The writing is on the wall for android. ???
To be honest, I long thought the iPhone was doomed to be an underdog to Android forever, but now I think Apple is just too good and they're on track to overtake at least the developed world at their current pace. They're always a step ahead in the ways that matter, even if they are behind in other ways. That being said, things change fast in the tech world. Tim clearly knows this and isn't sleeping.

The only reason why android has so much market share, is because of all the useless $50/$100 dumb phones, that aren’t good at doing anything. ?

They're even available at my local supermarkets ?‍♂️??

nothing compared to the apple haters unhealthy obsession with sideloading
The App Store policies are the one thing I will consistently bash Apple for. Sorry, but I didn't agree to have my computers locked down without software support. At the very least Apple could level things out by not being complete jerks with their app guidelines, but nah. Sorry but whether you like it or not, Apple is putting iOS on track for heavy legal regulation in major countries that will not allow them to their current business practices. And forever I will wonder if simply allowing fricking Xbox streaming and letting netflix cost the normal price would be enough to have stopped it. Apple made their bed with the App Store. It's time for them to at the very least allow proper game support. Apple doesn't need to screen whether games are appropriate for their platform, I think that's for users to decide.

Yes of course, but that's how the market works. There's multiple races, quality and price. To be honest those crazy cheap phones are pretty amazing for their price though. Like being able to do what you can do on a $50 phone is impressive even if it's cheap junk compared to a 12 Pro Max.

imo Apple should make a $229 iPhone with the current SE body, no overly fancy features like the newest chip. They would take a LOT of the cheap phone market and the phone wouldn't be crap, just an old design. Then they should make like a $450 phone with the XR body, but that's probably a dream. If Tim does that it will be in like two years when that design is as ancient as the current SE seems and then we will have to read a bunch of Android spec nerds bitch about Apple selling a 720p phone again.

Just goes to show you Steve Jobs genius with regards to Apples walled garden. This has everything to do with the integration of things like the Apple Watch and App Store and has very little to do with the iPhone being the ‘best phone’ on the market.

An upper line Samsung Phone has its plusses. When stacked up with an upper line iPhone, no one wins every category. Samsung is definitely trying to put out a great product too and they have expertise they bring to the table. One may be the best but there's so many metrics to measure, it's not an easy trophy to give out. But you're spot on that Apple's eco offering is significantly above Samsung/Android offerings. Anyone who is going to argue that just can't face up to the truth (and there will be those who will adamantly! argue it :) ).

Apple wrote a $4.5 billion check to Qualcomm and signed a multi-year agreement to stay on schedule.

Keep in mind in 2019, it was clear Intel wouldn't have a first gen 5G modem ready until 2021. The consensus was if Apple stayed with Intel, they would be late. That proved to be true.
So in other words, Apple knows what they are doing and and aren't to proud to pivot. Then boom... AGAIN. Apple is DOOMED ?

On the earnings report, it is mildly concerning that who should know most about what will happen with the sale of their products, Apple, isn't providing bigger guidance. It is fair to wonder 'does the future look that muddled for iPhone and/or other product and services?'. They did provide a generic 'expect double digit growth'. And though all top lines were pretty great, a bit of the upward arc flattening in a few areas.

With that said, seeing iPhone sales this huge plus seeing some growing sales penetration in markets Apple barely is in the game? To hear that, damn, that's a glass of champagne for an investor. You love markets that have lots of customers, you're making inroads, and your product has almost no where to go but up. And if they got some Android converts in those markets (not sure of that part), you're looking at a potential top line increase that could be big just by grabbing a tenth of a market. For an investor that's worth popping the cork of a bottle of Dom Perignon.

The writing is on the wall for android. ???
AAPL shares are down 2.09 in after market and GOOG is up 0.9.
You’ll be back in 2 weeks, by then the bloat, fragmentation and lag would’ve kicked in, we’ll be here to welcome you back with open arms. ??
No sir, I've been using a Samsung S7 for almost five years now, very happy about it.

And there are *many* poor people in the world, so luckily there are cheap phones so they can afford them.
Plus there are lots of mid range Android phones that apparently work well, in fact Xiaomi is now number two worldwide, not Apple. I say apparently because I don't have one and I talk about what I know, not about what I don't know, like many Android haters do.

It seems really hard for some people to just get that everyone doesn't prefer to use an iPhone. In fact, 80% of the world uses Android, big numbers.

Great news, that way the anticompetitive/monopoly/duopoly lawsuits becomes even more important with those new facts on the table. ?

Well, not everybody has >1200$€£ on the bank to spend on a phone, that’s a very ignorant mindset. Buying hardware with a credit card like commonly done in the U.S. doesn’t make it better, sooner or later a money collector will knock on their doors.

I very much suspect they are going to bring the M series to the iPhone Pros as a differentiator over the cheaper models. Especially since next years iPhones will have two sets of 6.1 and 6.7 phone sizes.
There is literally no chance of this happening without thermal throttling in the smaller iphone chassis, to the point that the M1 would perform worse and consume more battery than the A14 bionic.
