I am ready to upgrade my ipad mini 4. Hope it's something good
I normally wouldn't be ready to upgrade since I like to get two to three years off of iPads. But I really want an iPad mini I can use with the Apple Pencil. I would still keep my mini 4 around to use in the kitchen. I've still got my original Retina mini around in use.

Just bring real computers: Mac Pro, Mac mini and MacBook Pro. No jail, true USB ports, decent fully accesible file system, no need to send you files by eMail to get them on other Mac, no application sandboxing, open and work with any file from any source, full compatibility with the world (Windows, Linux, etc), run also other operating systems via Boot Camp or VMware Fusion, much powerful, and much, much much more...

At this point I'd settle for a modest Mac Pro update with Thunderbolt 3, I'd put up with some Apple-weird-a** slot that we can hack for a video card, even if were still stock ATI, and...and...<sigh>; oh I give up. Even that horrifying Franken-Mac Pro is too much to ask for.

The Mini, <sigh> again. We need some decent timelines, and some consistency! IS THE MINI A FUN PLAY SERVER (4 cores?, circa 2012-2013) or NOT (what we have now)? Have some vision, and stick with it for more than a handful of years.

I think people thought the same about WWDC last year too. ;)
So, you'd rather Apple just do what everyone else that is playing with these same CPU and GPU choices does, and just keep shuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic, for no real performance gains, JUST to say they are using this-year's chipsets? Sorry, that's not sound engineering.

But, if Apple really IS paying attention to Intel, sometime this year (sooner than later) we SHOULD get:

1. Kaby-based iMacs with 32 GB RAM at least and USB-C/TB3

2. Sky-based Quad-core mini with 16 GB RAM and USB-C/TB3

3. Sky-based Xeon Pro with ??? GPUs and ??? RAM

4. Maybe Kaby-based MBPs

Sounds like they have a lot of iOS stuff planned for March, but no Macs? ;)

cheaper pricing on CPU & GPU orders along with assembly is longer than iOS devices.

I was disappointed when buying my daughters last iPhone that the SE had so little memory. A great phone but limited with a small amount of expensive ram.

But... Apple will just like always GOUGE an exorbitant amount of cash for memory that is cheaply available elsewhere.

iPhone 6 with extended warranty is running on well loved and used lower than iPhone SE BNIB pricing, about the same performance. You should've got her the iPhone 5S 64GB for then, and trade it for gen 2 SE with rounded edges to match IP6/6S/7 lineup design.

Wonder if the SE is getting a price overhaul? Simply adding 128gb seems like an odd move. I could even see dropping 16 and just going 64 128 with the pricing remaining the same. But...

32 and 128 with the pricing remaining the same

Just as they did with the mini 4 and air 2 back in September

The Sept event will focus on the iPhone & Watch. I don't think they will want to distract from that. 2018 is just too long to wait given how old the current models are.

My guess is they will update the MB in March (hopefully adding a 14" model) and update the iMac & Mac Pro at WWDC. If they do update the Mac Mini that will come later in the year without an event.

I'm not sure if we will see another Watch event in 2017. If we do, it will be minor with an LTE option/software. I think March 2018 will be the next major redesign, which would slated for its 18 month refresh.

My guess is iMac in 2017 and Mac Pro in 2018. WWDC is still primarily about software/developers. It was rumored heavily last year to expect a refreshed Apple Watch in June during WWDC and that was incorrect.

I can't wait till we get to a stage of Apple releasing 256Gig iOS devices at some point.. It's only matter of time

I'll take your word. I didn't really pay attention. Would be nice to see them just give the base
Model 64 like the 6s and 6s plus

I have to be honest, I'd probably be all in with an lte watch assuming the battery was supposed to last the day (generally at 65-70% now for me). I'd even reconsider my stance on Bluetooth headphones lol.

I predict: new 12.9", new 10.5", current 9.7" becomes the low end, mini is killed. So three screen sizes, only two new models.

I don't think they could offer anything that would make me upgrade my iPad Air 2. But we shall see.

12.9" Pro - specific target market
Soon though, like the 17" PowerBook and MacBook Pro it'll die or mutate into a mini-iMac of sorts (granted full macOS)
10% of yearly iPad sales.

9.7" Pro was a HUGE hit! This will be the main-stay for 40% of the iPad sales going forward - 2017-2018

10.5" replaces the iPad Air since already latest news states it'll be thinner.
40% of sales.

7.9" iPad Mini
- K12 students or preschoolers.
- restaurants as menu's or rapid maps in cars with mounts
- underground mining focus
10% of sales.

Base storage for 6s and 6s plus is 32 gb if I am not mistaken

They will just streamline the storage options across different products

16 gb base storage was almost unacceptable one year ago , now it really is time ..

This would be great news as I am about to pull the trigger on an iPhone se. 32 gb would be perfect especially if the price stays the same :)

I'll wait a couple of weeks

I wish they'd put the same specs in the 9.7 and 10.5 iPad Pro. I don't want a bezel-less iPad. Make the differentiation be the form factor, not the specifications.

No, I'm very happy that Apple focuses mostly on iOS devices.

I argued repeatedly in the waiting for Skylake thread that people wouldn't see huge performance gains from what was already on offer. And so it was proven true when they were eventually benchmarked.

I also don't care if Apple never releases a MBP with 32 GB RAM. I'm not interested personally, and Apple has been moving away from catering to high end Mac users for years now.

The Mac is the legacy platform now. It is the past. New interesting apps and updates are rarely pushed out on the Mac anymore. All the interesting stuff is happening on iOS. And the future is iOS.

Fine, works for me. I also have the ability to hook it up to my 4K screen with Bluetooth mouse and keyboard - hey-presto Desktop PC.
LTE. Yeah, I just hook it up to my phone or use public Wi-Fi. Never been an issue.
I find it quite a hassle to hotspot it from my phone. More convenient to just insert a SIM card and ensure my iPad is connected to the internet 24/7.

Why have both then?
I travel all the time for work and I got bored of carrying around two devices + Wacom + midi controller + all the plugs, adapters etc...
Apple never got round to making that perfect device that can do it all so I happily caved in when MS did.
Because the iPad is still not yet at a stage where I can get 100% of my work done on it. My 9.7' iPad pro is the perfect teacher's companion in the classroom, and it works well enough that I am willing to do 80% of my work on it, and turn to my Mac for the remaining 20%.

I still think bezels serve some purpose for holding the iPad without inadvertently pushing or tapping the wrong icons, etc. I would like to see some reduction though, which I think will happen.

I think the same. No problem with a bit of a reduction.

I'd also like a home button and Touch ID.

we have had [...] between 20 and 25 different configurations (excluding colours).
Thanks for counting, but without including important multipliers such as colours and the various cellular flavours required in different markets, the informative value of your comparison is only limited unfortunately.
