The difference in price (in the UK) between a 16GB iPhone and a 64GB iPhone is £170. Why then should I have to pay that much to expand my phone by 32GB, when I can regulary buy a 32GB SD card for around £25; and not be forced to decide from day one which phone to buy (and perhaps regret not buying one with more memory at a later date). One of the great things about my Samsung and Lumia 820 is I can upgrade as I choose, simply and cheaply.

As for your argument about SD cards going bad; I've NEVER had this issue despite having purchased hundreds over the years (as a photographer). To have 2 cards go wrong suggests you're buying some nasty rubbish! I also buy class 10 cards; but even if I was to buy a cheap class 3, the difference in speed (on a mobile phone) would be totally negligable (although I'm sure we'll now get a thread of replies quoting millisecond differences between media!)

You're other point about the difference between 16GB and 64GB not being 'mind blowing' also (along with buying poor quality SD cards) shows your lack of understanding about memory; the difference between the information (images, music, video) you can carry on a 64GB phone versus a 16GB is significant - its THOUSANDS of photo's, THOUSANDS of songs and perhaps around 32 movies or more.

At the end of the day though, other manufacturers give you option of upgarding, Apple dont, and its pretty sad and a sign of desperation when iPhone users (as I once was myself!) try to convince others that this feature (use it or not) is a negative; either down to pure jelousy, trying to defend their purchase to the nth degree whilst denying Apple are really just milking them for more money .... or of course, just stupidity!

No, it isnt a 'killer feature', but it is a feature the S3 has which the iPhone doesnt, along with NFC, wireless charging and a better screen ... all features I use and all the reasons why I ditched my iPhone (after buying them for the past 6 years) for a Samsung. The fact there are people on forums engaging in petty arguments (my phone is better than yours) when clearly thats not the case is, as I said above, just sad and desperate!

This is the most uninspiring conversation I've had in my adult life.

Read my first post clearly. I said if you want that ability, then the Samsung product is for you.

And I appreciate the ad hominem attack. That's marvelous.

The cards that went bad were SanDisk cards. You're welcome to call them and verify that they do not have a 100% perfection rate.

Have fun with your phone which I really, truly, intensely could care less about.

... but you could care less enough to send a reply again eh!!!!!

Exactly!
I never take photos with my iPhone.
Why? Because I'm a professional photographer and I just want better photos than what an iPhone can manage. iPhone's only advantage is, it's with me all the time. But if I'm traveling to someplace interesting, I wouldn't just rely on my iPhone to capture those special moments. Not to mention other phones in Japan offer much higher resolution cameras with better lenses and sensors.

Even pro photographers use their iPhone to take pictures. Not only is it useful when location scouting but when you go out with friends at a bar or a club, do you carry a FF camera with you all the time?

Taking a picture with a phone is not about publishing it or winning prizes, it's about keeping memories.

----------

I personally prefer to take a photo and have it already be on my computer whenever I sit down, or put it in a PhotoStream that I can share with anyone. It's just simpler. No adapters or importing files or removing pieces.

Dropbox with Android works much better than Photostream with iPhone. Sharing is also much better.

However, does anybody else feel its a little samsung like or similar in creativity to the sony colours ad?

I just miss the original stuff apple used to produce.

This is original and nothing like the sony colour ads other than having random people in indoor/outdoor settings. There are no large bursts of colours nor are there global settings merging into each other to look like a seamless connection (as was their concept). To be honest, I have no idea what "samsung like" is as I haven't seen them make an original mark on advertising other than making fun of iPhone campers in line.

"...miss the original stuff apple used to produce" is a throw away line people like to use to make it look like apple is somehow losing ground or support in some sort of way. That's ridiculous... these aren't tea leaves, they are ads – and great ones at that.

It's just a commercial. Any move Apple makes seems to be the "stuff of legends". A phenomena that seems to go on and on...

Yes it's just a commercial. What's gotten you so excited about it ?

The sony advert is a serious of snaps at various different objects, people, etc (not all bursting with colour)

The Nikon ads are snaps being taken of various different things.

I'm finding it difficult to explain.

I preferred the apple ads with the voiceovers. I'm assuming they feel they have reached the end of that.
