Or at least announced or hinted during that time frame. The March Keynote will have nothing to contribute to iMacs or the Mac Pro. It's either September 2017 or 2018 for the Mac Pro/iMac.

They'll announce the Kaby lake at WWDC or maybe sooner, but I'd stick with WWDC and then you'll see the current MBP's in the refurbished area, cause there OLD  or outdated.

Not exactly. Mac pro, macbook air and mac mini have not been updated. Stating that everything but the pro has been updated is a gross exaggeration at best.
Guess what else hasn't been updated in years either.... THE IPOD!

The Mac mini is dead, the MB Air will soon be replaced by the 12 in MB. And the Pro is such a tiny segment along with the Mac Mini that its probably not even worth paying the salaries of employees to work on them.....you can either accept it and move to an iMac, MB Pro or move to another platform.

My Air 2 is still kicking just fine. Aside from the Pencil, I really am not seeing anything that a new iPad can do that my Air 2 can't do. The OS of the ipad is still just "big iPhone". I'm somewhat interested in getting a bigger-screened iPad if I get a good trade-in value for my Air 2, but not sure whether I'd go for the 12.9 or 10.5.

I've also been just standing by since last Fall to get a new iMac the minute one is released.. um... Bueller, Bueller..

Apl may realise its finally time to drop the abusive pricing of ASP almost $700, offer one extremely high end and offer a lower price tier to try to attract more refreshers mainly.... the SE could become for the masses, the 8 for those who have the resources or need to have the best apl product. They buy the SE then aspire to the 8s next cycle as their friends show off new glass phone.
I spent a lot of I win't actually time w/ the original iPad (a 'Specialist' I was, back in the day), but have had nothing to mess around with since but my iPhone: I went from a 4 to a 6+, to 6...but I'll tell you, if (WHEN) I get an iPad I won't really care how small my phone's screen is. I love my iPhone, but the iPad is worlds better to me.

I will GLADLY buy the iPhone that syncs with a 'PAD & uses the pad's cell-data connection to provide phone service (could be as simple as a version of the AirPods, maybe)
[doublepost=1487627674][/doublepost]
Three.

10.5 will replace 9.7 with the same form factor body with larger screen and reduced bezels.
I will be SO all over this if it comes to be...

Who cares about iPads. It will never have a huge market. Their wasting resources. Where are the damn Macs?

The market for iPads is roughly twice as large as the Mac. Just for your information.

10 iPhones are sold for every Mac. Combined with the iPad (which runs iOS, and shares many similar components with the iPhone), Apple is selling 12 iOS devices for every Mac.

Not hard to see why Apple is prioritising the development of iOS devices over those running macOS.

Apple will host a March event to introduce a new iPad Pro lineup and other products, according to Japanese website Mac Otakara.

ipad-pro-red-iphone-7s.jpg

In terms of the iPad Pro lineup, the report claims Apple will announce new 7.9-inch, 9.7-inch, 10.5-inch, and 12.9-inch models. The 10.5-inch model may not ship until May, while the other sizes are said to ship in March.

If the report is accurate, it would suggest Apple plans to refresh the iPad mini 4 with a new 7.9-inch iPad Pro model, update its existing 9.7-inch iPad Pro and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models, and introduce an all-new 10.5-inch iPad Pro, which is widely rumored to feature an edge-to-edge display without a Home button.

Mac Otakara previously said the 10.9-inch iPad Pro--it now says 10.5-inch--will have the same overall footprint as the current 9.7-inch iPad Pro thanks to its edge-to-edge design. The earlier report said the top bezel will remain in order to provide space for the front-facing FaceTime camera, but it will likely be slimmer.

The blog also previously said the 12.9-inch iPad Pro will feature a 12-megapixel rear camera and True Tone display like the current 9.7-inch model, using advanced four-channel ambient light sensors to automatically adapt the color and intensity of the display to match the light in the surrounding environment.

Meanwhile, it said the 7.9-inch iPad Pro will feature a Smart Connector, True Tone display, four speakers, and a 12-megapixel rear-facing iSight camera with True Tone flash, as Apple works to standardize features across its tablet lineup. All new iPad Pro models will reportedly gain quad microphones as well.

Three months ago, Barclays analysts predicted Apple will release a trio of new iPad Pro models in March, including 9.7-inch, 12.9-inch, and edge-to-edge 10.9-inch models, but not a 7.9-inch iPad Pro. Instead, their research note said Apple will continue to produce and sell the iPad mini 4, released in September 2015.

KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has likewise said Apple is planning a new 9.7-inch, 10.5-inch, and 12.9-inch iPad Pro lineup for 2017. He did not mention a 7.9-inch model. He said the 10.5-inch and 12.9-inch models are likely to feature a faster Apple A10X processor, while the "low-cost" 9.7-inch model will sport an A9X chip.

DigiTimes expects a 10.5-inch iPad Pro as well, making that four separate sources reporting similar. The math checks out too: the width of a 10.5-inch iPad Pro would match the height of the iPad mini screen, while it would have the same resolution as the 12.9-inch model and the same pixel density as the iPad mini.

Today's report also claims Apple may add a 128GB storage option for the iPhone SE, alongside the smartphone's existing 16GB and 64GB capacities, and add a new red color--(PRODUCT)RED?--option for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The blog previously said the red color would be for the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus.

The report also calls for new Apple Watch bands at the event in line with last year's Spring refresh. Apple introduced the iPhone SE, 9.7-inch iPad Pro, and new Apple Watch bands at its March 2016 event last year.

Mac Otakara has a good but not perfect track record in terms of Apple rumors.

So, I need to sell my big 12" iPad now

Now I must sell my "old" 12" iPad Pro and wait until the new model is released.

It's a good timing to sell it, because there are a lot of people how don't read any Apple news and want a iPad Pro.

Buuuut, I don't like to wait for a new device :(

IMO The beauty of a hybrid. One device to do everything. Touch when it's needed, keyboard and trackpad when it's not.

You want the best of both worlds, you get the worst of both worlds as well. It's a package deal. One which I am not willing to make.

Also will be getting rid of my iPad 3 if the new ones seem like they have enough RAM and speed to future proof me for the next 5 years like this one did.

A 9.7" AND a 10.5" iPad at the same time? Way to confuse your average potential iPad buyer. Already they have the useless 12.5" model so instead of simplifying the user's buying decision, they confused them more. Which lesson from Steve did Apple Marketing forget this time? Why is it so hard to continue to run the company with Steve's philosophy? Stop messing up, Apple!

Apple is now serving a way larger user base with more diverse needs. They can no longer get away with selling the slim product lineup under Steve Job's tenure.

And 4 iPad sizes is already quite streamlined. I don't see the average consumer being confused.

To try and persuade the people who bought a 9.7" one last year to upgrade...?

In the past, you'd have expected the 10.5 to replace the 9.7 at the same price point (esp. since the 9.7 Pro already got an effective price hike last year, and there's already the 9.7" Air as a cheaper fallback). These days? We'll see.

My concern is what it is like to handle - you need some bezel to hold the thing in your hands (its too big to grip by the edges like a phone).
I believe there's some confusion in the visualization: the 9.7" iPad is measured 9.7" on the diagonal of the screen, not counting the bezels...however, the physical dimension of that same iPad is 10.5". give that 10.5" unit an edge-to-edge screen, and it not-magically become a 10.5" screen.

Hypothetically, it would not be a larger UNIT, just a larger SCREEN.

A red iPhone. Sales are that bad huh.

It's still going to do the same exact thing my 7 plus does. Also I haven't seen my jet black since the day I opened it and slapped a clear skin on the back and put it in a case.

But I did get a red rhinestone case. Purrty.

RE: "Apple plans to refresh the iPad mini 4 with a new 7.9-inch iPad Pro model,...."

It about time, huh on the iPad Mini! Hopefully, Apple will put in an A10 and 4GB RAM! Cheap f**kers!

I digress, the red iPhone 7 looks very nice!

I'm hoping for Kaby Lake. I'm actually looking More forward to WWDC than I am the March Keynote.

Apples going to revitalize the ipad market with this event, especially if it's true the bezels will go.
Spot on: Apple's biggest difficulty w/ the pads has been that they were over-built in the first place, and that left scant room for spec stretch, but also made successive fresh updates un-compelling...moving from bezel-screens to full-face screens would see close to all early pads slide downstream into new hands, as their first owners dove for the hot & new. Major expansion of Apples market domination - and a total body-slam on the Sequence...which most likely would not recover from the blow.

The SE has 2gb RAM; cant see how that is too little?!

It is little when you price out the 4GB RAMs now on the market day! HDTV sets come with 16GB now!
[doublepost=1487629885][/doublepost]
Yes, don't fall victim to the belief that more RAM is better. It's about balance. The iPhone SE's 2GB RAM is likely an ideal amount to match the overall system specs, and how iOS optimizes memory usage. Of course, it's up to developers to be responsible with RAM usage in their own apps, as well. Throwing more RAM at a poorly-designed application is not the right solution. Don't be thinking that Android phones with 4GB of RAM are better than an iPhone with 2GB. It's about how that RAM is utilized that really matters, and it's been proven that iOS is far more efficient.

I've been touting an SE for several months, and it is an awesome little device! Zero performance issues. Handles everything I've thrown its way. Of course, I'm well aware that applications will continue gaining new features, and eventually things might hit the ceiling like they did with my former iPhone 4s, where sluggishness becomes an issue. But I don't see that happening for at least 2 more years (in my usage case).

If Apple updates it with the A10; the energy consumption will be 40% less and 4GB RAM will be the same or even less energy consumption as the current 2GB for the SE now!

What is the big deal with colours? A lot pf people use (or should use) cases and covers anyway.

You want the best of both worlds, you get the worst of both worlds as well. It's a package deal. One which I am not willing to make.
Like? Care to expand on that?
I'll settle for bullet points.

Like? Care to expand on that?

You have a touchscreen, but not an accompanying UI optimised for touch and direct input. You have keyboard and mouse, but not the laptop form factor designed to take advantage of that.

You are stuck with a 3:2 form factor for both your laptop and tablet, regardless of whether you want those aspect ratios or not. It still lacks the LTE option.

For someone like me who uses his iPad way more than his MacBook Air, better for me to just stick with a dedicated tablet form factor.

I have the iPad Pro 9.7 and absolutely love it. That said, not sure what Apple could offer that would make me want to upgrade. No bezels and 3D Touch would be nice, but not essential. A faster processor is useless since there still aren't any Pro apps that really take advantage of the current a9 processor. Hm.

I read at some UK sites about a rumor that Apple is going to release the New iPad Pro 2 in March.
As I bought one a couple of days ago but planning to return it since I have one at home and my wife is using it .
If the new one will come out soon will buy it and sell my Wife 9.7" that is a few months old 128Gb Space gray and buy a couple of them.
