac with 32GB RAM. 😀 Very excited that it might be released in March! Still not sure how I feel about all the new iMac colors.
I suspect you maybe on the right track.I guess this 27inch iMac might be M1 Pro/Max version of iMac. A high end iMac is rumored to share with Mac Pro Cube's chip.
Me too. They've been going strong for years and I have my B&O speakers plugged into an Airport Express for the Airplay.Dare to dream!
That would be frickin' awesome
We actually still use APE's at home
I dont think both new iMac and Mac mini will released in 2021.I suspect you maybe on the right track.
Entry Level release year 2020 is M1 with MBA, previous style MBP, MacMini and iMac 24”
Mid Level release year 2021 is M1 Pro (Max optional) with MBP 14/16”, iMac Pro 27” and MacMini Pro
Top Level release year 2022 is M1 Max (Pro Max optional) with MP
Two year AS transition.
Entry Level release year 2022 is M2 with MBA
Mid Level release year 2023
Top Level release year 2024
etcetera
It’s the AS introductory release year which may stagger some products into the following year.I dont think both new iMac and Mac mini will released in 2021.
Seems quite logical to me too.I guess this 27inch iMac might be M1 Pro/Max version of iMac. A high end iMac is rumored to share with Mac Pro Cube's chip.
A lot -- a LOT -- of people don't need HDR and blistering levels of brightness
I would guess 27” is reserved for M1 Pro & Max, but 32” is for iMac Pro with even beefier processor, probably one of those Mac Pro ones.
yeah I plugged my APE back in because I was having some internet issues for weeks. And that solved the problem.Dare to dream!
That would be frickin' awesome
